Hello SC fans!

Sometimes all you need is a rich vibrant sheet of Heidi Swapp paper to start a page.

Heidi's Hawthorne range has plenty, including this sheet of HAWTHORNE PAPER - VELVET I used as the base to my page.

From there, I built up some layers to create this pretty, yet simple multi-photo layout.

I layered my three square photos on some torn cardboard (brown to match our lovely Lulu dog!).

Tucked in and stapled with my Tim Holtz tiny attacher are:

* Heidi Swapp doiles, and 

* Tim Holtz tissue paper.

And on top I stuck some sticker words and a Charms Creation book paper star.

I finished with some white splatters, made with: Dina Wakley White Gloss Spray.

Also found some old blue star eyelets from my stash! Yay for stash-busting.

 I even raided my old Heidi Ghost letters for the title! Have you still go some in your stash?

 And how cute is  our dog LULU? -She's the star of the page!

Multi Photo Page- Urban Market - Teresa Collins

Hello friends of Scrapping Clearly, Leonie with you today. After having spent last weekend at a scrapbooking retreat I'm feeling creatively energised.  I have some super pages to share with you in my upcoming blog posts. 

For today there is this multiphoto page using the Teresa Collins - Urban Market collection.

I really like the neutral tones and blue in this collection. 

You can see another page (also a multi photo) I created with the Urban Market Collection HERE.

I put together a fairly simple design using 3 photo's and papers from the 6x6 paper pad in the Urban Market Collection. I then used some lovely Chipboard Elements from the Collection to embellish my page.

I also added some Glitter Stars by Freckled Fawn and some wood veneer stars from my stash.

A Couple of Multi Photo Layouts by Peg

Hello Arty Peeps.

Life has been so full at my place lately that there has been precious little time or motivation for scrapping. Unfortunately, that doesn't stop the need to get stories in albums, but it does make the process so much more difficult, don't you think?

In an effort to simplify the job I decided to pull out a few things that were the last of a range. I always feel better when I can finish a paper range I have or a pack of something. The sense of completion combined with the anticipation of using something new is a heady mix.

This time it was the fabulous Teresa Collins Something Wonderful range.

I have loved this range so much for its versatility, it is so easy to use for simple pages that look more complex.

I used this paper for my base, this paper for my cards, and matching washi tape to add some energy to my page.

I also had some of the Pink Paislee Fancy Free range left over so I used this paper, added a punched border and some black cardstock, to mat my photos.

My title was done with a Pink Paislee acetate alpha, I added a few enamel shapes (hearts), and stapled things on with my Tim Holtz tiny attacher.

I also used this paper from the Pink Paislee Fancy Free range to start this page.

The other half of this paper became a strip down the middle which I edged using some Hambly transparency, stapled on with my Tim Holtz tiny attacher again.

I was at a loss with how to finish it after adding my typed and dated journal spot so, deciding that it needed more interest in the background, I reached for my Ranger Archival ink pads and some little Heidi Swapp stencils. I added some stamping too with these adorable stamps, and some wood veneer coloured black, both from Cocoa Vanilla Studios. Some star sequins and a cute paper clip finished it off.

This page started to take shape once I'd punched out the edge and mounted it with a black border. I could see exactly what was needed once it was 'framed'. Does this ever happen to you? You're stumped until it's framed?

As a side note, I always save the middle out of the black cardstock backing,

it's handy for matting photos, which I almost always do.

The Story of the Gumboots

Good Morning Arty Peeps!

Hope your weekend is full of fun with a little creativity thrown in, mine is shaping up just that way.

Today I'm sharing my sketch challenge layout, about hanging out with those who feed my soul with art and fun times.

Still using up my Colour Blast pastes, I made the background on heavy weight cardstock with a cool new Kinder Kreations mandala stencil, making sure to treat the paste with Dorland's Wax when dry, to stop the stickiness.

After the Dorland's I swiped some Ceramcoat black paint over my page top and bottom. When wiping it off the Colour Blast paste it was taking the paste with it, so I left it looking kinda grungy. I added a bit of zing to my background with some flicks of Lemon Zest Dylusions spray (the best yellow!).

For my layers I used this gorgeous stamp set with black ink on white card, adding some extra colour with Stazon ink and my Lemon Zest. The two word strips are from this pretty and versatile paper from Kaisercraft.

I journalled straight on the gesso with a white pen and added some white splats with Dylusions ink spray, I love how opaque this stuff is!

I used a title from this pack of foamThickers, and embellished with vellum hearts and buttons.

Have You Got Your Challenges In?

Good Afternoon Arty Peeps!

Peg here today to share my sketch challenge page for July. Are you playing along?

Today is the last day to upload, then new challenges for August tomorrow, exciting!

Here's the sketch

I started with kraft cardstock and 3 hues of Colour Blast paste for the background, applying them vertically instead of horizontally. When dry, I rubbed in some Dorland's Wax to stop the paste from being sticky. This is a particularly important step if you are art journalling to stop your Colour Blast pages from sticking together.

As I was scrapping multiple square Instagram pics, I decided a grid layout on black card would work best, keep the page from becoming too busy. To draw the viewer's eye through my photos I used a small piece of patterned paper from a Pink Paislee Memorandum 6 x 6 pad on each side of my grid.

A Kaisercraft sticker, and a chipboard arrow coloured black, created a border between my photos and my journalling, bulleted at each end with a decorative brad. I stamped the date on a label sticker and matted it on another piece of the same patterned paper I had already used. The staples are just for decoration, I coloured them black with an alcohol marker.

My photo mat was not sticking well to the Colour Blast paste using just double-sided tape, so I stapled it on with my Tim Holtz Tiny Attacher. I added a cute paper clip and another Kaiser sticker, then stitched around the page a little closer to the edge than the sketch. Some black acrylic paint around the edges and I was finished.

Do You Have The Same Problem As Me?

Good Morning Arty Peeps! 

Ok, my name is Peg, and I am addicted to Tim Holtz Distress Oxide inkpads.
There, I said it.
I have another oxide layout to share with you today, sorry (not sorry!).

Seriously though, check out that background on heavy weight cardstock.

How can you not love that!

To allow the gorgeous oxide colours to shine I kept the embellishments to a minimum; a pack of Dusty Attic chipboard coloured black with a marker, and some enamel dots.

I used these stickers, also coloured black with a marker, for my title.

I hand journalled on a foiled card.

I added some heart-shaped bubble wrap stamping to the corners with the chippy cogs.

Too easy, and such a quick page.

So yes, I'm addicted to oxide inkpads. I cannot see me not playing with them well into the future. I am in lurve.

And it's January!!

Happy New Year to all our arty peeps!!

I am so pleased to be leaving 2016 behind, it was a doozy.

So, playing with the bright and happy new mood board for January

(see it at the bottom of this post), I came up with this page.

This was my second attempt at creating on New Year's Eve,

I'm feeling a return of some mojo, yay!

 Some details...

Colour Blast paste (love that shimmer!) on a heavy card base with this TCW stencil. Then some drips and dribbles of Tim Holtz distress reinker colours, red and yellow. I used another piece of cardstock to clean my mat which I then used for the banner.

I journalled with my awesome WeRMK Typecast typewriter by putting the whole page through, yes, all 12"!! I wrapped paper towel over the paste so it wouldn't get all over the typewriter but as you can see by the uneven lines, it was a little challenging getting the paper to roll. No paste next time methinks.

Other stuff used... Foam title & stars, flair, phrase sticker, date stamp,  staples with Stazon ink, black acrylic paint, mini bubble wrap.

Laugh so Hard....

Hi there arty peeps.

Hope all's well with you.

I'm here today to share a fab colourful page with you celebrating a wonderful friendship made through scrapbooking and retreating. I used super bright Dylusions paints to reflect the amazing spirit and talent of my buddy Lisa.

With a base of heavy weight cardstock I applied the paint using my Gelli plate. I added a strip of Hambly transparency top and bottom, secured with some machine stitching and washi tape. I used these cute Heidi Swapp stickers to create a visual line diagonally down the page. I coloured these wood veneers with my black Copic marker for the title with some Dymo. Then embellished with sequins and a chippy heart sticker. The black and spotty edge was done with Distress Stain and bubble wrap.

Here's a close up of the Copic coloured wood veneer, I love how easy this is.

Sketch Plus

 Hello Scrappers and Arty peeps

Peg here to share my take on the sketch for this month.

I was lucky enough to spend my birthday in Sydney this year, having a weekend catch up with some girls I had not seen for a very long time.

While there I visited the Ah-maz-ing exibits at the Art Gallery of NSW, always such an inspiring place to see. My page is about that trip but since there were so many pics I did a pocket page to go with the full size 12" x 12".

Materials - Bazzill Marshmallow (heavy weight) cardstock, Dylusions Mica sprays, Dear Lizzy Happy Place patterned papers, Heidi Swapp Color Shine (teal), black Archival inkpad, some tape and distress stain, and theTim Holtz tiny attacher.

Here is a close up of the mica spray coming through the distress ink, so cool!

And here is what the two pages look like side by side.

I used the same patterned papers and added a rosette and wood veneer word as embellies.

Peg's Mood Board Page

Hello Scrappy and Arty peeps!
I have the good fortune to be away at Mixed Media Retreat this weekend with the Boss Lady and a heap of other wonderful arty souls. I have a pile of scrapping challenges ready to go and thought I'd better share with you my layout for the Scrapping Clearly challenge this month. Must say, I loved this colour palette, not usually my thing but so pretty!

I started with white cardstock and some strips of patterned paper, then stamped a Prima girl and tried to water colour her. Having messed that up I thought it would be a great place for my focal point photo. I matted it on these and added two white paper flowers coloured with watered down Dylusions ink spray.

I used the same watered down ink spray, along with Colour Blast paste in Bling (so gorgeous!) through this stencil, to add some highlights to my background.

This foil alpha did for my title.

I journalled with my Motex labeller and added the 'transform' word with a black inkpad through this stencil. Here is my finished page...

Colour Blast Meets Dylusions

 G'day Arty Peeps

Peg here to share a page done with fabulous supplies from Scrapping Clearly.

These pics were taken during a family holiday to Tasmania last year,

so much fun!

Starting with white cardstock I applied Colour Blast paste in Dusty Charcoal through a text stencil. Then added some colours with Ranger Dylusions sprays.

I highlighted my middle photo, in a series of three, using a Heidi Swapp ghost frame attached with brads, and added a strip of the divine Hambly mini graph transparency to ground the set.

The title was done with Scrapmatts banner letters and a Heidi Swapp word sticker from the Christmas set, don't you love that font!

So that's my page.
