2 Friends

A few weekends ago I got together with a few friends to get creative and the current moodboard was perfect to scrap my photo... it was great to create with the girls again - I missed last years get together so it seemed fitting to Scrapbook a photo of two of them just to fit the occasion of catching up with friends.

I used a base of white cardstock and added some Dina Wakley acrylic paint in 'evergreen' by watering it down on a little plastic and kissing the paper to the page. I then used a Vicki Boutin crayon 'set 3' on plastic and added water and had it kiss the page. I then added the 12inch Dylusions Leaf stamp with Ranger black ink.

I added a TCW stencil with some Liquitex modelling paste before working out the placement for my photo and added some wide washi tape before stitching a black border for the photo and a few long lines on the length of the page.

I layered under the photo using project life cards and some loose ephemera and black cotton. I used a green watercolour pencil to colour in the leaves.

I added various metal embellishments and frames to the layout as well as some black bling. I added stickers from the Cocoa Vanilla 'made of awesome' range, Pink Paislee Memorandum range, Thickers 'summertime' range and a chipboard dragonfly.

The layout was completed by adding a black border of stitching and a little side journalling.

I hope you have a weekend filled full of creativity.

Friday art Journal with Michelle.

Hi everyone I am back with my Dina Wakley's 6x6 Journal I am using this little one as a gratitude journal...
I got really messy with Gloss Sprays to create the background on this one:

I used gloss sprays randomly sprayed and splashed around in Lime, Ocean and Marine to get a messy background, then used my mini round gel plate as a stamp with Dina Wakley acrylic paint  in Magenta.

I had some stamped tissue lying around with script on it from the Dina Wakley stamp set Script Elements so attached them to the page with Gel Medium killing 2 birds with one swipe.....clearing trash off my desk and making a background so much more interesting!

I then stamped the face from my fave Dina Stamp set: "Thoughtful Women" and attached it to the page with the same gel medium.

I then set about adding some depth to the stamp using more Marine Gloss spray and scribbles in  black and gold paint pens. It tuned out quite dark so I added a few splashes with the white Gloss Sprays and some highlights with a white gel pen.
I dug through my stash to find the old alpha stickers for the quote and my page was done!
Products used:
Gloss Sprays: Marine Lime, Ocean, & white.
Dina Wakley stamp set Script Elements
Dina Stamp set: "Thoughtful Women"

So that is it from me for now till next week....stay safe y'all!

One Earth - With Karyn Schultz!

Hi Scrapping Clearly Lovelies!

It's Karyn here and today I have an art journal page that I created using lots of fun products available at Scrapping Clearly!

I'm playing along with the June moodboard challenge. We would love for you to join in with this challenge and be in the running to win a Scrapping Clearly store voucher. You have until June 30 and you need to upload your challenge here.

I was also inspired by this image from one of the recent Scrapping Clearly weekly challenges. so I printed it out to use on my page.
This page is created on a cotton rag watercolour page in my 8x10 Dina Wakley Media Journal. I started by creating a watercolour background using some pan paints. I then added blue/green pastes through a stencil. I like to create my own tinted pastes using modelling paste and acrylic paint or pigment powder.

I also added some stamping to my page using black Archival ink and Lavinia stamps Small Stones and Dandelions. I matted my photo on offcuts of papers from the Heidi Swapp Art Walk collection.

I also added a strip from a 13 Arts "Industrial" transparent sheet - acetate/transparent sheets are a great way to add interest to your page without covering up the background.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

In the Trenches

Welcome to another Saturday morning. I have been going through a lot of old photos and found this one of my husband working hard and thought it was a moment in time that probably should be documented for the kids later down the line. I have chosen some old printed paper (as I don't like throwing things away) and just added layers to alter it to get it where I wanted it to be. The current June moodboard worked in perfectly for me to finish up my layout with all the amazing green tones.

I added stamping using a tree and leaf stamp from my collection. Scrapping Clearly has some amazing Tree stamps by Lavinia stamps that I have yet to get my hands and there is a large variety of leaf stamps by Inkadinkadoo on offer in the shop too which would work perfectly for this design also. I  have stamped in Ranger Archival Ink. I have then stitched in black cotton across the page to give the trees a base.

I worked out my photo placement and chose Dusty Attic Foliage chipboard to run across the stitching of the page. I used Gesso on the chipboard and later used my Fudeball to squiggle some lines on as well as adding a little Distress Ink to tone them into the page.

Before adding the photo and layers to the page I wanted to tone down the printed paper. I did this by using Gesso through  the circular stencil and then used Liquitex modelling paste through a Zig Zag stencil.

I bordered the photo with the Fudeball and have sewn a double border around the outer edge.

I layered my photo with a range of Project Life cards. I have added some stickers, brads and American Crafts fonts to help add dimension to the page. I have typed my journalling and used Tea DyeDistress Ink to colour the paper and blend around the edges of the layout. I typed out the journalling and dipped it in a wash of tea dye ink and water so the paper blended with the layout.

I hope you have an amazing weekend and have the opportunity to create something awesome.

Don't forget to upload your challenge entry for June into the Scrapping Clearly Share & Inspire Facebook page album - we love being inspired by your creations xx

Art Journal Friday with Michelle.

Hi Everyone and welcome back!
Today I am sharing a page done in my Dina Wakley small 6x6 Art Journal.
There is nothing much to this page and it came together very quickly, which is a nice change for me!
So here is the page:

"Gypsy Soul".

The background was super simple,,,,just a few squirts of Dina Wakley Gloss Sprays  in  Lemon, Lime, Magenta & Turquoise.
I sprayed the Magenta through a Carbelle Studio Mask:  "Mini Indian Mandala Set" and flipped it in places to use up the excess spray on the mask and get some random pink in the page.

Once the background was dry I used Art by Marlene Boho Chic Stamp on Dina Wakley Collage Tissue, attaching it to the page with Gel Medium. I then added some random script using my latest favourite stamp set Tim Holtz Stamp Set: "Faded Type".

I then discovered that the background was way too busy, with the girls lost in the mix so I pushed it back with a few scrapes of White Gesso and an old fave, Dina Wakley stencil "Shape Mash".
I then fussy cut the girls from a sheet of Jane Davenport Washi Girls stuck them down and added a scribble or two because thats how I roll!

Then it was time for the title.... I used a Scrap FX transparency Sketchy Alpha and stuck it down with more Gel Medium.
Then my page was done, quick and easy as they come!

Products Used:

Dina Wakley Gloss Sprays:  Lemon, Lime, Magenta & Turquoise.
Carbelle Studio Mask:  "Mini Indian Mandala Set"
Tim Holtz Stamp Set: "Faded Type"
Scrap FX Transparency "Sketchy Lower Case"

So that's all from me this week, thanks for dropping by,
see you next week!
