Brighter than bright.... Art Journal page by Amanda Hartmann

 Hello everyone!

Today I share the art journal page I created using my NEW Art by Marlene - Brighter than bright neon water colours. And she is not wrong - the neons are SO bright and beautiful to work with.

I combined the Neon watercolors with:

I used the yellow, green and orange neon paints for this page. {Saving the pink, purple and blue for another day!)

You can layer the colours with these watercolours. You can add more more water to get a lighter tone. You can also make awesome splatters that sit nicely on top of other layers. The watercolour palette is really easy to work with.

I used gel medium to stick the tissue paper to the journal page for some texture.

And I used an old checkboard stencil to with some black ink to fill some gaps on the page with black.

I cannot wait to play some more with these neon paints!

Thanks for looking today!

Amanda

Choosing a Fave - Impossible mixed media tasks with Lisa Oxley

Howdy Bloggers,
Lisa here with my final Scrapping Clearly blog post for the year.
As the year draws to an end, and what a crazy year we have had,
I usually reflect on what I have created throughout the year,
identify key growth elements and attempt to pick some faves.
Its almost like attempting to select a favourite song, or colour!
An utterly impossible task.

Here's just a few of my favourite pieces from the year, and why I selected them.

I like this one because it's the last piece created,
it has a rainbow colour component,
the pointed finger is a long time fave image(monty python fan here),
and its the last page in my blue Dina Wakley media journal, which means I can bust open a new one.

 the details are so sweet

The start of the "men with wings" series.
I never used natural earthy colours, but this called for it.
Its in my "i don't give shit journal" and its made with that in mind.
men with wings.....ahhhhhhh

The left page of the below piece is a clipping from a travel journal which i have extended.
I love the flow from the white page through to the denim substrate of the DWM journal
and how I was able to continue the landscape across the page.
I want to visit this location.
Men with wings........ahhhhhh

Alcohol Inks and stamping with Stazon ink on Ceramics.
awesome effect
fun activity
cool pressie
every piece unique

Rainbows and Love Hearts

When I attempt landscapes and it kind of works.
Dina Journal, awesome substrates

Thanks so much all the wonderful creatives who join us and
visit the Scrapping Clearly blog throughout the year... We do it just for you.
Happiest of Holidays and festive cheer to you all, may your stockings be stuffed full of creative arty supplies to inspire and spark your flow.
I'll be back next year... Bring forth a year of health and happy times.

Oh hey daddio - by Tracey Thorne

Hello crafty friends, I could not resist having another crack at the December moodboard again after my goodies from Kylies last sale arrived yesterday. I have not been able to sit at the craft desk long and from a few of these pics you can tell Gesso was my friend at around 1am this morning when I painted it all white and went to bed.... This morning I felt a little more refreshed and played with a whole heap of Heidi Swapp embellishments and stickers and layered myself into a frenzy.

So the inspirational moodboard is this 👇

Christmas creating is so good... So this is how I started to make my 12x12 layout.
2.I popped some Distress oxides in Twisted Citron & Mowed Lawn on the page.
3. I have used the Vicki Boutin Storyteller stencil pack with some Liquitex light modelling paste over the inks.
4. After creating the layers for the photo stack I positioned this on the page  and drew a line that was then stitched to in black cotton.
5.Some stamping using black ink was done using a darkroom door stamp Abstract.

6.I then started to DOUBT THE PROCESS - the great undoing... white gesso then came out and was painted under the photo placement area and a Vicki Boutin stencil was applied and rubbed off. Gesso was applied to the whole page and a Dot stencil was then applied and paint was lifted - this was left to dry.

7.Tomorrow is a new day

Fresh starts are always good. I have applied some Faber Castell silver Texture Luxe through a TCW stencil -Leaf Album in two places. I have then added some stamping using the Carabelle stamp - Edges in my Journal. Printed papers used in the  photo stack are from Cocoa Vanilla.  I have used embellishments from Heidi Swapp to embellish this page - Old School ephemera, Old School sticker book, Old School cardstock stickers & Old School Thickers.

The finished layout was edged in black using an Stabilo Alls pencil and a little water. I have also used this in the lower texture spaces of the stencil.

I hope you have enjoyed my process from beginning to - OH MY - to the end.

Enjoy your creative process and never ever throw a piece of cardstock away - you can always use it with a good nights sleep and a little imagination and fresh eyes.

'Merry Christmas' with Belinda Spencer

 Happy FriYAY Scrapping Clearly fans!!

Belinda here with you today to share a layout I created inspired by this month's fabulous moodboard and featuring some lovely products from the Scrapping Clearly store.

'Merry Christmas'

Here's a peek at the moodboard.

I started with Cocoa Vanilla Studio More Than Words Precious patterned paper mounted on heavyweight marshmallow cardstock. I added some Liquitex Clear Gesso over the entire surface and let dry. Once dry, I sprayed on some Heidi Swapp Raspberry Colour Shine and spritzed with a bit of water too. I played around with it on the surface and let it drip down the page before drying with a heat gun.

Next I added some stencilling for interest using a Heidi Swapp stencil and some heavy white gesso.

I used some Heidi Swapp Wolf Pack papers to create a layered stack to sit under my photo. I stapled them together in the middle so that I could slip things in the sides later.

I had some sweet black mini doilies in my stash so added those too.

Finally I added my photo and all other embellies. The white stars and the title are by Heidi Swapp. The quote stamps are by Vicki Boutin and the stamped stars are from a Darkroom Door stamp set. I used Archival Ink for my stamping.

Thanks for stopping by the blog today.

Cheers
Belinda

Today, Love, Star - With Karyn Schultz!

Hi Scrapping Clearly Lovelies!

It's Karyn here and today I have a scrapbook page that I created using lots of fun products available at Scrapping Clearly

My background paper is a sheet of Vicki Boutin Lets Wander Collection "Around Here" paper. My photos are all 5cm x 5cm printed with a white border. I've also cut out the polariods from the "Picture Perfect" paper and used these as elements on the page and as photo mats. Lastly I fussy cut a number of flowers from the "Sunshine and smiles" paper to use on the page.

Here are some close-up photos of the page. I've also added some mini white paper doilies, Heidi Swapp acetate words and Heidi Swapp chipboard words.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Sir Theo

Hi everyone and happy crafting Tuesday (that's a thing right?!)

You know when you start with only a vague idea where you're going?

Well, this is what happens.

I got lost in the weeds but eventually made it out the other side!

I started with my go-to white card stock and added some Art Philosophy water color and some Lindy's powders.

I then ripped up some Prima tissue paper and stuck it down with gel medium.

I then added some paint using a brayer but finished up with way too much green

so wiped some off with a baby wipe through a stencil.   I still wasn't happy so I went over entire page with gesso.   In the weeds, right?

While the gesso was drying I went back in with a baby wipe and took off some of the gesso being careful not to take too much or I'd be back where I started.

I then added some more Lindy's powders and some distress inks.   I gave my chippies a light coat of gesso and then sponged on some Distress Ink to the edges and added a little glitter with a glitter Posca pen.

I had everything stuck down then decided my background needed something else so I carefully pulled everything up and added some stamping.

And this is what I finished up with

Products I have used include

Lindy's Stamp Gang Magical Shakers (California Poppy Gold & Cowabunger Copper)
Dina Wakley paint (Lemon, Buff, Evergreen, Ancient)
Vicki Boutin Stencil
Distress Ink (Rusty Hinge & Bundles Sage)
Carabelle Studio stamp scribbled leaves
Fancy Pants Golden Days Cork shapes
Washi tape

TFL
cheers
