Hi all

If you are looking for a fun and funky range of papers and embellishments - a mix of bright and soft colours, with awesome designs, then Happy Place by Dear Lizzy is just for you.

And even more awesome... I went to a class with Dear Lizzy, Liz Karchner herself, so what better photos to use?

I started with a sheet of white smooth marshmallow for the background. For some colour, I smooshed colour to the page with a sheet of plastic and some Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Spray in Pickled Raspberry. I was great to layer the Happy Place transparency Speciality Paper over this colour and I used machine stitching to attach it.

I layered pieces of the Happy Place paper: La La Land , including fussy cutting the polaroid shapes to house the photo and journal. Which of course included a message and signature from Dear Lizzy!

The last NEW thing that I added to finish my page were the super cute American Crafts Amy Tangerine Mini inflated mini hearts, and Prima - Finnabair - Art Pebbles - Sugar. These are just about the sweetest thing to finish a page!

Fancy Lucky by Leonie Neal-Dawson

Well hello and welcome. Leonie here today and are you ready for more Scrappy inspiration?

I have a multi-page layout to share today using papers from the Dear Lizzy Happy place 6x6 paper pad.  Documenting a fun night out with 2 of my sisters and 1 of my neices, so I thought Happy Place papers were an appropriate choice. 

My photos were all fairly similar taken in sequence so I decided to print one a little larger than the other two and make it a feature on the page. 

I layered a paper doiley under the larger photo and clustered flowers, hearts and my title to the right.  The left side was reserved for some typed journalling.

The background is made using Distress Oxide inks and the plastic wrap stamping technique.

The epoxy stickers in the title are from a Heidi Swapp Project life range.

October Moodboard Inspiration

Hello and welcome, Leonie here today with my take on our fresh October Moodboard.

For this moodboard I went about collecting some green papers from the Dear Lizzy Happy Place 6x6" Paper Pad and the Heidi Swapp September Skies 6x6" Paper Pad.  I layered these under my photos 

The chipboard title is from the Bohemian Dreams Cocoa Vanilla Studio collection.

I also added some clear stickers from the Boys Rule Cocoa Vanilla Studio Collection

Making a statement with the central photo in this lot by using a 

Heidi Swapp Favorite Things - Glitter Frame.  

I've also raised the photo and frame with foam tape to further highlight it.

Smile Pretty - a scrapbook layout with Lisa J

Hi Scrapping Clearly friends,

Lisa here today to share a scrapbook layout using Dear Lizzy, Crate Paper and Heidi Swapp.

I started with a base of white cardstock and added some strips of paper across the top third of the page using papers from the Dear Lizzy Happy Place collection (Bananas, Be Free). I added some sprinkles of Heidi Swapp Color Shine in Coral.

I created some layers around my photo with the gorgeous Good Vibes 6x6 paper pad from Crate Paper. I fussy cut some of the elements including tags and mini houses.

 

I inked up some Heidi Swapp diecuts with Distress Oxide Ink in Mermaid Lagoon.

The final touches were some sprinkles of sequins and pink glittery buttons.

#Smile - a layout with Crate Paper Good Vibes

Good morning Scrapping Clearly friends,

Lisa here today to share a scrapbooking layout featuring loads of Crate Paper Good Vibes collection.

How adorable are these Embossed Puffy Stickers. They were the inspiration for this layout.

I started with a base of white cardstock and swiped on some Dylusions Paint in Rose Quartz. I got out one of my favourite Dylusions stencils and added some dots with Dylusions Paint in Peony Blush . My last step was some circles stamped with yellow paint and a lid and some extra pink with this stencil from Dusty Attic.

I cut tags and other embellishments from the Crate Paper Good Vibes 6 x 6 paper pad. I cut a Pom Pom frame in half to highlight my photo, added in some of those sweet embossed puffy stickers and a flair badge from Heidi Swapp's Hello Today Flair badges and buttons. The funky black and white stripe paper is a strip from a plaid paper from Dear Lizzy Happy Place called Top Notch (on sale at the moment - bargain). 

I also added some teeny gold glitter hearts and letter stickers from Heidi Swapp's Memory Planner line. The alphas are such a great size for project life and subtitles. A cute little Geo Tag from these stickers, a date stamp and some typed strips of journalling finished off my layout.

My take on the moodboard, (Part 2) - By Tania

Hi again!! Well, for my previous post here on the blog, I made some die cut embellishments, inspired by the moodboard, using the gorgeous die cut shapes from the Dear Lizzy, HAPPY PLACE collection.

This time, I'm here to share a layout I made using a few of those embellishments and coordinating papers. 

Here's a pic of the embellishments to jog your memory!

And here's the layout!!

I used some small doilies, & patterned paper to anchor my clusters on the page. (The papers are also from the HAPPY PLACE collection.) So, for the cluster at the bottom left of the layout, the only things I added, were a cut doily & patterned paper strip.

I nearly always use the rule of thirds on my layout, the visual triangle as some of you may know it. So I cut my doilies and used 3 of these pieces. The die cut cluster on the right of my page, went on top of the doily and slightly overlapped my photo and backing papers. I only added 1 patterned paper strip to the bottom of the cluster.

The small cluster on the top was made with patterned paper and some hand made embellishments. (A small pair of sunnies, (fussy cut,) and some punched paper dots with Glossy accents added on top.) The word sticker is from the Heidi Swapp, September Skies, word strips.

The title is a Heidi Swapp, watercolour word.

I have added some journaling to the back of the tag which sits behind the photo!

I hope that I've inspired you to play along with our moodboard, and helped you discover an easy way of making a layout come together quickly. All you need is some patterned paper and matching die cuts, and a few other bits and pieces you are sure to have in your crafty stash.

Embellishments made easy with Tania

Hi again lovely Scrappingclearly Community. I had a bit of fun with the moodboard for this post. In all honesty, this week, I have been struggling for craft time due to family visiting from down South, it's kind of hard to get the mojo flowing too when there's a house full of people.

The moodboard this month is so bright and happy and I found the perfect solution to my time poor, mojo poor problem. In my stash from Scrappingclearly, I have a few ephemera packs with bits left over from other projects. The Dear Lizzy, HAPPY PLACE, die cut pack had the perfect colours.

Here's the moodboard:

I started with some scraps from some Maggie Holmes - BLOOM papers and made a few small tags.

Then with my Dear Lizzy, Happy Place, die cut pack, I picked a few matching die cuts and layered them up on my tags! I used mounting tape to add some of the layers for extra dimension!

They were finished off with a few different colours of twine from my stash and a cute little peg from American Crafts!

So now I  have some quick and easy embellishments for my next layout, or they would even make great card toppers!! Be sure to stay tuned to the blog and see how I use these embellishments on my next project!!!

You are my happy - Mood Board Inspiration with Amy Prior

Hi everyone! Amy Prior back with you all again today, this time sharing my take on the current Mood Board challenge which has been designed by the amazing Peg Hewitt! Here is the mood board and you can check out the challenge details by clicking here. 

Here is my take on the challenge for this month:

To create this layout, I have started off with a piece of  American Crafts 12x12 Double Thick white cardstock which I have sprinkled some some amounts randomly of Colour Blast - Shimmer Dust - Peacock, Colour Blast - Shimmer Dust - Lush, and Colour Blast - Shimmer Dust - Navy onto.

I have then sprayed some water over the top of the dry powder to activate the coloured pigment and shimmer. Avoid spraying too much water as you don't want the colours to mix too much with each other. 

If the colour is not intense enough, simply sprinkle some more of the Shimmer Dusts over the top until you get the desired effect. You may need to add more water if there is not enough to activate the additional powder.

If there are chunky areas of powder, simply spray more water on those areas to disperse. When the background is completely dry, spray some more water over the top to get this cool bleached effect. The result is a super fun mottled watercolour background!

I have finished off this layout with various Dear Lizzy - Happy Place - Patterned Papers layered, Dear Lizzy - Happy Place - Die-cut Phrases, alongside some die cuts and flowers from my personal stash.
