Art Creative Friendship - With Karyn Schultz!

Hi Scrapping Clearly Lovelies!

It's Karyn here and today I have a page in my Art Journal that I created using lots of fun products available at Scrapping Clearly!

This was a page I created for the recent cybercrop where I was Inspired by the creations of Emma Zappone. In particular I was inspired by the fact that she doesnt use photos and she often leaves lots of white space.

I've used cotton rag watercolour page in my 8x10 Dina Wakley Media Journal. I started by adding some Colour Blast inks to the page

Next I added stencilling using Colour Blast Pastes. I've kept my colour palate in greens and blues to coordinate with the picture I chose, and added highlights of orange.

Here is my finished page.

I found the picture on Pinterest and printed it out on photo paper. I've matted some old book paper under 2 corners of the photo.

I've added Tim Holtz wings and Tim Holtz small talk word stickers. I've added doodling around the edge of the page and the word stickers using a Fude ball pen

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Virtual Cybercrop Art Journal for Kylie, by Amanda Hartmann

Hi Scrapping Clearly community,

After our epic virtual Cybercrop, I created this album. I made it for Kylie. I hope she receives it in the mail this week!

It started with the awesome circle Acrylic album: https://scrappingclearly.com.au/shop/group-albums/scrapping-clearly-acrylic-album-circle/ - The clear acrylic albums were one of the reasons Kylie started her business and indeed why the shop is called "Scrapping Clearly".

Now, I made this all in such a flurry - I don't always remember what I used - LOL. After each page I will try to list some of the materials. However - I was inspired by so many of the techniques and products that were demonstrated during the Virtual Cybercrop Live videos.

Let's take a look:

Used a square of felt, and stitching with a doily, tissue paper and old crossword paper.

April Moodboard Brights

This months moodboard is amazing and is open to so much interpretation because of all the textures and the fabulous array of colours. I do hope you get an opportunity to create using the prompt for April.

I added colour by spraying a little Dylusions on my messy mat and then watering that down before picking up the colour onto the white cardstock. After I added a colour i then added a little more undiluted. I worked around in a general circle pattern when adding the colour. I have used Dylusions sprays - Lemon Zest, Cut Grass, Peony Blush, Vibrant Turquoise, London Blue, Periwinkle Blue, Squeezed Orange

I have used a Kinder Kreations stencil and a ALLS pencil and a little water to add the next layer to my layout. The black will help the bright colours really pop. Once this was dry I used an UM WOW stencil and a little Liquitex modelling paste over the layout at random places.

As the stencil was only a half design I added some stitching down the centre to 'tie it off' and so that I could add more stitching to the other side. I have opted to sew a black square border to frame my photo on the other side. I have also layered the photo in a little tissue paper and some pink printed paper.

Some of the final touches were using some clear stickers from the Crate Paper range - Maggie Holmes Sunny Days. I have also added some AC Thickers - puffy colourful. The border was done using the Stabilo ALLS pencil, ruler and a little water, hand journalling added using a Fudeball pen.

I hope you have had an amazing weekend and that you will have an opportunity to have a go at this months moodboard - 5 sleeps to go so don't forget to upload your entry to the Facebook page Share & Inspire group April challenge album.

Art Journal Friday!

Hi Everyone...happy Friday to you!
I am back to show you a page in my art journal that features a Dina Wakley stamp that is fast  becoming my favourite to work with!
The stamp is "Thoughtful Women" and I cannot stop using it!!
So here is the page out of my Art BY Marlene Journal:

This page started as a paint smear using up left over paint from a previous project. The colours are all Dina Wakley Heavy Body Acrylic in Sky, Magenta, Blushing, Cheddar and night.
I used the Magenta Paint to add random print to the page, through an old Dina Wakley Stencil called "Affirmations"...this added some interest and cohesion to the background.

I stamped the main focal image onto Dina Wakley's White On White Backgrounds collage Tissue with Archival ink, you can just see the white print peeking through. I then attached it to the page using Gel Medium Under and over the image.
I then went in and scribbled over the image with a Stabilo All pencil and black and white paint pens.

I added some "stitching" by using the Scrap FX "Sewing" rice paper and gel medium in random places and the used a stamp to add more script around the page.
Lastly I used Dina Wakley Gloss Spray in Night and Magenta to add a few splatters and my page was done!

Products Used:
Dina Wakley Stamp: "Thoughtful Women"
Dina Wakley Heavy Body Acrylic: Sky, Magenta, Blushing, Cheddar and Night
Dina Wakley Stencil: "Affirmations"
Dina Wakley Gloss Spray: Night, Magenta.
Scrap FX Rice Paper: "Posing Ladies"
"Sewing"
And that is all from me for today, I hope I have inspired you a little to get back into a little art this weekend....till next week my friends!
