Building antibodies by Tracey B

Hi everyone

Here's another one I prepared earlier

After years of lockdown I finally made it ti Qld to visit my sister-in-law - only to both catch Covid and have to isolate. At least we could do it together!

I started with some Light & Fluffy through a Kaisercraft stencil and then added some colour with some Finnabair Mica powder and Neo II crayon (Salmon).

I used Cocoa Vanilla These Days puffy stickers, mini puffy alphabet and stickers only with 13@rts Summer Rhapsody ephemera.

Here's to You by Tracey B

Nearly 30 years ago I jumped onto a Contiki bus in Europe and plonked myself down next to Lindal.   We were chatting so much the person in the seat behind asked how long we had been friends.   We both answered "Minutes!"

I started this background by scrapping through some Light & Fluffy modelling paste through a leaf stencil.   This is my absolute favourite modelling paste.   It's so light it dries really quickly which is just brilliant.

I added some Lavinia stamps with Distress ink Black Soot and some Prima Confections water colour paint using the packaging technique.

I used Vicki Boutin Story Teller patterned paper and tulle to matt my photo and then added some clusters of embellishments including flowers, stamens, chipboard buttons, a bow, brads and twine.

The title was inspired by the poem Lindal and I made up

(alcohol may have been involved - no judgement please :))

Here's to you and here's to me

Best of tent mates we'll always be

And if by chance you disagree

Well f*** you and here's to me.

 cheers

Breathe by Tracey B

 Hi everyone

I've missed a couple of weeks on the blog as I've been travelling around the countryside.   I still managed to get some crafty time in but didn't have the technical skills to blog :(

Because I was travelling I had limited supplies which was a good thing as I was forced to use what I had and make the most of everything. (I had bought my great nephews stress balls - the kind you squeeze and gloop bubbles out through the mesh.   When the balls broke I rescued the mesh and used that on my Be Daring layout - coming soon)

I started with one of my scrap backgrounds that had some left over Dina Wakley  paint through a stencil.   Check out all the colours including the new ones here.
I then doodled some free hand ferny shapes using a green and black posca pen.

I then added some more colour in the background using Prima Confections water colour paints.   These are a fabulous compact size when travelling.

I did a tiny bit of stamping using a Lavinia stamp and then a little cluster including a Heidi Swapp bow, some leaves, tulle and stamens.   I finished off with some 7 Pages alphas

TFL and happy crafting

cheers

Tracey

Colour Outside the Lines - By Emma Zappone

Hi, Emma with you all this lovely Thursday.
The project that I'm sharing with you today is inspired by this months mood/sketch.
It is such a great sketch and features absolutely fab colours.

Here is the inspo....

The products I chose to use also helped make this project easy to put together. You can see it all come together in the video that I have made for you.

It seems to be by nature lately in the creating world, for me to again play with 49 & Market rub-ons and elements. They were perfect for this sketch. Plus I added some cool rub-ons by Tim Holtz too.

The background was the good old smooshing technique using Mica powders by Finnabair.
My chipboard was painted with Dina Wakley acrylic in Cheddar.
A glorious orange hue.

I finished the whole page off with some green paint flick using Distress Oxide in Twisted Citron.

I would love you to check out the process video here.....

I love playing with colours I wouldn't usually play with. I hope this has inspired you to play along, you have another week to get your projects in 😉

Have a great week everyone.

Stay Crafty, Em xx

18 years of awesome by Tracey B

 Hi everyone

As I transition to retirement (yay!) I'm having a lot of time off work and travelling around the countryside in my campervan so I'm trying to create layouts using minimal supplies. (Knew I should have bought a bigger van!)

I had plans to do something a little different and use a sheet of patterned vellum as my background but when I added some water colour paint, the vellum buckled.   Instead I die cut the painted vellum with a Paper Roses die (Hud) to use as embellishments.

I matted my photo with some Heidi Swapp Honey & Spice patterned paper and them some Vicki Boutin Storyteller paper.

I added a Heidi Swapp fabric bow and some Heidi Swapp Stationary Busswords.   The rest of my title is some very old October Afternoon alphas.

Travelers Notebook - 'Believe in Yourself' with Emma Zappone

 Happy Thursday SC fam!
Today I share another TN with you.
This weeks prompt is 'toothbrush paint flick' or I guess just paint flicking.......
I love this prompt, it's fun. Check out the video for my pages here to see how I got my finish.

I kept it pretty simple, using 49&Market products mostly. I added a little strip of Tim Holtz Rice paper I have had in my stash for years. Then I lightly added a dry brush of white Gesso to soften the paper and background.

I also added a Rubon from the Spectrum Sherbet 49&Market collection on the left side of the pages to use as colour palette for this page. Before I added the embellishments, I added colour with Art Philosophy watercolour inks. This was added in 2 ways, First with a toothbrush (the prompt) which gave a small fine mist of colour over the pages and then with my trusted flicking paintbrush which gave the larger colour splats.

The leaves and butterflies are from the 49&Market Spectrum Sherbet Acetate leaves pack. And my slightly dodgy title is a rubon from the same pack as earlier mentioned. Finally I finished the pages off with some black ink flicked over. I think the pages are relatively simple yet effective.

Join me over on YouTube to see it all come together.

Catch you again soon.
Em xx
