'Be Yourself' - with Emma Zappone

Hello Everyone!

It's been a little time between projects for me, but I'm popping in to share a mood board inspired canvas with you today. You have all enjoyed an amazing Long Weekend of creativity with all the awesome challenges, but have you had a chance to play with the April Mood board yet?

Here is my take....

And here is the beautiful Mood board.....

The colours are simply stunning and totally my vibe!
I also used a couple of sheets from the 'Industrial Revolutions' Foundations Pack.

I focused on the circles from one of the sheets, this really helped my composition come together well.

I even repurposed some packaging from some ribbon I had used up.

The fabrics used are also from Lucky Findings Fabric Shreds I have used some from Earthly Riches & Very Peri, I love the softness they add to a project.

I just adore this months board and the it was a joy to create this project after quite some time of not feeling any creativity.

I hope you get the chance to create along with this challenge too.

'Dream Chaser' by Emma Zappone with VIDEO

Welcome to my Thursday share.
I have an 8x10" canvas with VIDEO for you today.
It is based on this months Palette Play 'Natures Bounty'

I'm not going to lie, this Palette excited me, as I love browns and greens. The earthy feel this has is sensational.

I had fun mixing and matching some of the Lucky Findings papers for this project.
And I love the effect the transparency from the 'Earthly Riches' collection has for the background.

I love how it looks like a large stamped area.
I also added papers from the 'Velveteen Elk' collection, they matched the Earthly Riches range just beautifully. There is also a layer of a 'Ciao Bella' rice paper to compliment all the layers.

I loved adding all the textural elements also. Like the resin wings and gear elements. 
They added a little edge to the project. 

The ticket elements are a variety of pieces from all different Tim Holtz Ideaology tags, tickets and ephemera. I just rummage through and choose pieces that compliment the colour scheme.

And my project wouldn't be mine if it didn't have some 49&Market on it. Leaves & Butterflies are always a must.

Catching up with my ATC's - with Emma Zappone and with VIDEO

Happy Thursday all! 
Em with you today, popping in for a quick share and a catch up.
How are you all going with the ATC's? They pull you out of the comfort zone, don't they?
They do me, and I love it!
I have found that I love that they don't need to be complicated and that is very freeing, plus I'm still creating when time is poor.
Here is my take on week 5's - 'Mythical Creatures'.

I knew I wanted to add this awesome resin piece, but still wanting to use some 49&Market (as this is my challenge for the ATC's).
I have a video for these creations so you can see them coming to life.

I used some Rub ons and Distress Oxides for the background. The wings are 49&Market and the legs are from Tim Holtz's paper dolls that I cut off. 
So I created my own mythical being.

Week 6 ATC - 'Under Water World' got me a little more stuck. 
And then it came to me - ABM!!!

So This started with 49&Market Rub ons again, using the music notes, as I thought it could represent a 'sirens' song. 
Then i smooshed oxides onto the background, quick and easy.
Then started to layer my ABM diecuts, creating a bright, under sea vibe.
This is also on the video.

'Always Stay Curious' by Emma Zappone

Happy Thursday friends.
Today I have cheated a little and I'm sharing a project that I made LIVE for the Aus. Day cyber crop.
It suits this months Palette Play really well, so I thought why not share.

This project titled 'Always stay Curious' features mostly 49&Market products, which you can find in Kylie's amazing store.
I also added some Tim Holtz leaves and papers that blended in with the 49&Market.

I love digging around my stash to see what will compliment each other.
Plus it's always a great way of using up pieces that we seem to accumulate.

'Choose To Shine' by Emma Zappone

Happy Thursday friends.
Emma with you today and I'm sharing an Art Journal with you this week, and it has a little VIDEO too.

This page features plenty of goodies. A lot has been inspired by this months affirmation board and the wonderful Foundations pack 'Velveteen Elk'. It has Finnabair and 49&Market Rub-ons to bring some softness and cohesion to the whole look.

I loved using the transparency behind the image, it made for a whimsical and magical creature vibe.

Of course with Tim Holtz being a feature in this weeks additional challenge, I had to use some of his products. The ruler stencil is his as is the 'Choose To Shine' quote chip. And this page has a little distress oxides working it's magic on this page too.

'Beauty in Simplicity' by Emma Zappone with VIDEO

Hello Hello.
Em with you all today. Today's share is 9"x9" Layout. I have been so excited to play with this months board as well as this beautiful 'Velveteen Elk' foundations pack. So excited I made a process video too.
 

I used a variety of products, mainly 49&Market, but a variety that really complimented this foundation pack and colouring.

I created layers behind my image from the pack using the washi sheet just as it was, tearing it as it's thick enough. I also did this to the rice paper and cut a piece from the reinforcement ring sheet as well.
You can see this in more detail in the video.

I love these windows from Tim Holtz, and just had to use one in this project. The colours in this pack suit me perfectly, and inspire me a lot. 
I used 49&Market Rub-ons from a few different collections, choosing the ones that would fit this layout best. And there are resin castings in the mix, of course.

The image used in this project is one I found on Pinterest, I unfortunately couldn't find the original artist, but these images are just amazing!!

'Normal is Boring' by Emma Zappone

Hello Thursday everyone!
Em with you today sharing a layout using a couple of substrates from the Peiskos foundations pack and more stash busting.

I was totally inspired by the gold in this months affirmation board. And because I still had plenty of papers left in my Peiskos pack, thought these should definitely feature in the project. I found this awesome image on Pinterest and loved the blues in it. So I wanted to make the mood board colours work along with the blue, gold and regal tones, and I feel it does 😉

I have really enjoyed creating my own backgrounds this year, and I have loved rummaging around in all my product, using papers and embellishments that would not normally be put together. So this page features product by Stamperia, Tim Holtz, 49&Market, Finnabair and more. 

Often when I get a new mould set, I make a couple of sets, so I always have 'embellishments' at the ready. I have used a mix of Art Alchemy acrylics and Waxes on the resins. I love the detail shown on the resin on this page.

This year, I have also found enjoyment with the process of fussy cutting. Quietly sitting and tracing around with scissors is very therapeutic. Plus it allows me to develop more layers and visual interest to my creations.

Move On - Created by Emma Zappone

 Hello Hello!
Em with you today, and I'm sharing a layout with you this week.
I did draw just a little inspiration from the January Affirmation board too, and this page used lots of old goodies from my stash that needed to be played with.

Let's look at the affirmation board and see how I dissected it.

This week I chose to focus on the eye, shades of green, some lace and what I had left of the 'Aliferous' paper. Yes, the colours did detour a bit, but I do love the outcome.

Let's talk some product. I had green in mind when choosing my pieces. So I went through my many many products and pulled out green things, starting with Tim Holtz idea-ology paper. And the left overs of a sheet of the Aliferous rice paper. I then needed 'embellishments' or pieces that layered. So I fussy cut elements from Stamperia's Amazonia collection. This also introduced colour that led me to use this stunning image that the layout is centered around. 

While fussy cutting I pulled out the Vintage Butterflies transfer sheet by Dress my crafts, and once transferred, fussy cut that stunning large butterfly out. Resin castings are also used from a variety of different moulds. These are painted with Art Alchemey Metallic - Dark Forest, and highlighted with Finnabair wax - Rich Copper, my fave. 

Once everything was glued down, then came the colour on the background. I used a variety of sprays in my collection to get the desired effect. Then I finished it off with an Aall & Create stamp - 'Scripted Thoughts' with some Staz-on ink in 'Spiced Chai.'

That's it. Lots of mixed up products resulting in a fun, and what I feel is a rather striking layout.

'Adventure is Worthwhile' by Emma Zappone

Hello there.
Em with you today, and today's share is an Art Journal page which was created with all Tim Holtz products. It was fun to create with layered stamps and rub on transfers.
And the great thing is you can see it all in my YouTube video.

I used some older stamps I have in my stash that are a ticket style to style my background and then a cling stamp which features a flower to add another layer.

I then used a few Remnant Rubs amongst the stamped layers. This was cool as it added another shade of black into the background mix.

The image is from a set of Idea-ology Snapshot cards that I fussy cut and then layered with ephemera from Idea-ology pack 102.  This pack is full of tickets and envelopes and more. 

For the colour in the background, I chose to use Distress Crayons on an acetate sheet to add just subtle colour. the colours also were chosen to compliment the ephemera pieces.

The quotes are from  a small talk pad and are such easy ways to add quotes and phrases to any page.

Finally once everything was stuck down, I added a splash of Black Liquitex ink.

A simple yet effective page. Check out the video to see each layer come together.
