Happy FriYAY Scrapping Clearly peeps!
It's Belinda here today to share what I am doing with my fabulous Arts Inc Travellers Planner this year. Now I am notoriously bad at sticking to a planner or journal but this Arts Inc one is so gorgeous that it makes me want to.
Here's a peek at the different planners:
Gorgeous aren't they? I am working with the Slate Grey one and it comes with 4 signature inserts and a plastic pocket page for storing all of your little embellishments/stickers etc as well as a business card holder. Each of the 4 signatures has different paper inside: kraft, graph, blank and dot. I chose to start with the dot grid notebook.
I am keeping the decoration of my pages fairly simple with mostly a lot of stamping but I am also adding patterned papers, stickers and other things. On the cover of the notebook above, I added some stamping using the Tim Holtz Specimens Stamp Set as well as the sweet little Inkadinkadoo Branches Stamp Set. I always stamp with Archival Ink Jet Black as it is waterproof and I never know what I might do next! I cut the cute typewriter image from some Vicki Boutin Storyteller patterned paper, added a white cardstock matte and added a stamped title using Darkroom Door stamps. You can find the list of all products used at the end of this post. There are a lot of them!
SO this is my title page. I first added some patterned paper cut to size. I added it using some Heidi Swapp Magic Medium. In my haste I didn't stop to read the fine print which said 'OPAQUE'. Oops!! However it did give a lovely finish by muting the patterned paper somewhat. Once it was dry I added some Tim Holtz tissue paper (this time I used Liquitex Matte Medium because it dries clear). I finished by stamping some of the Inkadinkadoo branches around the edges. I also added the title using Darkroom Door stamps. There is also a Tim Holtz Remnant Rub rub-on and the little 'carpe diem' is from the Carpe Diem Roller Stamp. I used a black Posca Pen to add a messy border which you will see on all of the pages.
I decided to add a week to each double page spread so this is the first week. I used a strip of the pretty patterned paper from the cover at the top of this page. I added a Tim Holtz Remnants piece and added it to the right hand page using a sticker from the Daily Deco Stickers (ver. 3 - retro). The rest is stamping and a little bit of doodling as well as some stickers at the bottom of the right hand page. PLEASE NOTE: The Archival Ink did bleed through the page a little so I remedied that on the next page by using some patterned paper. If you are trying this for yourself please be aware that certain inks/pens may bleed through the paper.
For week 2, I wanted to create opening up flaps to add a little privacy to the journalling. I used some Vicki Boutin patterned paper to do this. At the moment my kids and I are just staying home to be safe as my son is immuno-compromised. So this page represents this. I stamped on the fabulous Dina Wakley Media Tape, tore it into pieces and added to the flaps. I was inspired by The Walking Dead when I did this. If you are a mega fan of that show like me, you will remember the "Don't Open Dead Inside" written on the hospital doors in the very first episode. That is what I pictured when I created this. I may be a little warped and I am cool with that!! LOL
Inside the flaps, I have decorated with stencilling, stamping, patterned paper and Tim Holtz Remnants again. I used the Tim Holtz Anatomy Chart stamps to represent all of the ct scans, x-rays and ultrasounds that my son has had during his cancer battle as this week included a review appointment with his oncologist.
I have prepared some pages in advance, ready to add my journalling in the hopes that I will stick to using my planner!! The next page is basically just stamping at this stage using Vicki Boutin and Darkroom Door stamps with the Jet Black Archival Ink. The cute stamping does entice me in so I am looking forward to adding in this week. I also am quite tempted to colour in all of that stamping. I may actually do that in the car at school pick up time when school goes back to keep me occupied (and so I don't nod off!! LOL).
So because of the stamping on the previous page, I added in some patterned paper to cover up the bleed through. I added the Tim Holtz eye chart Remnant as I have booked an appointment at an optometrist for my kids and myself this week to get our eyes checked. That lifts up so I will probably journal under there about our results. On the facing page, I added a couple of little doodled houses to co-ordinate with the patterned paper.
