Fabulous with Belinda Spencer

It's Belinda here today to share my latest layout created for Scrapping Clearly featuring lots of awesome product from the store.

For this layout I have used the stunning Colour Study collection by Vicki Boutin. I love the beautikful bold and bright colours in this range. Here I have stuck mostly to the lemon and lime coloured patterned papers and embellishments.

I started my layout by adding Colour Blast Colour Inks in Citrus and Lime to my page. I spritzed with a little water and then placed a piece of plastic packaging over the top to spread the colour out. I dried it off with a heat gun before moving on to the stencilling. 

I applied some of the Lime Colour Ink to the piece of plastic packaging and swiped a stencil through it. I then stamped the stencil onto the layout. I did this a few times until I was happy with the coverage. I completely dried the page with a heat gun and thenadding some stamping. I used various stamps from the Darkroom Door Number Medley Rubber Stamp Set along with Tim Holtz Twisted Citron Distress Oxide.

I added my photo on a layered stack of co-ordinating patterned papers from the range as well as all of the embellishments scattered across the page in a somewhat random way. 

I used the Stamps from the Colour Study range to create some embellishments. I stamped them onto the same papers as the photo stack and then fussy cut.

I fussy cut some pretty butterflies from a Scrap FX Transparency sheet too.

Christmas in July with Belinda Spencer

 Hello Scrapping Clearly fans!!

It's Belinda here today to share my Christmas in July Cybercrop projects. For my projects I chose to bind together some Heidi Swapp Memory Files and create a junk journal. I used the Believe Christmas collection by Heidi from when I attended a workshop here in Adelaide as well as some papers from the Dreamy 6"x6" Paper Pad.

Sadly, as we were in lockdown in Adelaide at the time of the cybercrop, I didn't get as many projects completed as I had hoped. I had to compete for computer time and with everyone home it seemed like I was forever making meals!! Anyway, I will continue to work on it and hopefully have it finished by Christmas in December!!

Challenge One

For this page I used a smaller memory file from the Heidi Swapp Christmas range. There are newer Christmas collections that are equally as gorgeous now. Check out the Oh What Fun and Winter Wonderland collections in the shop. I used Chartreuse Colour Shine on the background as well as a stencil and stamps by Darkroom Door.

I layered some of the patterned papers together and added embellishments from the range as well as a Kaisercraft gold paper doily, a Charms Creations embellishment as well as buttons. I finished with a title created from Dusty Attic chipboard.

Challenge Two

For Challenge Two, I wanted to document how we usually end up at the beach on Christmas Day. Well we used to before Covid. Now we stay home.

I created this page pretty much the same way as the first one. The same Colour Shine and patterned paper range. I tore the papers to represent the waves breaking on the beach. I also added a fabulous 6"x6" Heidi Swapp die cut paper. I tore the die cut paper into strips so I could use it on multiple pages. 

Again I used Charm's Creations embellishments, Darkroom Door stamps and a stencil and Dusty Attic chipboard as well as a Colour Magic star die cut from the Believe collection.

Challenge Three

For Challenge Three I used the softer, pastel colours from the colour wheel. The background paper is from the Heidi Swapp Art Walk Paper Pad. I added some Patina Colour Shine on the background and used some gesso with a Darkroom Door stencil.

Next I chopped up some papers from the Dreamy 6"x6" Paper Pad and layered them together. I added some of the torn starry 6"x6" Die Cut Paper too.

I finished it off with a few strategically placed embellishments.

Well that is all I managed to complete. I am looking forward to working through the remaining challenges and will share those next Friday.

 Hello Scrapping Clearly fans!!

It's Belinda here today to share my latest project featuring awesome goodies from the Scrapping Clearly store.

To start this layout, I cropped a sheet of the fabulous Marshmallow heavy weight cardstock and mounted onto a sheet of Studio Calico 2 Seven Paper. I spritzed the page with a little water followed by Heidi Swapp Colour Shine in Navy. I sprayed the Colour Shine directly onto a Vicki Boutin stencil and stamped the stencil onto the page too.

Next I created a paper stack using patterned paper and tags from the Teresa Collins Urban Market collection.

I added some stamping to the background using the Darkroom Door Number Medley Stamps Set with Cobalt Archival Ink. I used my paper stack as a guide so that I knew where to add the stamping.

I added my paper and photo stack to the layout along with a torn piece of the Heidi Swapp 6"x6" Die Cut Papers and half a frame from the Urban Market Chipboard Elements. I stamped a few cute hearts too using a Heidi Swapp Mini Stamp and the same Cobalt ink.

I finished by adding the title fussy cut from Urban Market patterned paper, stickers, chipboard elements and sequins.

Be BRAVE! by Emma Zappone

Hope you are all having an amazing long weekend so far!
And the weekend is only going to ramp up with the Cybercrop tomorrow! 
Today I'm sharing an A4 layout/journal page with you. And I have gone a little grungy.

I have wanted to use this image i found on Pinterest for sooooo long. And finally today's project was calling for it! 
My first layer started with a sheet from Art by Marlenes Collage paper - artsy Arabia. I made it a little stronger by adhering it to a sheet of cardstock. Then using Dylusions Glorious Blooms stamps, stamped on smooth white cardstock and coloured them in using Copic markers.

Then I felt I needed to add a little texture. So I stapled some old book paper and muslin off to the side that my final composition was going to go.

Now came the colour an that grunge feel. Using Dylusions acrylic paints and a palette knife I started spreading colours around the page along with Black Gesso. The colours I chose to match the background were - Vibrant Turquoise, Funky Fuchsia and Peony Blush.

It still needed another lot of layers. So using a number stencil by Darkroom Door and archival Black ink and a blending tool I added stencilling. Then stamped a triangle stamp from Darkroom Door as well.

Here are more close ups of the finished project. 

The title consists of  Ideology Quote chips and Small talk stickers. And the big roman numerals are resin moulds that are primed with black Gesso and then I rubbed a selection of  Waxs over them.

I had so much fun creating this page and I finally felt rather free in my creative space. Yes my hands were messy, but it felt oh so good!

Hayley 2020 Junk Journal...by Belinda Spencer

It's Belinda here today to share my latest project featuring lots of awesome supplies from the Scrapping Clearly store.

Today I am sharing what I am doing with the fabulous Scrap FX Chevrons Junk Journal. I absolutely LOVE these journals. I love the mix of different papers and that you can choose to put it together however you wish. For my journal, I replaced some pages with patterned papers from the Vicki Boutin Kaleidoscope collection and decorated other pages with the same papers.

Here's a peek at what I have created so far in this junk journal dedicated to my darling daughter and what she got up to in such a difficult year not only with Covid but our own personal struggles with our son's health crisis. I am so thankful to have such a kind, thoughtful and helpful daughter.

'Hayley 2020 Junk Journal'

Here you can see some of the supplies I used. Well these are the ones I started with anyway. I tried to stick to the fabulous products above but I have added in a few things here and there; some from my stash. I find when I am working on a journal like this that I grab whatever is on my desk and add that in too. Even when I was photographing what I have completed so far, I found myself thinking I could add more to the pages. And I probably will down the track! I have only completed the first 6 months so there's still time to add more!

I found the journal was pretty easy to put together. I was already familiar with how to make my own journal but even a newbie should be able to put it together with minimal fuss. You just need to make sure you have the creases of all the pages lined up nice and tight before you start poking holes and stitching it together. The kit comes with all the instructions to make life easy.

For the title page I diluted some Dylusions Vibrant Turquoise Paint and painted onto the page with a large soft paintbrush. I tried not to add too much water to the page as I knew it was going to warp but I don't really mind the warping. The papers in the journal are not really designed for too much water/wet medium but you can always add in some mixed media/watercolour paper. I applied the Art By Marlene All The Circles Cling Stamp over the top using Aquamarine Archival Ink. I stamped some leaves and the bird from the Vicki Boutin Stamp & Die Set onto book paper using Jet Black Archival Ink and then fussy cut them. I added double sided tape to the back of the book paper before I fussy cut the images to strengthen the book paper before I cut it. This also means that once it is cut out you have an instant sticker ready to add to your page. Much easier than messing around with glue.

I covered the front cover with some stunning paper from the Vicki Boutin Kaleidoscope range. I stamped a mandala from the Art By Marlene Mandala Tapestry Stamp Set and then punched a patterned paper circle to add to the middle. I stamped the year in the circle. I added some stickers and the title using Thickers.

And now we come to the January pages. On the left hand side I stamped some flowers from the Vicki Boutin Stamp & Die Set. I painted loosely around them with Jane Davenport Watercolours Brights Palette. I stamped some leaves on book paper, fussy cut and added them to the page. I used the Heidi Swapp Old School ABC Stamp Set for the 'January'. I used the Darkroom Door Sketched Alphabet Stamp Set for the 'Fire' title.

I created a flap on this page to add my journaling documenting the bushfire we had in our town and how we had to evacuate as the smoke got a little too close for comfort.

In February I have focussed on the kids' tennis training and competition. I love the different sized, interesting pages that are included in this set. I added in the patterned paper page that you can see on the left hand side but the cute little page with the tab on the side is part of the kit. The tabbed page is a fairly sturdy cardstock so I swiped it through some Distress Oxide and spritzed water on my craft sheet and there was hardly any warping. I did this after I put the journal together. It would be a lot easier to plan your journal out beforehand and do this step before putting it all together. That's not how I roll though! I figure stuff out as I go. LOL

In March things got too scary Covid-19 wise so I took my kids out of school and kept them safe at home with me. This was our first time homeschooling and it went really well. Luckily my kids are self starters and just stuck to their regular school timetable.

I have used mostly patterned paper from the Kaleidoscope range here to decorate the pages. There are some stickers too from the collection. On the right hand side I used some Darkroom Door stamps too including Lots of Labels and Diary Dates. Oh and I like to add messy borders around the pages too using a black journaling pen.

In April our world came crashing down around us with our son's health crisis and we began a new normal of living at the hospital. This page documents how well Hayley handled the whole crappy situation and what a champion she is.

The kit comes with a sheet of patterned transparency that I really love. I added minimal decoration on this piece as I liked it just as it was. I simply added a strip of patterned paper, stamped the month on it and added some love heart stickers.

On the other side of the transparency page I added another strip of patterned paper and decorated with more Kaleidoscope stickers. I still need to add something more to this page. I'm thinking a quote of some sort or maybe 'May' using Thickers or stamps. The photo page is another patterned paper one that I have added into the journal. I have added my photo as well as stickers to decorate this page.

May is Hayley's birthday month so of course I had to add another couple of pages. I used some Heidi Swapp Photo Corners on my photo and added a banner sticker over the top. I added some stamping and stickers as well.

The die cut page on the right came with the kit but here I have covered it with patterned paper. This page documents Hayley's first proper test while homeschooling and I added a little flap with journaling inside.

Finally the June pages! I covered the other side of the die cut page with patterned paper again. This time when I covered it I folded the patterned paper and cut around it again to create a little booklet. I still need to add the month in and a few more elements but I will share that and the rest of the journal soon
