Howdy blog lovers, Lisa here with a Sunday Scrapping Clearly mixed media update.

My 3 day weekends, with 7 weeks lockdown have me filling my journals rather quickly.

While attempting to use up my stash, I busted out some Art By Marlene die cut pieces, and what colourful fun one can create with these beauties.

"It's time to move on."

Using up the Collage Fodder with Lisa Oxley

Howdy Bloggers, Lisa here with a Sunday Scrapping Clearly blog update.

I love creating in a smaller size that the standard journals,

 there is something liberating when creating on different substrates and sized elements.

This is a great way of creating fun quick pages and getting rid of ephemera and collage elements,

 tags or artist trading cards made previously.

I'm sure, I am not the only one who has too much stuff laying on the table, in bags, containers............ that really needs to go somewhere.

All those gel prints, the atcs, the collected fodder, the pieces/pages/bits put away for something spesh.

Bust them out, Its time.

I started with a large cardstock tag and combined a few random pages which

included pages from Dina Wakley's Collage Collectives.

I kept the pages to 4 to 5 sheets, depending on the weight of the paper,

 scored the centre line and stapled at 2 points along the spine.

I've included collected elements like this beautiful section from this years NAIDOC 2021 poster.

The 2021 National NAIDOC Poster, 'Care for Country' was designed by Gubbi Gubbi artist Maggie-Jean Douglas.

I've had this quirky fabric skeleton patch forever..... finally a place for it to live.

The right hand page is from Dina Wakleys' Collage Collective, with a Tim Holtz time piece added, the page left is mine.

We are forever collecting different images, some are just made to sit together.

 There is a real freedom to play and enjoy smaller spaces when working in a mini art journal.

Especially ones that have a different format or substrates.

Failure is Success in Progress- Art Journal with Lisa Oxley

Ah, the moment of being able to release and "let go", to internally whisper "freedom" to your self and give to your art again by re-embracing ones creative passion.

After some much needed, unforeseen downtime, I'm pick up my brush again with the freedom to acknowledge and celebrate the knowledge that "Failure is Success in Progress".

Wrapping up the #100dayproject2021 with Lisa Oxley

Howdy Folks, Lisa here with a Sunday Scrapping Clearly update.

Firstly, to all the Mumma's out there celebrating today.

Happy Mothers Day, to all the incredible mothers and mother substitutes. For those who don't have their mum here, those who want to be a mum but can not, for those who are about to become a mum, 

 May you all be showered with heart love, hugs and goodness from those you call your loves.

Celebrate those who nurture your passions, protect and endow wisdom. They are the true Hero.

Today is day 99 of the #100dayproject, and as I count down another year of this challenge, I am happy to be one day away and have a plethora of new work under my creative belt.

This year I created all pieces of canvas board, to make available for interested folk to purchase the original piece. I'm so happy to say that at day 99, I have only 34 pieces remaining with me and I am so very grateful to those special folk who connected to each and every piece.

Updating old creative pieces with Lisa Oxley

Howdy Bloggers, Lisa here with a Sunday Scrapping Clearly mixed media update.

Something a little different today. 

Creating for the #100dayproject has its grips on my creative heart, but sometimes one Has to create something a little different for the soul.

Case in point below.

This paint brush has been in my finished pieces for years, 

shabby chic dressed and ready for dust collection..

Recently I came across an artist on Instagram @hannahroseillustrations who 

is painting eyes on paint brushes.

Hello Inspiration, and welcome an old piece, remade for a more up to date me.

A layer of textured paste and another of gesso and I was good to go.

Acrylic paints make the biggest impact.

It even falls into line with next months More Than words challenge...

But I thought Id share it here, and made another for MTW.

Maybe take a look at your old creative pieces, and see if there is something you can tweak.

Bust Out your Colouring Books. Art Journal fun with Lisa Oxley

Today I'm sharing a couple of pieces from my #100dayproject2021, with which I have busted out a rogue colouring book(I do not colour in), and found a few things to use on my pages.

Obviously the feather and the main focal point has added 

wonderful flow and drama to this piece.

It is really quite easy to find a simple image, add colour and create drama.

For this piece below, the circle elements are cut directly from the colouring book page, and a section of gold leaf to add a sparkle to background detail.

Peg had made these 2 journals for us to pass back and forth between ourselves, and over time , they have both landed in my space.

When I am not creating for the #100dayproject,

 I really like to just play and experiment with whats on the table, or takes my fancy, and these little books of inspirational joy assist the flow.

My Heart on Show. -Mixed Media Sunday with Lisa Oxley

Today I'm NOT sharing a #100dayproject piece,

 but rather a few warm up pieces I have completed over the last week..

Here's the story, before i create for the project,

 I try and do a warm up just to get my head in the creative game.

Ive been following Lewis Rossignol for a few years on Instagram and his style is utterly freeing .

He is currently being hosted with an online class here..

although I haven't joined up YET. I definitely intend too.

Inspired by Lewis, here are a few piece.

Pens are Lewis's bag, so I collected a few different sized pens and then a few more out and went for it.

This year has started a little early, which is all good, considering we are still not back to normal living as of yet.This should allow just a little time to give to yourself in some way. For me, its creative time.
