'Be AmAzing' by Emma Zappone

Hello everyone, Em with you all today.
How good are these Mood Affirmation boards!! And it's great to be able to use the Lucky Findings 'Peiskos' range this month. I love the layers and depth that Kylie has created in this collection. And I LOVE that it has pushed me out of my comfort zone using colours I would never use or put together. Oh and I have a short video too 😉

Let's check out the Affirmation board too....

Look at all that richness!
 The colour in the flowers of the washi sheet included in this pack are what inspired the colour. they are a little brighter than in the board but it showcases another substrate in these packs. I chose acrylic paints from Art By Marlene and Dylusions to match. I also embraced my dear friend Tammy while creating this page, her use of colour and paint are amazing.

'Adventure is Worthwhile' by Emma Zappone

Hello there.
Em with you today, and today's share is an Art Journal page which was created with all Tim Holtz products. It was fun to create with layered stamps and rub on transfers.
And the great thing is you can see it all in my YouTube video.

I used some older stamps I have in my stash that are a ticket style to style my background and then a cling stamp which features a flower to add another layer.

I then used a few Remnant Rubs amongst the stamped layers. This was cool as it added another shade of black into the background mix.

The image is from a set of Idea-ology Snapshot cards that I fussy cut and then layered with ephemera from Idea-ology pack 102.  This pack is full of tickets and envelopes and more. 

For the colour in the background, I chose to use Distress Crayons on an acetate sheet to add just subtle colour. the colours also were chosen to compliment the ephemera pieces.

The quotes are from  a small talk pad and are such easy ways to add quotes and phrases to any page.

Finally once everything was stuck down, I added a splash of Black Liquitex ink.

A simple yet effective page. Check out the video to see each layer come together.

'Use Your Wings' By Emma Zappone

 Hi everyone.
Emma with you today, sharing a couple of Tags using the new ATELIER Foundations pack.
It features beautiful soft greens and is highly versatile.
I also have a video of these coming together, so grab a cuppa and enjoy the process.

This pack went beautifully with other products, like some of the 49&Market Rubons.

The tags feature a few resin pieces from the new mould sets by Finnabair. 
And these are painted with Dina Wakley and Art By Marlene Acrylic paints.
Finished off with a couple of different waxes too.

I loved adding the birds which are a rubon from Finnabair transfer sheets. I rubbed them onto a little bit of the transperancy sheet in the pack which made it super easy to fussy cut around.

I managed to use quite a variety of the sheets in the pack including the beautiful rice paper onto some white cardstock to add more dimension on the tags.

Entomology Tag by Emma Zappone

Hello everyone.
Today I share a video and a tag created using a mix of products you can find in Kylie's shop.
It focus's on Stamperia product, resin and texture.

This tag is approx 5"x7" and created on packing board. Nice & Sturdy.
It is then primed with some white gesso to get it ready for all the paint to come.
I then chose a couple of earthy colours for my background from Art By Marlene in Tuscan & Tobacco.
And then a little watercolour concentrate from Prima.

You can see how I added the colours in the video. Then I added some texture with some modeling paste. I grabbed a sheet of the Stamperia collectables paper and tore what I needed and then blended it into the tag background with more paint and some rubons. 

Once the background was complete, I chose what I needed to decorate the front. I knew I wanted to use butterflies especially since I had this beautiful resin butterfly from Kylie. So I made this my centre focus. I painted it in a couple of Stamperia colour gels, Gold Dew & Star Blue.

I fussy cut some of the butterflies from the same collectables paper pad and then to make it look like one of those butterfly display boxes you see at the museum, stamped with Tim Holtz Field Notes to add the Fig.1 ect next to each butterfly.

I flicked with remaining ink and a few matching Prima watercolour concentrates.

Stay Wild - TN Thursday with Emma.

Happy Thursday everyone.
Today I share a quick TN with you all. This weeks theme is Flowers.

Who said art had to take a long time? This page only took me 20mins. It probably would have been shorter if I hadn't had to dry everything...😜😜😜

The background pages were primed with white Gesso and then I smooshed Art Philosophy watercolour concentrates over the pages to add that wild bold colour. 

Once these were dried I then embossed inked and an Aall & Create stamp from the Lotus clusters set and using white emboss powder set it on top of the colour. This added a little drama and softness over all that colour. For my focal point I chose some cool images out of an Art by Marlene elements pad. Along with some flowers that complimented this weeks theme.

The quote is from Art by Marlene sticky quotes and then this page was finished with a good splashing of white acrylic paint.

Hold On Gorgeous - with Emma Zappone

Hi there.

The start of any project is an Art of it's own.
Some days we want to craft but the Art just doesn't come easy or we have a plan in our head and it doesn't translate onto paper. This has been me this week. But I persisted. How?

I decided to concentrate on creating something small, so as not to be overwhelmed. I grabbed out my 5x7 Art by Marlene journal and popped out a page ready.
This is my result...

It's far from perfect. But I guess that's the great thing about Art Journaling, everything you create in a journal IS ART. I knew that I wanted to continue playing with the brown tones featured in this months mood/sketch but I also thought I could incorporate the sketch along with it.
I grabbed an assortment of acrylic paints from Dina Wakley and Dylusions, (the colours don't exactly match the mood palette but it's close).

I started to block the colours together like the layers in the sketch. Again this concept seemed better in my head. But again I persisted.
I grabbed a few stamps, some for background work and some as the focal point. The focal point stamps are from the stunning Aall & Create Take Flight set and the background mainly consists of Tim Holtz Glitch1 set. Very textured.

Art Journal pages allow me to experiment and keep building layers with paint and stamping. As I stamped the background stamps I didn't want to cover the acrylic but just 'touch' it so as to have a flow on effect rather than a lets just stamp this here effect. To add to that continuity I doodled some small shapes in black & white to soften the feel.

For the main focal point, I stamped and fussy cut 'her' and the 'wings' out and played with the idea of colouring 'her' in. I decided to only colour 'her' wings as a contrast between 'her' and the background.
I coloured in with a Distress Marker. And then just added small highlights around 'her'. 

To finish it all off I flicked gold and white acrylic and added a quote that really spoke to me through out the making of this page and in most of my creativity.

I hope this simple journal page inspires you to just create, even if for a few minutes, and try what might be floating around in your mind. The final result may just surprise you :)

Bloom - Travellers Notebook by Emma Zappone

Hi, Em with you today.
And today for my share I have a Travellers Notebook page that also showcases the moodboard for Feb.
So some of you may know that I quite like Brown and when I saw this months colour theme I might have squealed with delight.

As a reminder lets peek at the amazing mood/sketch.....

I will play with the sketch side of the board later in the month.
I used some awesome products for these pages. I started with some Rubons. Once they were applied I coated my pages with a clear Gesso to prime them ready for all the colour and medium.

Next I used some modelling paste through Finnabair's stencil - Mind games along some of the corners and edges of the pages. This created a nice bit of texture with out overwhelming the pages.

Then came the colour. I used a variety of different products for all the neutral shades. I started with Distress Oxides in Gathered Twigs, Vintage photo & Frayed Burlap and then a Dylusions Ink Spray in ground coffee. I moved it around with a little water and a damp brush.

Next came the tree. This was painted with a Mix of different acrylic paints which included Art by Marlene - Tobacco, Dina Wakley - Buff, Dina Wakley Heavy Body acrylic - Ancient and a little cheap acrylic from my stash. For the trunk, this was painted with black Gesso. You can see how it all came about in my Video.

This weeks TN theme is hearts, now I'm not one to play with hearts much, so I drew these little hearts dangling from the tree to honour the theme. Finally I added a word and a quote from Art by Marlene quote book and this weeks TN pages were complete.

New Beginnings - with Emma Zappone

 Welcome to 2022!!
ScrappingClearly has got some awesome things planned for everyone this year.
And today I'm sharing with you an A4 layout and a Video that has been created using inspiration from the absolutely awesome NEW mood/sketch for January. The colours scream summer and fun!
Here is what I was inspired to create......

Super cool right???
I decided to focus on the mood part of this board, and save the sketch for later in the month.

I used lots of products in my stash but also available in the SC shop. Firstly the stencil I used is a Finnabair stencil Oriental wall used with snowflake paste. Soft and glittery which was a great base to start with. Then I smooshed colour. I chose to use 2 colours for the background work. First is an Izink pigment in celestial and then a Distress crayon in Peacock Feathers.
These worked so well in with the paste.

Ok, so I LOVE moulds and this page incorporates plenty. I used a variety of different ones, but love the big palm leaf and of course the machine parts one. These are painted with Dylusion paints in a mix of Squeezed orange & Polished Jade. The metal Finnabair mechanical flowers were primed with white gesso first and then painted with the coloured acrylic also. 

I added a little stamping onto the background to add more layers using the Tim Holtz Glitch1 set. It's grungy but goes with just about everything. I love the texture it brings.

The chipboard frame is one I have in my stash and I primed it with white gesso first and then with complimentary Distress crayons 'coloured' it in. Then sprayed with water and painted out the crayon, which created this cool blended watercolour effect. Then it was clear embossed.

In the video you will see me use a flower stamp by Art by Marlene and then coloured with more Distress crayons and then cut out to help build my layers. I absolutely love the dimension of this layout.
The papers that mat my image are what I have in my stash, and I love adding book paper for that slight reference to vintage style that I love.

Dream A Little by Emma Zappone

Hello fellow creatives.
Emma with you all today with a quick little Art Journal.
I had a heap of Art by Marlene products that I have been itching to use, so I finally sat down and created.

As I was using some Art by Marlene I chose to create in my 5.0 ABM ring album.
I love this album as I can remove the smaller sized pages and create, which adds a sense of freedom.
Then I chose a few elements from the Out of this world Paper elements pad.
 

These paper elements are so super cute. I wanted to keep the background simple yet effective so I started by tearing strips of ABM washi tapes and placing them in a large L shape on the page.
Then I chose to play with Distress Oxides to compliment the colours in the washi and paper elements.

I chose the new Villainous Potion colour, Cracked pistachio and Faded Jeans.
Can't go wrong with oxides. Instant colour with awesome results. Then I chose a couple of Aall & Create stamps to compliment the space theme that I had chosen.

I scribbled a few pen lines & circles and then applied my elements.
Including a little ABM sticker and quote.

I totally recommend playing with the whimsy Art by Marlene products, they really allow a youthful creativity.
