Art Journal Pages by Belinda Spencer

 Hello Scrapping Clearly fans!

Today I have a couple of art journal spreads to share with you featuring lots of Dina Wakley Media products.

I have used the awesome Dina Wakley Media 6x6" Kraft Journal. I love the compact size of this journal and the super heavy weight pages.

I added some collage paper from the Collage Collective book using the DWM Ultra Thick Gel Medium. Once dry I added some stencilling using the brand new Growing Masks and Night Acrylic Paint. I spritzed some DWM Gloss Spray in White and Turquoise over the masks too.

I added a cute little tag cut from the Collage Collective book that I altered with collage and stamping. I added some extra colour to the face using the Jane Davenport Chalk Pastel Set.

I stamped a couple of leaves from the Be Willing Stamp Set using Medieval Gloss Spray on collage paper and added them to the pages.

I added some mark making using a Light Blue Pilot Pintor Paint Pen as well as Posca Paint Pens.

I added the sentiments and a bit more stamping to finish.

My next two pages were created using the same techniques and inspired by the October Mood Board.

Thanks for stopping by the blog today. I hope you find some time to play with your Dina Wakley stash too.

Cheers
Belinda

Current Mood with Belinda Spencer

 Hello Scrapping Clearly fans!

It's Belinda here with you today to share my latest art journal spread inspired by the September Mood Board. I love working in black and white so I couldn't resist making a second project!

'Current Mood' Art Journal Pages

I started by adding this fabulous Scrap FX Rice Paper using Ranger Multi Medium Matte. I scraped a little heavy white gesso over parts of it using a palette knife once it was dry.

I swiped some black and white gesso over the surface again using the palette knife. Once that was dry I added another layer of collage. I was lucky enough to grab myself the stunning Botanical Collage Paper by Tim Holtz when it was in stock and I am using it very sparingly because I love it so much. These pages just needed some of it though. I tore some pieces of it and added with the same Multi Medium Matte.

Next I went crazy with stencilling, stamping and a bit of doodling with a white Posca Pen.

I stamped my fairy using the Aall & Create Take Flight Clear Stamp Set. I stamped the girl on smooth white cardstock and the wings on tracing paper/vellum. I used the Vicki Boutin Colour Study Stamp Set to add 'tattoos' to my girl and doodled around them with a black journalling pen. I drew some antennae, fussy cut everything and stuck all the pieces together.

I cut some of the quotes from a sheet of patterned paper from the Heidi Swapp Art Walk 12 x 12 Paper Pad and also used a sticker from the Jenine's Mindful Art Collection Sticker Book.

Mini Art Journalling - With Karyn Schultz!

 Hi Scrapping Clearly Lovelies!

It's Karyn here and today I have 3 art journal pages that I created using lots of fun products available at Scrapping Clearly!

I have created all of the pages in my Dina Wakley Media White Journal

For this first page I start by painting DWM acrylic paint across the page (sand, carnation and peacock). Then I sprayed DWM gloss spray in eggplant through the DWM circle halves stencil. Next I added sprays and splatters of DWM gloss spray (carnation and marine).  I added some collage elements from project offcuts and book paper as well as a fussy cut stamped image. Some Tim Holtz Idea-ol-ogy Small Talk Word Stickers completed the page.

The next page used similar colours and elements - also used the DWM medieval crosses stencil and DWM Abstract Figures stamps.

This last page again used similar products, colours and elements. I also used the DWM Wallpaper stencil with lime DWM gloss spray

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Rebel Heart with Belinda Spencer

 Hello Scrapping Clearly peeps!!

It's Belinda here today to share my latest project inspired by the gorgeous October Mood Board Challenge. Today I am sharing an art journal spread using lots of fabulous products available in the Scrapping Clearly shop.

'REBEL HEART' ART JOURNAL SPREAD

Here's another peek at the mood board.

I began my art journal spread by tearing some pieces of scrapbook papers and Dina Wakley Collage Collective papers in the colours of the mood board. as well as some book paper I then added them to the 6x6 White Dina Wakley Media Journal using Liquitex Matte Gel.

Next I used a palette knife to scrape some heavy white gesso over the pages.

Once the pages were completely dry, I diluted some Dylusions Paints in Blue Hawaiian, Blue Lagoon and Vibrant Turquoise with water. I spritzed the pages with water and then used a large soft paintbrush to drop the colour onto the pages. I moved the journal around a little to let the paint go where it wanted to.

I let the pages dry completely once again and then added the face and the quote using some Dina Wakley Collage paper and the Matte Gel.

When this stage once dry, I used the Dina Wakley Mini Boulders 6x6 Template with two blue Scribble Sticks to add some scribbly circles over the pages. I used the large soft paintbrush again to blend the crayon scribbles. I carefully dried the pages with a heat gun (not too close or the collage pieces will bubble) and then used a fine black Posca Pen to draw my own lines around the circles just like the quote says.

Next I tore off a strip of Dina Wakley Media Tape and lightly stuck it onto a piece of plastic (so that it can be removed after). I stamped the title using the Heidi Swapp Old School Clear Stamps. Iused Mermaid Lagoon Archival Distress Ink for the solid colour letter stamp and Jet Black Archival Ink for the outline letter stamp. Once the ink was dry (well it was almost dry and I paid the price of being too impatient when I smudged the first letter. D'oh!) I removed the tape from the plastic and added it to my pages.

And just because I am loving this stamp set so much right now, I had to add some mandalas around the edges using the Art By Marlene Mandala Tapestry Clear Stamps with the Jet Black Archival Ink. I coloured parts of the mandalas using Prima Art Philosophy Peacock Liquid Watercolour and also added some highlights using a white Posca Pen. I used the Pilot Pintor Pen in a lovely shade of blue to add some more lines in the large 'boulders'. I added a few more 'mini boulders' using the stencil and the white Posca Pen and drew some messy outlines around them with the black Posca.

To finish, I used a wet water brush pen to add some Pthalo Blue Shade Pan Pastel around the edge. This is such a gorgeous deep shade of blue. I love it! I also used a Darkroom Door stamp set to add a few stamped words.

Here's what I used:
DINA WAKLEY Collage Papers:
- Faces
DINA WAKLEY Media Collage Collective
ART BY MARLENE Mandala Tapestry Clear Stamps
DARKROOM DOOR Artist Rubber Stamp Set
RANGER Distress Archival Ink Mermaid Lagoon
DYLUSIONS Paints:
- Blue Hawaiian
- Blue Lagoon
- Vibrant Turquoise

I hope you are feeling inspired to have a play with the mood board now too! Thanks so much for stopping by the blog.

Cheers

Friday art Journal with Michelle.

Hi everyone I am back with my Dina Wakley's 6x6 Journal I am using this little one as a gratitude journal...
I got really messy with Gloss Sprays to create the background on this one:

I used gloss sprays randomly sprayed and splashed around in Lime, Ocean and Marine to get a messy background, then used my mini round gel plate as a stamp with Dina Wakley acrylic paint  in Magenta.

I had some stamped tissue lying around with script on it from the Dina Wakley stamp set Script Elements so attached them to the page with Gel Medium killing 2 birds with one swipe.....clearing trash off my desk and making a background so much more interesting!

I then stamped the face from my fave Dina Stamp set: "Thoughtful Women" and attached it to the page with the same gel medium.

I then set about adding some depth to the stamp using more Marine Gloss spray and scribbles in  black and gold paint pens. It tuned out quite dark so I added a few splashes with the white Gloss Sprays and some highlights with a white gel pen.
I dug through my stash to find the old alpha stickers for the quote and my page was done!
Products used:
Gloss Sprays: Marine Lime, Ocean, & white.
Dina Wakley stamp set Script Elements
Dina Stamp set: "Thoughtful Women"

So that is it from me for now till next week....stay safe y'all!
