Shine

Hi everyone.
I'm super excited to have been invited to join this very talented DT.   So here is my 1st LO inspired by this month's gorgeous mood board.

I started with some old My Minds Eye patterned paper.   I masked off a portion of a Dina Wakley Jungle stencil with some washi tape and scrapped some modelling paste through with a palette knife.   I then cleaned the stencil, flipped it over and repeated the process.   This is a great way of making more use of your stencils.

I did some random stamping using a 49 & Market stamp with some Fossilized Amber Distress ink and some navy water based ink.   I sprinkled on some Colour Blast shimmer dust in navy and gave it a light spritz with water.

I grabbed a few wood veneer leaves from my stash and rubbed them (using my finger) with Indian gold Nuvo embellishment mousse.   I then added a touch of Viva Inka Gold in Haematite on the leaves and on the modelling paste so it would stand out.

I sprayed some cheese cloth with some Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist and then stuck it all down with a little bit of gold thread thrown in for good measure.

I finished by adding my title, a gorgeous Heidi Swapp acetate word and a scattering of Finnabair Art Ingredients Mica Flakes stuck on using gel medium.

Thanks for stopping by.
Enjoy your week and hope you have some time to get crafty.

'These little moments I love...' by Amy

Hi All!

I have here a simple page using goodies from the gorgeous Pink Fresh Studio 'Escape the Ordinary' range.

This range is perfect to compliment my photo of young Samuel up in Victoria's High Country.

Here is a list of the items used from the store in this layout:

Finally, using the Pink Fresh Studio - Escape the Ordinary, I have die-cut some shapes to embellish this simple page.

Here are some close-ups!

Thank you for stopping by; and have a great weekend!

Ciao, Amy

Farewell from Chloe

Hello there Scrappingclearly fans.

This post is rather sad, it's my very last post as I am finishing up my DT position at the end of this month.
It's been a wonderful 2+ years and I thank Kylie and the team so much for their faith in me.
I have enjoyed my time here, designing with some fabulous ranges, trying new things and making new friends.

For my very last post I've decided to share my favourite pages/creations from the last 2 {and a bit} years.

There might be a few, so make that cuppa and enjoy!

So there you have it - a quick journey through my 2 {and a bit} years here at Scrappingclearly.
What a journey it has been! I will miss it so much, but life takes us in different directions,
and it's time for me to take a step back now.
I know that the rest of the team will continue to inspire you and I will enjoy seeing their projects in the days to come.

For the last time, happy scrapping, and take care.

Much love,

Merry Christmas

Hello there Crafters!
I hope you are finding some time to craft in this busy month.
Remember our fabulous December Challenges!

Today I am sharing my last lot of Christmas cards using my SC stash ....

I used some more papers from the 6 x 6 Heidi Swapp Believe paper pad,
these are just perfect for cards - there are so many different looks you can get from the same paper pad!
Adding some gorgeous die cut ephemera makes things
super easy for coordinating embellishments.

Super easy cards - I love how effective just a simple strip of washi tape, a glitter cardstock die cut,
and a Heidi word (they come in such great varieties!) can be.

This last card was created using some journal cards from My Mind’s Eye – On Trend 2 Collection – Journal Cards.
Using journal cards is one of my favourite things to do on cards - it makes creating easy,
and there are so many different colours and styles to choose from!
This is my last Christmas card post - I hope you have enjoyed them as I loved making them!
See my other posts HERE and HERE.
Do you make Christmas cards?
Do you use non-Christmas ranges?
I'd love to see some!
Come over and share your creations in our Facebook Group.

Til next time,
Happy creating :)

Forever - a Scrap layout by Emma.

Morning ScrappingClearly friends.
Today I have created a page inspired by this months sketch challenge.
And this time I think I kept it very similar to the sketch 😜

I used a lot from the MME Ontrend 2 collection to create this page.
But I started my page with gesso and texture paste, and then added a few subtle colours
because the base paper I chose was rather bold.
These colours were made using Distress Oxide antique linen and Distress Oxide iced spruce .
I also used a little bit of Colour Shine in gold, because I chose a few gold elements.

I cut a few tags out of the On Trend 2 3x4 journal cards, that would compliment the layout.

I used a Heidi Swapp decorative tag, and to embellish it used a few things in my stash and
I also used some Ontrend 2 stickers in and around my layout.

I finished off with Liquitex artist ink in black and white, flicked around.
I love finishing all my creations with this technique because I feel it unites every aspect.

It’s always crazy at this time of year, but hopefully, you will get a chance to play with our challenges.

And don’t forget to enter in the amazing comp that Kylie has running right now, with a very cool prize up for grabs.

Until next time, happy scrapping.
Em xx

Stash busting Christmas cards!

Hello there Scrappers!
If you are anything like me, you have a rather large stash of older products,
collections that are mostly used but you still have bits and pieces left,
and you can't throw anything away - ever!
Because you never know when it will come in handy!

Well, I decided to make some Christmas cards with what I have on hand.
Preferably not Christmas ranges - there's nothing like challenge, right?!
First up, I saw my sheet of Pebbles – DIY Home Collection – Washi Tape Paper ...
this was perfect for a washi background!

THIS PAPER from the Pebbles DIY Home collection even featured a deer head that I cut out with a paper punch.

For my second card, I used some journal cards from My Mind’s Eye – On Trend 2 Collection – Journal Cards.
Using journal cards is one of my favourite things to do on cards - it makes creating easy!

I added some Heidi Shine on the background for some shimmer
and diecut the deer out of glitter cardstock.
Do you make Christmas cards?
Do you use non-Christmas ranges?
I'd love to see some!
Come over and share your creations in our Facebook Group.

Til next time,
Happy creating :)

WK13 2017 - with Melinda Sweetman

Hey ScrappingClearly fans, it's Melinda here with you today sharing my latest DT make!

Today's post is a relatively short and sweet Project Life share!
I've used the My Mind's Eye On Trend 2 collection and kept it fairly simple and calling it done!
(Product links at bottom of post)

Here is my title card for the week

Like I said, pretty simple but I'm really happy with how this spread came together. Everything is from the MME collection except the "WEEK 13" alphas which came from my stash.

Here is the left hand side

And the right hand side

And here are a couple of close up's of some of the cards.

I've used one of the 12x12 papers in my WRMK typewriter for all of the journalling and just trimmed it down into strips as a lot of my words would get lost on a quiet a few of those cards. Also, I wasn't convinced that I could write too successfully over the top of the gold foiling!

The blue foiled card was actually one of the 6x4 cards on the cut apart sheet and REALLY wanted to use it so I trimmed it down and it fit beautifully!

I had fun with all those brads - not something I use a lot of but they look really good!

I hope that I have inspired you to get some stories told and into an album, no matter what kind of supplies you have or "how" you scrapbook. I am struggling to keep up with my project life but happy that I am getting my stories told and in the album!

Until next time, happy scrapping!

Melinda

Love, love, love with Melinda

Oh my stars!! Can you believe it is already the 27th September?! Where has this last 9 months gone?! I am here today to share my take on the September sketch challenge and I have used the gorgeous My Minds Eye On Trend 2 collection available in store.

Here is a little sneaky at my take on the sketch

And here is the sketch if you have not yet seen it

And here is my page in full!

I really loved the ripped strips on the right hand side so without too much thought I RIPPED 3 strips off 3 papers before I could re-think my decision!! I have used the Elegant, Minted and Graphic 12x12 papers for my strips but my favourite and the HARDEST to rip into was that stunning navy and gold print (Elegant).

I decided to scrap these 5 smaller photos as my birthday story for my 32nd birthday as I knew I had a bigger-ish story to tell to fill the left hand side where all the journalling is on the sketch.

I have used a bunch of the stickers from the MME On Trend 2 sticker sheet including the diamond shaped stickers at the bottom as a banner on the top left hand side.

Those cacti stickers were simply too adorable to not use and with all that journalling and all the pattern on the right hand side I added a title using a combination of the MME sticker sheet and the "Sentiment" thickers.

There is stitching on the sketch all the way around the page and I am still undecided if I want to add any stitching. I am thinking that if I do go back and add it will be on the strips on the right hand side in gold but for now, my page is done, my story is told and I am happy with the end result.

You do still have a few days left of the month to get your entries in for an awesome gift voucher to spend in the store so head over to the FB group here and load your entries up into the correct albums!

Until next time, happy scrapping!

Melinda
