Merry Christmas

Hello there Crafters!

I hope you are finding some time to craft in this busy month.
Remember our fabulous December Challenges!

Today I am sharing my last lot of Christmas cards using my SC stash ....

I used some more papers from the 6 x 6 Heidi Swapp Believe paper pad,

these are just perfect for cards - there are so many different looks you can get from the same paper pad!

Adding some gorgeous die cut ephemera makes things

super easy for coordinating embellishments.

Super easy cards - I love how effective just a simple strip of washi tape, a glitter cardstock die cut,
and a Heidi word (they come in such great varieties!) can be.

This last card was created using some journal cards from My Mind’s Eye – On Trend 2 Collection – Journal Cards.
Using journal cards is one of my favourite things to do on cards - it makes creating easy,
and there are so many different colours and styles to choose from!

You Rock, My take on the April sketch, by Tania

Hi lovely Scrappingclearly community! I'm back again with you to share my take on this month's sketch! I found this one inspired me instantly and my layout came together rather quickly!!!

Here's this month's sketch if you haven't seen it!

This month, I'm working with the 'Atlas' Collection by Pink Paislee!! I'm happy with these papers, as I can get some more boy's pages done, which I seem to be on a roll with lately!! I used to struggle, but some how have found the mojo for Scrapping the Men in my life!!! I'm also working with some great Mixed Media products from American Crafts by 'Vicki Boutin'.

I started by tearing the postcard paper and attatching it to the Here & There paper. Then I trimmed them down and added them to a black, cardstock background. Then I got out the Black Acrylic Paint from Vicki's range, and smeared some strokes on my page with an old credit card. Honestly, the consistency of this paint is awesome. It kind of went on like an ink, so smooth! I really like the effect it had. When that was dry I adhered some of the chunky glitter, from the Platinum Accents, over the black paint. I felt it needed a bit more, so then added some texture paste through a stencil.

Before I layered some papers behind my photo, I added some stamping on the background, just a subtle few lines. Then I added some stickers from the Teresa Collins, Something Wonderful range.

Other embellishments used were some cute little Wood veneers, from Studio Calico, a chipboard heart and chipboard title, and some Enamel Accents from Ranger, (love these!)

When in Doubt, Colour In!

Howdy Folks

Peg here again to share a little of my creative outlet from difficult times.

2016 is shaping up to be one of those years you can't wait to be over. There have been too many heart-wrenching and difficult issues to deal with and I must admit it is taking it's toll on my mojo.

So, when all else fails, I thought, colour in! The hard part had already been done for me, all I had to do was find some quiet time and crack out the markers.

I had these ones on hand.

12 (much brighter than they look) 'pastel' and 12 'glitter'. I have boosted the colour in this image so they look a little closer to what they are.

On first inspection I was unimpressed but thankfully the colours are much nicer than they look on the outside. They are vibrant, flouro even, and so gorgeous when used together!

This is my first attempt. I started at one end of the pastel set and did the stripes with each marker, starting at the beginning again when I reached the end. Too easy, but doesn't it look fab?! Awesome colours!

Then I used the glitter set, these are so pretty too!

I tried to get a close up to show off the glitter.

They are a lovely creamy marker that occasionally need a scribble to get them started. I will definitely be using them again, maybe even for colouring in if this year of trauma continues. This activity lifted my mood for sure!

Not About Loss

Hi Y'all

This month I have been playing with the Simple Stories 'Heart' range. It has a theme geared towards scrapping those pictures of loved ones who are with us no longer. My last post contained two projects about this, but today I want to share with you a project that is not about loss just to show you how adaptable this range is.

I started with the pretty green ombre paper and applied some Colour Blast 'Stormy Weather' paste through a Crafters Workshop Circle Grid stencil, see the shimmer in that paste? Love it!

I layered up lots of leftover bits of pretty papers from the pack, notched out the tab in this one so it would sit over my pics. Added some triangle glitter stickers to point to my main photo.

And here is my finished page.

I'm thinking I might need to get a new black dye inkpad, this one is getting a bit too messy. Did I just say that??

Scrapping Loss

Hi Scrapping Clearly friends and fans, hope all's well with you today.

I'm here today to share two projects I did using the Simple Stories 'Heart' Simple Set. This range had me digging out old photos that hadn't been scrapped due to emotional feelings of loss. Absolutely great for that push to get some really important memory pages done.

My first was a pocket page. I had so many photos and didn't really want to leave any out, since they are all slightly different and Gran is no longer with us. This format is perfect to fit in heaps without making the page look overwhelming.

I used a BellaRouge transparent alpha for my title, everything else came out of the Simple Stories kit.

My next project was a standard 12 x 12 layout.

I did a mixed media background using Colour Blast 'Bling' paste through The Crafters Workshop mini Art Is stencil, then misted Heidi Swapp Color Shine in Navy lightly over the middle. Not fussed with this look, I took a wet wipe and spread out the Color Shine which softened it considerably and also created a nice white outline around my script paste. I then added some splats with the colour shine, this stuff has divine shimmer! So does the Colour Blast paste!

I coloured up some muslin with Tattered Angels 'Walnut Gold' Glimmer Mist and used it as a mat for my photo. I used a small Heidi Swapp Ghost frame to highlight a smaller picture, I love these because they are quite subtle due to their transparency.

I cut the glittery ends off Heidi Swapp Decorative Glitter Tags and tucked them under each side of my pic and used a patterned paper off cut from Simple Stories pack at the bottom. PaperMate correction tape (WideLine) gave me journalling lines which I outlined to make stand out better.

I am so glad I had this Simple Stories pack to work with. I never would have chosen it myself but it gave me the opportunity to scrap some really important pages for my album. You know, I never even knew anyone had a range like this!

Captured

Good Morning, Rikki here this morning with some floral inspiration today, and who doesn't like flowers, right?

When starting a mass flower layout its important to have a striking piece of pattern paper that adds to the overall design and is able to help support the 100's of flowers (well not quite 100 but a few lol). As soon as I saw this dark wood pattern paper for Chickaniddy I knew this was the piece to do something special.......
