Fridge magnets

Hi everyone

With less than a month before I have to move house I've started to think about packing.   I looked in the kitchen and saw 3 of those promotional fridge magnets that you get in the mail.   I'd just been whacking them on the fridge 'cause I find them useful but certainly not attractive.   So I decided the get creative.   (Really just a way of procrastinating about the packing!)

              

I started by giving the magnets a couple of coats of gesso, collaging on some paper, random stamping (Jane Davenport Poppy Girl, Lavinia Stamps Dragon Pods & Seed Heads & others),  and then some Light & Fluffy through a few stencils (Colour Blast Time magic, Dina Wakley Media wheels & others) .  

                        

I made a few embellishments using a mould and some paper clay and covered some metallic bits from my stash with gesso,

 I used alcohol inks on two of the magnets(just squinted them on in places and let them do their thing) and pounced on some acrylic paint using a dry brush for the last one.

I then used my finger to rub on some metallic wax and some gel medium to stick on some mica flakes and beads.

Hi everyone,

Back again with another LO inspired by this month's mood board. 

 

I started with some old pink patterned paper.   I knew I was going to cover most of it up but I just wanted a subtle colour for the background.   I coated it with some Liquitex gesso  and when dry, mixed some modelling paste with some Dina Wakley paint in Elephant and used that through a flower stencil in my background.   I dry brushed on a bit more paint and rubbed it back with a babywipe, repeating the process until I was happy.   I added some Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist in granite and a little Prima Water colour pencils along with a Stabilo pencil adding water to move them around. 

I used some Cocoa Vanilla Life is Beautiful Alphabet Stickers for my title, some Enamel Accents and Liquid Pearls to form little dots and a scattering of Finnabair Art Ingredients Mica Flakes stuck on with gel medium.

I finished by matting my photo base using some old pattered paper and some embellishments from my stash.

Hi everyone.   

I'm super excited to have been invited to join this very talented DT.   So here is my 1st LO inspired by this month's gorgeous mood board.

I started with some old My Minds Eye patterned paper.   I masked off a portion of a Dina Wakley Jungle stencil with some washi tape and scrapped some modelling paste through with a palette knife.   I then cleaned the stencil, flipped it over and repeated the process.   This is a great way of making more use of your stencils.

I did some random stamping using a 49 & Market stamp with some Fossilized Amber Distress ink and some navy water based ink.   I sprinkled on some Colour Blast shimmer dust in navy and gave it a light spritz with water.

I grabbed a few wood veneer leaves from my stash and rubbed them (using my finger) with Indian gold Nuvo embellishment mousse.   I then added a touch of Viva Inka Gold in Haematite on the leaves and on the modelling paste so it would stand out.

I sprayed some cheese cloth with some Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist and then stuck it all down with a little bit of gold thread thrown in for good measure.

I finished by adding my title, a gorgeous Heidi Swapp acetate word and a scattering of Finnabair Art Ingredients Mica Flakes stuck on using gel medium.
