Project life spread- Fun Snaps

Hello there ScrappingClearly fans,

Amy here with you today with a project life spread with a twist- a fuse sleeve twist. I have used a mix of the Heidi Swapp Magnolia Jane collection and Shimelle starshine collection.

I first up cut up some of the starshine patterned papers to create my own project life cards. Once I embelllished these I moved onto my photos. I embellished my photos using some pieces from starshine and Magnolia Jane, as well as writing on them with my uniball white pen.

To finish up I added a fuse sleeve to the back of the page protector using my WRMK fuse tool. This is to keep a flower crown given out at this event safe for the future.

The Story of the Gumboots

Good Morning Arty Peeps!

Hope your weekend is full of fun with a little creativity thrown in, mine is shaping up just that way.

Today I'm sharing my sketch challenge layout, about hanging out with those who feed my soul with art and fun times.

Still using up my Colour Blast pastes, I made the background on heavy weight cardstock with a cool new Kinder Kreations mandala stencil, making sure to treat the paste with Dorland's Wax when dry, to stop the stickiness.

After the Dorland's I swiped some Ceramcoat black paint over my page top and bottom. When wiping it off the Colour Blast paste it was taking the paste with it, so I left it looking kinda grungy. I added a bit of zing to my background with some flicks of Lemon Zest Dylusions spray (the best yellow!).

For my layers I used this gorgeous stamp set with black ink on white card, adding some extra colour with Stazon ink and my Lemon Zest. The two word strips are from this pretty and versatile paper from Kaisercraft.

I journalled straight on the gesso with a white pen and added some white splats with Dylusions ink spray, I love how opaque this stuff is!

I used a title from this pack of foamThickers, and embellished with vellum hearts and buttons.

Creating Faces using Washi Tape

Howdy Bloggers , Lisa here with a Friday ,, mixed media update .

I've been road tripping down south , getting arty in the beautiful state of Victoria, 

with artisans from all over the country., in one incredible venue.

A big reason I love to road trip is the half way point for me is Gundagai . 

Home of the Dog on the Tucker Box,the Tout family and

 the Headquarters of the amazing Scrapping Clearly, 

an essential stop for artist of all genres.

 back to the theme of this post ....

ohhhhhhh , creating faces with ease using the super fun Jane Davenport Washi tape

I stared with a piece of glorious water colour paper for the background and created the layers using acrylic paint and a brayer on a Gel Press . Oh my lordie , these are super fun to use..

 put some paint on the press, brayer it over the surface and take a print using any surface, papers, card, material etc. I selected this background, as it was my least favorite from a recent gel press session(knowing that I was going to cover a fair bit of it).

 When the surface was dry I placed strips of Janes Facial washi tape on to the page,

 and roughly drew a head shape.

 I got out some face tones and painted in her face 

 Added a few more layers of acrylic paint 

 Her mouth was a little small , so using my prismacolour pencils 

 (I know Kylie has these, as I saw them on the wall),

I extended her mouth a little. Plus I also took a little time to balance her eyes.

 A few dramatic lines through her hair ,using pencils 

 Then out comes my new Kinder Kreations Mandala...swoooon,

 You will probably see it on everything over the next few weeks.. 

 It works perfectly with this new Bo Bunny Glitter paste....

  ohhh this stuff is awesome . 

Dries quick considering it has the kindy glitz look to it on application..

 but swoon at the dried results and the colour selection is fantastic.

 After drying , I added a few more details to the piece with a white sharpie paint pen 

and a black Fude ball pen. I'm happy with this fun result .

August sketch - by Chloe

Hello scrappers!  Who needs some sketch inspiration today? 

I simplified the sketch quite a bit, only used one photo, and added a cluster to suit my style.  Instead of the splattering, I used patterned paper as my background.

You'll see I kept the main elements the same, the strip up the top of the page and down the bottom ...

And I moved the title to the place of the 2nd photo ...

I hope you'll play along with our challenges this month!  It's a fun sketch to use!

Happy Hump Day Scrapping Clearly Peeps!

Im just popping in to share my take on this months sketch challenge. I'll admit I was a little stumped at first, I haven't really travel much and I don't have any photos that suited this theme. So I went way out of the box, and flipped the sketch onto its side and drew the main elements from it to make this  layout using my last bits of my Magnolia Jane collection. 

You can see I've flipped the sketch sideways, and I've got my two main 'clusters' going vertically down each side of the page. I started off with the Pink patterned as my base, and ran a strip of Blushed  and Secret Garden B side down each side. Edges are Inked with Black Stazon ans stitched on my sewing machine with black thread. 

Ive fussy cut some flowers from the Secret Garden paper, layered them up with some tracing paper that ive scrunched up, and mounted it all together using some Xpress It Double Sided Foam Tape

For my embellishments, Ive used the Gold acetate word pack, Gold Leaf tag, and some sentiment bits from the Storyline - Wedding pack.

Pool Side Fun - Layout by Tania

Hi lovely people!! Today I have my take on this month's Sketch!! (Which is here if you haven't already seen it!)

I loved the simplicity of this sketch, although, because of the size of my photos, I had to change the photo placement slightly, but that's ok. A sketch is designed to get our creative juices flowing! If you want to change it around slightly, you can!

 I am using up more left over bits from my DT kits! (Teresa Collins, Something Wonderful & Pink Paislee Atlas ranges.)

The papers are from the Atlas collection!

The embellishments, washi tape and tag are from the Something Wonderful Collection, and there are some cute little wood veneer arrows from Studio Calico. (I painted these black!)

The cute little star stamps are from Heidi Swapp, these are great for your dates, and the tiny stars, added just a little more to my white space and helped highlight my embellishment clusters.

I cut one of the tags from the Teresa Collins, Something Wonderful ephemera and tag pack, into two pieces and used in different spots under my photos. Then I embellished with stickers, chipboard stickers, stamps and patterned paper. The small alpha stickers are also Teresa Collins.
