Adventure favours the Brave

Howdy Folks , Lisa here with a Friday Mixed Media update ,
sharing a little art journal page
Yep, there is my wing fascination again,
(if i got them, ill use them)
So I started with some Heidi Swapp pattern paper and
adhered it to the page of my Dina Wakley Mixed Media art journal  with Liquitex Matt Medium
then added a little blue Dina Wakley paint using my beloved Liquitex spatula.
Drying time
Out come the jumbo white and black sharpies...omg I seriously love them ,
for mark making and filling in space with journaling ,
they are bold and fun to use.
You may have to pm Kylie direct if you want these babies ,
they don't appear on the SC Shop Webpage.
A few strip sentences and words from the Flutterby Designs stickers sheets
A couple of Darkroom Door film photos for added interest, and then out comes the big beautiful wings made with this stencil here and black lava textured paste from Prima .
A butterfly stamp from the finnabair/Prima stamp range and
then I added my beautiful girl to this page,a photo taken a few years ago
I love this childs free spirit and loving nature,
her passion and need to travel and explore the world.
this page is my way of preparing myself for the inevitable change in our lives,
when our children grow and go off to explore the world and themselves .

Thanks for dropping by .
Ill be back next week.

The Best Things with Melinda Sweetman

Hi scrappy friends, Melinda here with you today sharing my take on the fun April sketch challenge, once again designed by the very talented Peg!

Here it is if you haven't seen it yet

And here is my take on it

And you can watch my process on the link below - just press the play button!

I have used the Kaiser Craft Ooh La La collection pack for this and mostly just the Oui Oiu floral paper (I fussy cut the florals from it) and the Belle paper.

I have a little of the packaging technique in the background with the Avocado Art Anthology spray and applied a few splatters in Navy Colour Shimmer Dust.

The finishing touches were a few of my left over triangles from my last project - as photo corners and also as corners on the top left and bottom right of the page.

So, make sure you get your entries in for this months challenges, you still have most of the month to get them done! Head over here to the FB group to upload your entries. We love to see the way you guys interpret the challenges!!

Thanks, as always for stopping by and until next time, happy scrapping!

You Rock, My take on the April sketch, by Tania

Hi lovely Scrappingclearly community! I'm back again with you to share my take on this month's sketch! I found this one inspired me instantly and my layout came together rather quickly!!!
Here's this month's sketch if you haven't seen it!

This month, I'm working with the 'Atlas' Collection by Pink Paislee!! I'm happy with these papers, as I can get some more boy's pages done, which I seem to be on a roll with lately!! I used to struggle, but some how have found the mojo for Scrapping the Men in my life!!! I'm also working with some great Mixed Media products from American Crafts by 'Vicki Boutin'

I started by tearing the postcard paper and attatching it to the Here & There paper. Then I trimmed them down and added them to a black, cardstock background. Then I got out the Black Acrylic Paint from Vicki's range, and smeared some strokes on my page with an old credit card. Honestly, the consistency of this paint is awesome. It kind of went on like an ink, so smooth! I really like the effect it had. When that was dry I adhered some of the chunky glitter, from the Platinum Accents, over the black paint. I felt it needed a bit more, so then added some texture paste through a  stencil.

Before I layered some papers behind my photo, I added some stamping on the background, just a subtle few lines. Then I added some stickers from the Teresa Collins, Something Wonderful range.

Other embellishments used were some cute little Wood veneers, from Studio Calico, a chipboard heart and chipboard title, and some Enamel Accents from Ranger, (love these!)

Hope you've gained some inspiration from my layout! I have linked the products used from the store, make sure you take a look! See you next time!

Cards - With Karyn Schultz!

Hi Scrapping Clearly Lovelies!!!

It's Karyn here and today I have 2 cards to share with you made using the Teresa Collins "Something Wonderful" collection (paper pad, ephemera tags, sticker elements, decorative brads) available in the  Scrapping Clearly Store.
Each card measures 14cmx14cm and the base is made from a sheet of 12x12 white cardstock. I love the larger square size of these cards - makes them more special! I've then trimmed down pieces of paper from the paper pad and added to the front of each card. I love the smaller size of the patterns that are in the pad compared to the 12x12 papers - makes them perfect for smaller sized projects like cards.

Lastly I've added strips of papers, stickers, brads and wood veneer to finish the card.
I've chosen a different colour palette for each card, I love how this is possible with the variety of papers in the paper pad!
Scrapping Clearly products I've used include
Cardstock
Teresa Collins "Something Wonderful" collection   (paper pad, ephemera tags, sticker elements, decorative brads)
Studio Calico wood veneer hearts and arrows

Thanks so much for stopping by

Good Luck!

Home Sweet Home with Melinda

Hey there ScrappingClearly fans, Melinda here with you today sharing a page I made using this month's mood board as inspiration.

In case you haven't yet seen it, here it is

And here is my take on it

I have used the Kaiser Craft Oh La La collection for this and was really inspired by a chat I had had with my Mother In Law about quilting and came up with the idea of the triangles into the chevron design!

I modernised the whole patchwork effect with a little mixed media - namely I grabbed the Cantaloupe Liquid Pearls Kylie sent me in my last kit, added that to a little packaging and then spritzed with water - viola! Watercolour in a beautiful orange-y/gold tone to go perfectly with the mood board! I also added in a few very subtle sprinkles of colour with the Art Anthology Colour Spray in Avocado.

Today being the 1st of the month gives you plenty of time to get your own entries in for both this challenge and the sketch challenge for April - though who can seriously believe it is April already?!

Head over here to the FB group for the challenge albums and to see what everyone else is busy working on!

I do have a process video for this page - if it doesn't load straight away, please come back and try again - I kinda got my dates mixed up for this project - oopsies!!

Anyways, I'll leave you with a couple of close ups and a product list, if you have any questions, please dont hesitate to ask!

Supply List:

Kaiser Craft Ooh La La Collection Pack - there are none left in stock BUT there is the 6 1/2 x 6 1/2" paper pad which would work perfectly as well
Kaiser Craft Ooh La La Bits and Pieces Pack
Cantaloupe Liquid Pearls
Art Anthology Colourations Colour Spray - Avocado

Thanks, as always for stopping by and happy scrapping! I hope April is a super productive scrappy month for you all!
