Water fight delight

Hi everyone

I just love it when family gets together AND all the kids are colour coordinated!   

It's as if they knew I was a scrapper.

This photo was taken years ago before we had water restrictions and perfect for this month's mood board.   It includes my brother's granddaughter, my niece and son (with a glimpse of my nephew in the background).   

I started with some white card stock and sponged some Heidi Swapp Magic Medium through Dina Wakley's Wheels stencil to act as a resist. I then sprayed on a couple of Lindy's Stamp Gang mists and wiped them over the page with a wet wipe.   When dry I added some Snow White Colour Blast paste through the Dark Room Door Polka dots stencil.  

I used a combination of Pink Paislee and WE R Memory Keepers Best Friend and Young Love patterned paper to mat my photo.

I fussy cut a Hambly Screen Print and used it as a layer under my Joy Parade Puffy Sticker title .

I then finished off with some Pink Paislee Citrus Bliss stickers, some Michelle Grant Pebble Rocks, some beads and other bits from my stash.

Bright and colourful handmade cards

Hi Everyone!

I am here with a share today with some bright, colourful and fun handmade cards. It warms the heart and brightens anyone's day when they receive a handmade card.

I have created these four cards with the fun Fancy Pants Designs - Joy Parade Collection - 12 x 12 Collection Kits from the store. This is one awesome kit that consists of patterned papers, a foam glitter alpha sticker sheet and one puffy stickers sheet set. I also used American Crafts Thickers. 

For each of these cards, I used various goodies form the kit and I also hand-punched, diecut some shapes, using the bright patterned papers from the kit. The paper doily and the stamped sentiment are from my stash. 

After putting together these simple and easy cards, I had a lot left over from this kit collection, which will allow me ample to make more cards or another form of paper craft project that might take my fancy in the future.

It was making these cards and the bonus is that I now have a few more cards ready for that special occasion - kits are available in store here!

Birthday Page with DT Katie

Good morning, good morning! Happy Saturday, and happy end of June! Half way through the year already and another year is flying past so quickly. We are about to head into the down hill run for our second daughter finishing high school which is crazy, but exciting at the same time. Do you have any big events happening this year? My page that I am sharing today could be considered a big event, it celebrates the first birthday of my nephew, first birthday's are always a big deal, mainly for the parents to celebrate surviving their child's first year!

I used the gorgeous Fancy Pants Designs Joy Parade collection for this page, there are so many bright fun papers in this collection, and I thought I would show you a way to use some of the busier patterned papers. But first, lets look at my page!

There were so many great patterns that I loved in the collection, and I decided the best way to use a bit of everything (well not quite everything, but close!), was to cut strips of papers and create a background, then I used some more in layering behind my photo. Using a black and white photo made it easy to use lots of different patterns too. I simply cut different width strips and layered them on my background, separating the busier ones with solid colours between, this way there is no competition between patterns. The papers that I used are: Sprinkle Some Joy, Add a Little Sparkle, Life is a Party, Lighter than Air, Love Pretty Garlands and Wrap it in Colour. Always remember that sometimes the best pattern/colour for you to use may be on the "B" side of the double sided papers! And if you get the collection kit you get two sheets of all of the papers so you can use both sides, as well as puffy stickers! Once I had sorted the background I used some of the papers with more solid backgrounds to mat my photo, then I was ready to embellish!

The fun thing about using strips on your background is that you have places to tuck in little embellishments like tabs, tags and frames. I did this in a couple of places using some of the extras that come in the collection, including the ephemera, the tags and labels pack and the puffy stickers shapes and dots. I love these puffy stickers as there are so many great shapes to use, I chose to add lots of the triangles, they are great for creating "pointing" devices!

I used one of the word die cuts for my title and layered with some more shapes and dots puffy stickers and also a flair button. 

A few clustered labels and tags created a great place to journal and to finish off I added some black splatters, there is a bit of black on my page and it helps tie it all together, I used the Dylusions Black Marble, one of my go to black sprays!

sharing my take on the April combined challenge.

You can add your own take on this challenge in our Facebook group.

There are so many prompts you could choose from, I see Autumn tones, camping/holiday themes,
rainbows, foliage and more.  

But it was that rainbow hot air balloon from the mood board that really drew me in.

I chose this background paper by Ella and Viv from their Graffiti collection.

It's such an awesome piece of paper that just makes me happy looking at it.  

There are others designed in a similar style in the Graffiti collection including some

really grungy ones perfect for male pages. 

I've got three photos on my page but I've followed the sketch fairly closely. 

Although this paper is all kinds of fabulous just by itself I wanted to add some of my own marks and decided to do this with a Dina Wakley Stencil and Liquitex Gesso. I thought the addition of white to the background, once repeated in my embellishments and Journalling, would help tie everything together. 

Here's what my background looked like once I'd finished making marks and altering it. 

I used Dina Wakley Blackberry paint to colour the Heidi Swapp wood veneer title.
I'm not a huge purple fan but this is sooo lush and was perfect to compliment these photos.
I added some more white marks to the title with a gel pen. 

The alphas are by Fancy Pants Designs and add some more white to my page. I figured there was quite enough colour on my page with the paper itself so, apart from the coloured sequins,
I tried to limit all other additions to my page to either white or black.

I fussy-cut several of these journal spots from a Hambly Screen Print Transparency and added some Tim Holtz Small Talk stickers to them. I really like these little stickers to add phrases and quotes to my pages. 

The last little section of my page is my journalling with a white gel pen, I recreated the jounalling spot from the sketch using Maggie Holmes washi tape, Staples, twine, Heidi Swapp stickers and another fussy-cut flourish from the Hambly Screen Print.  

I'm really happy with how this one turned out and the April mood board and sketch  certainly helped me put it all together easily. I hope you can play along with us this month,

Happy - A Scrapbook Page by Katie

Katie here with my last post for January,
wow, a month almost gone already, crazy!

I am using Fancy Pants Joy Parade again and this time I have actually created a birthday celebration page,
kind of in keeping with the theme of the collection.

I again used a patterned paper for my background, this one is called Love Pretty Garlands and was perfect for my little niece's first birthday celebrations. You can find all the papers in the Joy Parade collection kit. With a background like this, half the work of embellishing is done! There are some more papers layered behind the photos as well and don't forget, you don't always have to cut a whole square or rectangle to mat your photos, you can simply cut strips big enough to back the photo mat, it is a smart way to use your paper!

The Joy Parade ephemera pack certainly has a lot "packed" into it, and so many different shapes, sizes, and even words and sayings making it an awesome starting point when you are ready to embellish. Add in some of the puffy sticker shapes and dots and your embellishing almost does itself!

How cute is the little party hat die cut? I just had to use it on my photo. Also used here are some of the tags and labels, another of my go-to layering pieces.

I love how colourful this Joy Parade Flair is, and being on a white background it doesn't compete for attention on the page.

I created another small cluster at the bottom of the page using the ephemera and also some of the flags in the Joy Parade Matchbook set. This little pack has a collection of paper flags/banners that you can easily use on your pages like I have done with my journaling, or you could even use them in your planners.

The Best Time - A Scrapbook Page by Katie

A sketch is a great way to kickstart your creative juices if you need one,

and who doesn't love an opportunity to win a prize?!

I have used Fancy Pants Joy Parade again for my page, and to suit my photos

I flipped the sketch over so the photos are on the other side.

I did this because of the direction the kid's were looking in the photos,

I didn't want them looking 'out of the page'. So here is my page:

I love a good sketch, especially one that gives you lots of room to make it your own.

My favourite technique is layering with embellishment clusters

and this sketch left plenty of room to do that,

and the Fancy Pants Joy Parade embellishments were so easy to use as well.

I used lots of the patterned paper as the foundations for my page,

including one as the main part of the background.

You can find all the papers for Joy Parade in the collection kit.

I also distressed the edges of my backing paper layers

to add some interest to the background.

I made good use of all the little bits and pieces in the tags and labels pack,

these kinds of things are always great for layering.

This particular cluster of embellishments also included

many of the Joy Parade Puffy Stickers,

including the word and camera.

I think puffy stickers are one of my favourite embellishments!

This title was part of the Joy Parade ephemera pack,

I simply backed it with some of the patterned paper

and then fussy cut around it, and hey presto, a title,

without having to think too hard!

Lots more bits and pieces from the ephemera and tags and labels packs here

and the puffy sticker shapes and dots and general puffy stickers.

I even layered a tag and heart together for extra effect.

The Joy Parade Flair are lots of fun too, and I used this one to bring in some more black,

and the saying fits the photos perfectly as well.

Combining the speech bubble and a puffy sticker helped make this embellishment cluster lots of fun, and maybe the smiley face helped too!

Scrapping Christmas with Non Christmas supplies - with Katie

Good Morning!

And welcome to my first post for Scrappingclearly!

I am so excited to be here and I am looking forward to

sharing my scrappy adventures with you.

So let's get started.

First I wanted to share my awesome DT package that arrived at my door.

All pretty in pink...

And inside this pretty pink box, was the Joy Parade collection by Fancy Pants. 

Isn't it just divine?! Full of lots of colour and lots of possibilities.

Now to create with this amazing collection.

Since we have just celebrated Christmas I decided to use this collection to create a Christmas themed page,

just to show how easy it can be to use papers not themed for Christmas to make a great Christmas page.

My photos are of my nephew and nieces from 2016 opening secret Santa gifts,

and I decided to use the fun papers in strips to create a tree

to bring in the Christmas theme,

and some mixed media in similar colours on the background for interest.

So here is the page:

The easiest way to get your hands on all the papers is to grab the Fancy Pants Joy Parade collection kit.

Given they are double-sided it means you have one of each pattern,

and trust me both sides are fabulous.

On the background, I first used some clear gesso to prime the cardstock base.

Then I used Heidi Swapp Color Shine in Citron, Teal, and pink, and the plastic bag technique,

to create my background (along with some splatters for good measure).

With the background done, the rest of the page came together quickly

using the Fancy Pants Joy Parade ephemera and labels and tags for embellishing and layering.

My photos were mounted on some of the patterned paper - Add a Little Sparkle and Life is a Party,

with a little black ink on the edges to make them stand out.

To make my tree look interesting, I used fringing scissors to give it some dimension

and then used lots of Fancy Pants Joy Parade Puffy Sticker dots like decorations on the tree.

I also outlined the tree using a black pen to help it stand out from the background.

The Fancy Pants Joy Parade Flair are awesome too,

this one is a great addition in the centre of my photo cluster.

Added to that are some more labels and tags, these are so great

for layering and embellishment cluster building.

Christmas Planner - With Karyn Schultz!

Hi Scrapping Clearly Lovelies!!! 

Hope your Christmas was amazing and filled with family, love, and laughter.

It's Karyn here and today I have a Christmas planner to share with you

made using lots of fun products available in the Scrapping Clearly Store. 

I know Christmas is over now but this might inspire you for next year :) 

The base for this project was made from cardstock, some pages I designed in MS Word and printed,

and others are from the Fancy Pants Designs Joy Parade 6x6 paper pad.

I know this paper collection is not Christmas themed but it is so fun and bright

and suits the summery weather here in Australia!

I started by trimming the cardstock into 4 greeting card sized pieces (approx 15cm x 21cm).

Then I folded each in half and stapled together using a long armed stapler. 

Next I trimmed my Christmas printables to approx 8.7cm x 10.5cm

and the sheets of Fancy Pants Designs Joy Parade 6x6 paper pad to 9.5cm x 14cm. 

I attached a piece of the patterned paper, as well as a printable, to each page.

For the cover I attached a diecut and puffy stickers from the Fancy Pants Designs "Joy Parade" collection

and a wood veneer from the Cocoa Vanilla Studio "Tis The Season" collection. 

I have deliberately kept the embellishments to a minimum so that the booklet is not bulky

as I carry it around in my handbag in the lead-up to Christmas.

Here are some pictures of each of the pages in the booklet.

These first pages are for my Christmas card list.

You could design the printables to suit your own planning style.

I've used more puffy stickers on these "gift list" pages - I love the collection of dot, and word stickers. 

These pages are for my family gift list and a spot to attach my Christmas letter. 

I also keep a record of gifts received - mainly to help remind my children who gave them what,

and also ideas for future gifts :) 

These pages are just for adding some fun memories - using these brag cards . 

I made my own calendars for November/December, great to keep track of events!  

Lastly some pages for Christmas day notes, menu plans etc. 

I hope this has inspired you to make your fun planner -

they are also a great way to record and remember gifts you have purchased in previous years!!
