Soak Up The Sun - With Karyn Schultz!

Hi Scrapping Clearly Lovelies,

It's Karyn here,

Today I have a scrapbook page to share with you made using the Fancy Pants Designs "Hello Sunshine" Collection available in the Scrapping Clearly Store. 

I'm also playing along with the June Challenge where I've used a rainbow of colours and roughly followed the sketch :) We would love for you to join the challenge and be in the running to win a Scrapping Clearly voucher - you have until June 30 and you enter by uploading your photo to the album in the facebook group here.  

I started with a sheet of white cardstock and applied some Prima Watercolor Confections using a painting with plastic technique.

 

    

I ended up turning my background up the other way then added some torn strips of paper from the Fancy Pants Designs "Hello Sunshine" Collection kit to the bottom. I matted my photo with more paper from the kit and added a paper doilie. I finished my page with elements from the Ephemera pack and Tags and Labels pack (also in the collection kit).

I also added some elements from the  Heidi Swapp pink puffy number sticker pack.

Magical - 12x12 layout

Hi everyone, 

Hope over this long weekend you managed to get some down time in.
I know I’ve been trying to take time out for some creative play. 

So today I share a 12x12 with you. I’ve been doing a lot of other play with art journals etc because I thought I had become boring in my scrapping. 

But after creating a few new 12x12s I realise I just love this process so much.
Yes, sometimes they can look the same and yes, the process can be the same but it doesn’t matter, it’s about having fun, creating for you, and just really enjoying the art for what it is.
I am my own worst critic. 

So with that, I got inspired by this month's challenge . And I love that we have been combining them.

I’m not sure of the original source, but I’m in awe, and had to use it. So gorgeous! 

And here is my creation.....

How awesome to have these moodboard colours to suit this photo. 

I started with a sheet of Paper Arts Artistry2 for my background, then I spread a bit of gesso, then through a stencil used Jo Sonja’s Texture paste black and then added my colours over it. I chose Distress Oxide in Fossilized Amber and Wild Honey. 

Then I needed to balance the yellows with some blue. So I splashed some mist in aqua, and Liquitex paint marker in cobalt blue which I added water to and flicked around. 

Once dry I stamped a few different images around including the Darkroom Door hexagons and Dina Wakley abstract scribbles. 

Behind my image I used a sheet from this Heidi Swapp 6x8 paper pad  and  one from the Pink Paislee 6x6 Memorandum pad. 

For embellishments I used a few of the arrows from the Heidi Swapp color resist embellishments pack, and a couple of the stickers from the Marquee Love rhinestones pack. 

I finished my page with some of the cool pebble rocks in aqua  mixed with glossy accents  to adhere to the page. These are awesome!! 

This layout is also the sketch flipped on its side.

You Rock, My take on the April sketch, by Tania

Hi lovely Scrappingclearly community! I'm back again with you to share my take on this month's sketch! I found this one inspired me instantly and my layout came together rather quickly!!!

Here's this month's sketch if you haven't seen it!

This month, I'm working with the 'Atlas' Collection by Pink Paislee!! I'm happy with these papers, as I can get some more boy's pages done, which I seem to be on a roll with lately!! I used to struggle, but some how have found the mojo for Scrapping the Men in my life!!! I'm also working with some great Mixed Media products from American Crafts by 'Vicki Boutin'. 

I started by tearing the postcard paper and attatching it to the Here & There paper. Then I trimmed them down and added them to a black, cardstock background. Then I got out the Black Acrylic Paint from Vicki's range, and smeared some strokes on my page with an old credit card. Honestly, the consistency of this paint is awesome. It kind of went on like an ink, so smooth! I really like the effect it had. When that was dry I adhered some of the chunky glitter, from the Platinum Accents, over the black paint. I felt it needed a bit more, so then added some texture paste through a  stencil.

Before I layered some papers behind my photo, I added some stamping on the background, just a subtle few lines. Then I added some stickers from the Teresa Collins, Something Wonderful range.

Other embellishments used were some cute little Wood veneers, from Studio Calico, a chipboard heart and chipboard title, and some Enamel Accents from Ranger, (love these!)

Baby It's Cold Outside

 Good morning scrappy/arty peeps, hope this day finds you well and happy.

The weather here in Armidale has been dreary, cold, and wet (my fave) so very conducive to getting messy indoors by the fire.

I've been playing with the divinely colourful Ranger Dylusions paints. I used an old loyalty card to scrape paint across some Bazzill Marshmallow cardstock, it's heavy weight and specially made for mixed media, awesome! Then, because I wanted the colours to pop more, I cut out my background and mounted it on black card. I borrowed a Prima texture brush (these are so fab) to swipe a little white paint over the colours to tone it down a tad and add some depth.

To create a diagonal visual line across my page I sponged black ink through a star stencil then added my pic and journalling on top. My 'love' subtitle was gold foil and didn't match so I coloured it using a Copic marker.

Washi tapes were used to create a sense of movement and for my big title I inked Pink Paislee Bella Rouge transparent letters (have I said how much I'm loving these? The pack just seems to go on forever!). I attached them using some really old tiny screw brads from my stash, Tim Holtz, I think.

The longest part of this creation was the drying time for the paint, the rest was super quick and easy.

Hope you're finding some creative time with this cold snap, if not then shopping for luscious supplies is a nice alternative. I spied some gorgeous new Dusty Attic chipboard today in the shop.

Gorgeous colors and great designs ! I think those are my favorite colors... oh and feathers ! Look what I did...

You can find a Heidi Swapp paper for the background, 3 sheets of Color Magic resist pattern papers by Heidi Swapp, some mists by Tattered Angels (find your favorites here), some paper doilies, feathers dies, and Say-it-in-crystal centers (Prima Marketing), some beads and fibers...
I created the center doilie with a Lucky8 punch (We R Memory Keepers) and other small punches.

A mix media layout for April sketch

Hello everyone !

Valerie here to show my last layout, made with the Scrapping Clearly sketch for April :

I used papers from the Urban Market paper pack by Teresa Collins, washi tapes by Tim Holtz and We R Memory Keepers, Black Magic and Granite glimmer mists by Tattered Angels, Tea Dye distress ink by Tim Holtz, acrylic stamp by Prima Marketing, black sewing thread, silver microbeads, modeling paste and black watercolor pencil.

I made the title with an old collection of alpha stickers by Sticko :

I glued the microbeads with a gel medium.
You can see that I stamped into the modeling paste to create some dimensional effect :
