Playing with pretty patterned papers today! Yes!

Scrapping clearly has you covered for a HUGE range of patterned papers.... Here is what I used on my page:

* Bella Blvd – Illustrated Faith – Bright and Brave – 12 x 12 – Count the Ways with so many more bright papers: Bright & Brave

I love the Inspired paper - the black background is such a perfect piece of paper to start a page! 

For this page I had another old chipboard circle I dug out of my stash. I gesso'd it white and then painted it with Dina Wakley Media – Gloss Sprays – Fuchsia. This circle created the centre of my layout.

I tore a circle of  Count the Ways paper and layered this behind the circle.

Layered and added in the clusters:

 * Dina Wakley Media Collage Tissue Paper 7.5″X10″ 20/Pkg – Text Collage (for the BLAH BLAH BLAHs)

* Dina Wakley Media Chipboard Shapes – Sprigs (for the white chipboard stems/leaves)

* muslin, enamel dots, BLAH button, flowers and bow from my stash

And like all good pages - we need to finish with some splatters! I used: Dina Wakley Media – Gloss Sprays – White

A fun, bright, blah blah blah layout - kinda perfect for a photo of me!

'Stash Buster'

Happy Wednesday everyone!

It's Amy here popping in with a 'stash busting' blog share today.

I think its fair to say that - as papercrafters - we tend to collect a lot of goodies that we love!

So this post is focusing on using scraps of paper and combining them with embellishments.

The beauty here is that I have combined several ranges from the Scrapping Clearly store. 

I managed to create a variety of embellishments ready to be added to any of my scrap projects.

Some of these vary from tags to note cards to decorative pieces to place next a photo.

I put together a range of masculine and feminine goodies - that way I could have a good variety in my stash ready to go.

I used the following fabulous products from the Scrapping Clearly store - Fancy Pants Designs 'Joy Parade' paper and embellishment collection; Simple Stories - 'Carpe Diem' papers; and Pink Fresh Studio 'Escape the Ordinary' range.

For the bits and pieces I used - Heidi Swapp enamel shapes and tags; Studio Calico Washi Tape - Seven Paper; Me and My Big Ideas puffy stickers 'The Happy Planner'; My Mind's Eye 'Good Vibes' enamel dots; Pink Paislee gold puffy stickers; Mambi Sticks - puffy stickers; Bella Blvd 'Zebra' buttons; Um Wow Studio layered stars painted with Dina Wakley 'Sterling' paint 

The twine is from my stash and I have placed some gorgeous Charms Creations handmade goodies over some of the layers,

It was great making these goodies - and now they are ready to go.

Here and Now Layout - With Karyn Schultz!

Hi Scrapping Clearly Lovelies!

It's Karyn here, 

and today I have a scrapbook page to share with you made with papers from the Bella Bllvd Illustrated Faith Bright and Brave collection and Heidi Swapp Embellishments - all available in the Scrapping Clearly Store.

I started with a sheet of white cardstock and added strips of Geared up for Jesus (teal) and
Borders paper (black geometric) on to each side.

Then I used a stencil (KaiserCraft bubbly mini template) and Faber Castell glass bead glitter gel
in a few spots across my page. 

Once this had thoroughly dried I matted my photo on many layers of paper from the Illustrated Faith Bold and Bright collection kit. I then selected a heap of flower shapes and a title from the Heidi Swapp September skies color magic die cut pkt and painted them a teal colour using my watercolour pan paints. 

On the right side of the page I added more papers from the kit and fussy cut 2 of the cassette tape shapes. I then added a title and other elements from the Pink Paislee Fancy Free collection foam glitter thickers

I attached the Color Magic flowers while they were still damp - I love how they have curled as they dried and given a 3D effect. finally I added some splatters of Heidi Swapp Teal Color Shine across the page.

Birthday Cards - With Karyn Schultz!

Hi Scrapping Clearly Lovelies!

It's Karyn here, 

and today I have 2 cards to share made with papers from the Bella Bllvd Illustrated Faith Bright and Brave collection and Heidi Swapp Embellishments - all available in the Scrapping Clearly Store.

The card bases are 6" x 6" and made from white cardstock. I added a layer of Illustrated Faith Bible Journalling paper (text) and a layer of Illustrated Faith Count the Ways paper (coloured polka dots). Then added some Heidi Swapp glitter tags, a Heidi Swapp bow embellishment, some Heidi Swapp glitter alphas, Heidi Swapp puffy number stickers, and a handmade sequin pocket.

I made the sequin pocket by sewing 2 pieces of plastic (from pocket page protectors), leaving a small opening to insert the sequins (from the Teresa Collins Daily Stories collection) then sewing the hole closed. The heart was trickier to do - I marked the shape with a pencil first but it was very hard to see on the plastic and it was very slippery to sew - still, I like the rustic look. This is a great way to use up sequins and I love the look! 

For the next card I used a layer of Illustrated Faith Bible Journaling paper (stripes) then attached a strip of the reverse text side to the bottom half of the card. I added more Heidi Swapp glitter tags, some Heidi Swapp glitter alphas, a Heidi Swapp glitter wood veneer word, and a handmade heart sequin pocket.

It's Karyn here, 

and today I have a scrapbook page to share with you made with papers from the Bella Blvd Illustrated Faith Bright and Brave collection and Heidi Swapp Embellishments - all available in the Scrapping Clearly Store. I love how bright and vibrant these papers are and love love love the designs!

I started with a sheet of Jesus is my Jam paper (music notes) and I used a 'painting with plastic' technique to apply watercolours across the page. I chose yellow, orange and pink colours to go with the sunrise in my photo. 

Then I selected a heap of flower shapes and a title from the Heidi Swapp September skies color magic die cut pkt and painted them the same colours as my background. This is a great way to use lots of the die cuts in a pack - often I seem to try and save them lol. 

Next, I added some puffy stickers .

Finally, I added some Tim Holtz word stickers These stickers are my absolute fave!!

Christmas Eve Traditions and a Step by Step Tutorial by Leonie Neal-Dawson

Merry Christmas Eve to all of our Scrapping Clearly family.

It's Christmas Eve 2017 and I'm sharing a scrapbook layout with my 2016 Christmas Eve photo!

For many years now I have been taking a picture of my family of six on Christmas Eve.

I try to find different ways to photograph us all but it gets harder and harder each year to think of something new and with three teenagers, and a tween, cooperation as you can imagine is quite a feat!

Hence last year there were no faces just the six of us standing in our Santa Sacks. No need to worry about who is smiling, whose eyes are closed etc.

Do you take an annual Christmas photo? Or have any little Christmas traditions in your family?

I think they're fun and these are the types of memories that stick in my mind when I think of family events.

I've prepared a step-by-step showing the process involved in creating my background for you below.

I began by sketching some trees on Bazzill Marshmallow cardstock. I knew I was going to be adding ink and wet mediums to my page so I wanted a thick cardstock that would withstand lots of wet mediums

and not end up too buckled.

I started adding some colour with different shades of Distress Ink Stains.

Just tapping them inside the boundaries of the trees I had sketched. I used Peeled Paint, Bundled Sage, Shabby Shutters, and Cracked Pistachio. I wasn't too happy with the immediate result and knew that more layers were definitely needed so I added some gesso with a sponge and then some texture paste with a spatula.

I added some more colour on top of the gesso and Texture paste with Twisted Citron Distress Oxide Re-inker and some water to spread it over the trees. Finishing touch was with a Fude Ball pen to outline the trees.

This pen is fantastic to use over mediums like texture paste, ink and gesso.

My photo has been matted on papers from the Bella Blvd Illustrated Faith collection. 

More Distress stains were used to add some colour to the sky, and the tree trunks were coloured with a quick smudge of brown Gelatos.

My Christmas trees have been decorated with enamel dots from Cocoa Vanilla Studios, some sequins and wood veneer stars from my stash.

Well, that's last Christmas Eve's photo scrapped.

I wonder if I can come up with something different for todays' photo?

Wish me luck with getting those teens to cooperate!

Beautiful Bella Blvd - Bright and Brave collection

Hello Scrapping Clearly readers.
Leonie Neal-Dawson dropping by today to share 

a page using the Bright and Brave Bella Blvd collection kit from the Illustrated Faith line. 

This range is on special in the Scrapping Clearly shop so if lovely bright colours appeal to you head over to the shop for a bargain. 

Last weekend my youngest had her Confirmation day so this collection has been perfect for me to scrap this religious occasion.

Naturally I took loads of Photos and my daughter was so excited 

to be celebrating this special event she happily complied.

The photo I scrapped today is perhaps my favourite from the whole day.  

It's just her to a T, she has an endearing quality of always managing to close her eyes when I take pictures and combined with her sweet smile it's just adorable (but I'm her mum and am of course completely biased).

(apologies for the reflections those transparencies are extremely hard to photograph) 

I've used a Hambly screen print with a yellow design overlaid on a turquoise patterned paper from the Collection kit.  I thought about cutting the screen print up and using the individual frames  but I just loved the yellow and Teal combo and couldn't get past it's simplistic loveliness. 

I cut the typewriter elements from another of the patterned papers and placed them under the screen print and then my photo, patterned paper matting and embellishments were adhered over the top of the screen print.

Bella Blvd Illustrated Faith with Leonie

Hello to all our readers on the Scrapping Clearly blog.  Leonie with you today and being a new month we have a brand new sketch and moodboard competition for you to join.

This month I'll be creating with the Bella Blvd Illustrated Faith collection.  A perfect collection for me this month as my daughter will be making her confirmation next week so I'm sure I'll have plenty of photos to scrap of that occasion. 

In the meantime though I chose to scrap some selfies of one of my sons and myself.   All the b-sides of this collection are bright fun patterns and not necessarily Christian related so suitable for any photos you like. 

I did some layered stencilling on this Black and White music note paper using Dylusions Paints.
