Hi SC friends!

Can't believe it's the pointy end of April, Crazy!

Today I have a layout I hope will inspire a little end of month creativity for you all.

I kept my background work very easy and simple. Firstly I started by applying Modelling Paste through a stencil allowing to dry naturally.

Then I went in with my stamps. I used a Face from Dina Wakley's interesting faces collection and a script stamp I have.

Then I proceeded to create my layers under my image. I used a few tags from in my stash but also created tags from Ella & Viv papers to bring out some of the colours in the photo, I also tore a couple of pieces and tucked these into my layers also.

In amongst these I tucked in Some Pink Fresh Fabric dies from the 'escape the ordinary' range, little arrows and tags poking out from the layers, creating visual interest.

The metals (1 from Tim Holtz and the other Finnabair) I painted in black Gesso and then rubbed Prima Wax over them, love the metallic sheen this creates. I also applied this technique to my chippy.

Finally a few Tim Holtz small talk stickers and a few flicks of Distress Oxide in Broken China this page was complete.

A great way to use up left overs in your stash and play with new items too.

Kick Back - with Emma.

Well the long weekend just flew past!!!
Did it even happen? Hmmmm…...

 Sadly I didn't get a lot of time to be creative, but I did get some time to get a little inky and create this page for you all today.

Oh boy did I get inky! I started off by priming my cardstock with clear gesso.

Then I pulled out lots of my Distress Oxide Reinkers! Wow this was so therapeutic and fun. 

I applied a little water to the background first and then 'painted' with a watercolour brush the oxides. Layering, dotting and blending the colours together.

I had applied my remaining Tim Holtz Remnant Rubs before I started this procedure, and I just love how they resist the inks so they stay prominent.

Behind my photo I ripped a couple of different grunge papers from the Ella & Viv range. And I had a left over WRMK frame that I tucked into the layers also.

The flags are from Pink fresh and I loved the texture this gave to the page. They complimented the photo with the denim vibe.

The quotes are the ever favourite Tim Holtz small talk stickers, this time I used ones from the 'snarky' collection.

Lastly I added a few splashes of black Liquitex ink over my photo and page to bring it all together.

That's this little beauty all complete.

Brothers - layout with Emma.

Hi everyone.

Emma here on the SC blog with my first creation for December.

I chose to scrap an actual photo this time....I know right...shock horror, LOL!

And I chose my boys.

I started by using the B side of a sheet from the Cocoa Vanilla Boys Rule collection.

I then started to create tags for behind my picture by using a sheet of the very cool Ella & Viv Graffiti range. I chose 'word'. I love these papers so much, but as a background paper, it can be a little busy, so to use as tags or layers, it's just perfect.

In amongst my tags I used a little bit of a sheet from Heidi Swapp's die cut pieces. These are 6x6 sheets that have a range of cuts, I picked the grid one and cut random strips for the texture to come through.

The Cocoa Vanilla Ephermera bits also got a little work out on this layout, using the stars mostly and the 'brothers' title. 

The colours on my background sheet, (before I added my layers) are a combination of Dylusions Ink Spray in Vanilla Custard and a Distress Oxide in Mustard seed.

I then also flicked a little bit of Lindy's Moon Shadow Mist around.

Ella & Viv Graffiti Collection with Leonie

Hello, Leonie with you today. I took this photo of my daughter in January this year and have been wanting to scrap it for a while but just needed the right paper to go with it.  Then I came across this gorgeous paper in my last DT package from ScrappingClearly. 

How perfectly does this paper match my pic?  Gorgeous grey/black brick work similar to the photo with the addition of bright pops of colour.  

It's from the Ella and Viv Graffiti collection and is called The Wall.

Here's how my page finished up, I'm really happy with it.

I took some pictures a long the way to show you how my page came together. 

I began by fussy cutting The Wall paper to matt my photo on plus a few extra bits that to surround the picture. 

I used textured white cardstock for the base and added Dylusions inksprays with a paint brush so I could control where the colour went. Next I used The Crafters Workshop Modelling Paste to add some texture through a stencil, I also used a second stencil and traced the pattern with a black Journalling pen.   I also added some stamping with Kaisercraft and Prima background stamps.

Next I adhered my cut-out patterned paper to the card stock and 

added some more stamping on top of this.

Heidi Swapp silver puffy stickers and the Heidi Swapp Acetate word were added last along with some Tim Holtz Remnant Rub-ons.  Around the border of my page I added some self affirming quotes for my daughter.

Love Life Scrapbook Page - With Karyn Schultz!

Hi Scrapping Clearly Lovelies,

It's Karyn here, 

Today I'm sharing a scrapbook page with you :)

Have you seen all of the fabulous new papers available in the Scrapping Clearly Store? I've fallen in love with all of the Ella and Viv papers and the Paper Arts papers. They are quite different from the papers I'm usually attracted to because they have a mixed media look. Check them out - I'm sure you will find some (or all lol) in your shopping basket just like I did!!

For this page, I used the Ella and Viv Graffiti red white and blue paper.

I started by sticking torn strips of book paper (an old dictionary actually) and muslin, in sections to my page using gel medium. Then I added some stencilling, corn cob 6x6 with white gesso and Dylusions old school numbers stencil and black DWM paint.

Next I added some stamping using Carabelle Studio Scribbles in my journal stamp set and various coloured ink pads. 

     

I added some chipboard painted with black gesso and paper flowers, along with Mambi chipboard stickers and Tim Holtz Ideaology small talk word stickers. 

Lastly, I added some splatters of blue, red, and black paint from Prima Watercolor confections - the classics.

I love how I could build extra layers on the paper yet it still felt cohesive.

Rainbow Love Layout by Leonie Neal-Dawson

sharing my take on the April combined challenge.
Have you seen it yet? 

You can add your own take on this challenge in our Facebook group.

There are so many prompts you could choose from, I see Autumn tones, camping/holiday themes,
rainbows, foliage and more.  

But it was that rainbow hot air balloon from the mood board that really drew me in.

I chose this background paper by Ella and Viv from their Graffiti collection.

It's such an awesome piece of paper that just makes me happy looking at it.  

There are others designed in a similar style in the Graffiti collection including some

really grungy ones perfect for male pages. 

I've got three photos on my page but I've followed the sketch fairly closely. 

Although this paper is all kinds of fabulous just by itself I wanted to add some of my own marks and decided to do this with a Dina Wakley Stencil and Liquitex Gesso. I thought the addition of white to the background, once repeated in my embellishments and Journalling, would help tie everything together. 

Here's what my background looked like once I'd finished making marks and altering it. 

I used Dina Wakley Blackberry paint to colour the Heidi Swapp wood veneer title.
I'm not a huge purple fan but this is sooo lush and was perfect to compliment these photos.
I added some more white marks to the title with a gel pen. 

The alphas are by Fancy Pants Designs and add some more white to my page. I figured there was quite enough colour on my page with the paper itself so, apart from the coloured sequins,
I tried to limit all other additions to my page to either white or black.

I fussy-cut several of these journal spots from a Hambly Screen Print Transparency and added some Tim Holtz Small Talk stickers to them. I really like these little stickers to add phrases and quotes to my pages. 

The last little section of my page is my journalling with a white gel pen, I recreated the jounalling spot from the sketch using Maggie Holmes washi tape, Staples, twine, Heidi Swapp stickers and another fussy-cut flourish from the Hambly Screen Print.  

I'm really happy with how this one turned out and the April mood board and sketch  certainly helped me put it all together easily. I hope you can play along with us this month,

Ella & Viv Graffiti Papers

Morning everyone,

I hope you have all had an amazing Easter so far.

The weather has been absolutely glorious.

I was lucky enough to receive the awesome Ella & Viv Graffiti papers in my DT pack and found that they just worked so well with the awesome photos of Moon, the band, in the recording studio,

photo credit to Russell Cherry. 

The papers have so many colours in them that will suit almost any photo you have.

I have used Marshmallow cardstock with the Ella and Viv Paper Company – Graffiti Collection – 12 x 12 Paper – Paint Drip along with a selection of Tim Holtz Distress Ink Stamp Pads.

To finish my layout I have used Tim Holtz Idea-Ology words.

I love the versatility the Tim Holtz Idea-ology words.

I have also included some Dina Wakely Washi Tape on a couple of the edges and under the photo.

To finish my layout I have inked around the edges.

What About Your Happy Face...

Hey, and hello, and happy Monday scrappy friends!!

Today I am playing along with the March challenges. Well, the March challenge, both have been rolled into one which was a bit different and fun!

As I'm certain you noticed, I ended up flipping the page and am really happy with my end result. 

Again, I've started with one of those super cool Ella & Viv papers, "Cardinal and Gold" to be precise, and built my layout on top of that. I chose that paper because it included almost all of the colours from the mood board - the only colours missing were the pink and green but I ticked both of those boxes, one with messy mixed media and the other with, of course my Minc ;)

I've used some Dylusions acrylic paint in Polished Jade with my silicone brush to apply my first messy layer on the background, sticking fairly closely to the sketch.

In line with the sketch my next layer was some watered down black gesso. I found a cool little dropper tool that had been buried in my stash but you could very easily use a big paint brush or a pipette to get the same effect by splattering from high above the page.

I added some pink as a mat under my 3 photos using some of the Heidi Swapp Minc cardstock. I've added more pink using some of the Heidi Swapp pink foil on the title - using the Minc Alpha Stickers - and the subtitle - using one of the Jumbo Words.

With the background being so bright, colourful and busy I didn't feel like I needed to add much more so I added my journalling, which I typed up in strips, and 2 of the Heidi Swapp Sequin Shapes - Disco Arrows and one of the Cocoa Vanilla Studios You Rock Rubber Charm pieces.

I have added 2 dates on this page - firstly the date the photos were taken, and secondly the date the page was made/journalling done. I think I will pop this in his current album so the journalling continues in chronological order.
