Ella & Viv Graffiti Papers

Morning everyone,

I hope you have all had an amazing Easter so far.

The weather has been absolutely glorious.

I was lucky enough to receive the awesome Ella & Viv Graffiti papers in my DT pack and found that they just worked so well with the awesome photos of Moon, the band, in the recording studio,

The papers have so many colours in them that will suit almost any photo you have.

I have used Marshmallow cardstock with the Ella and Viv Paper Company – Graffiti Collection – 12 x 12 Paper – Paint Drip along with a selection of Tim Holtz Distress Ink Stamp Pads.

To finish my layout I have used Tim Holtz Idea-Ology words.

I love the versatility the Tim Holtz Idea-ology words.

I have also included some Dina Wakely Washi Tape on a couple of the edges and under the photo.

To finish my layout I have inked around the edges.

Art Journal Page

Hi Everyone,

today I am going to share with you one of my favorite art journal pages

created using the awesome paint ranges stocked by Scrappingclearly.

I have used a Prima Vanity Fair art journal but this would work just as well in a Dylusion's art journal in any size.

I have used a combination of the amazing acrylic paints that Scarppingclearly stocks from Liqutex and Winsor and Newton.

I have chosen a blue and white palette with just a hint of yellow.

I incorporated stamps and chipboard as well as Liqutex inks.

I love how inks flood and pool in the chipboard and

how the white ink splatters so well.

An Abstract World

Hello to the Scrapping Clearly family.

I am back to day to share another piece of abstract art with you using the wonderful products available in the Scrappingclearly store.

Today's creation uses product from Jane Davenport's range  - her collage papers, and acrylic paints from Winsor & Newton. 

Abstract art work is all about randomness and using different and odd pieces to create an image that is pleasant to the eye, it is a very individual process and every piece is truly unique.

To create this I have used good quality french mixed media paper.

I have found when creating a larger piece, I have become what one would call a paper snob, this is because the better the paper, the better the products work.

I started by taking the Jane Davenport collage paper and tearing it into random size pieces and the adhering them over my page (this piece is A3 in size). The glue I have chosen to to use is the Dina Wakely Gel Medium. I have also secured my page to a board and water bathed it to prevent buckling you can secure it well with low-tack washi tape, I have used masking tape.

Once the gel medium was dry I layered random spots of paint over the page and, while the paint was wet, I added some clean sand into the paint. The paints used here are Winsor and Newtons Cadmium Yellow Medium Series 3, Cobalt Turquoise Series 3 and Permanent Rose Series 3

Once the paint was dry I just shook off any excess sand, I didn't remove it all as it adds texture to the page. I then added random spots of shellac over the page, making sure to add it over some of the sand areas but not all.

There you have an easy but effective piece of abstract art.

This technique can also be used in your art journals.

Getting a Little Messy - With Kim

Morning everyone today Lisa is having a day off posting her mixed media day and has handed the reins to me. I am sharing a page or 2 from my art journal with you that I have created, using many of the mixed media items in the Scrappingclearly Shop.

First up today is a page where i have created a dream catcher I created the background using Dylusions Paints and lots of bits and pieces I had lying around.

I just love who vibrant the colours are of the Dylusion paint it is just amazing. As you can see ihave used lots of bits and pieces to create my catcher.

I am also sharing a page I have created using The Crafters Workshop stencils Glimmer Mists and silk paint paint but you could use the new Prima paints just as well the random stamping adds to the feel of this page and the feeling of depth.

As you can see below i have shadow stamped an image of a person into the stencil body.

And this image just shows how the random mixing stamping paints and mists can work so well togther.

Welcome to my share today on the Scrapping Clearly blog today I am sharing my take on the sketch I have made my take a fraction more masculine. The sketch is an awesome sketch for using multiple photos.

i ahve used the awesome Life's Emporium range from Teresa Collins to complete my layout and don't you just love how the buttons work so well the range is so well thought out and has such an earthy feel to it it just works so well with many different photos.

 

now this is the sketch I would so love to see what you make with it.
