A big Hello Everyone....welcome to Art Journal Friday!

It's Michelle back at ya' for another bit of Art Journal fun!

This time I decided to do a page that was relevant to the situation we all find ourselves in at the moment, just as a reminder when all goes back to "normal" of what we all went through!

So here is the page....I decided to call it...."Stay Home...." I know so inventive of me!

This page is in my Dina Wakley Mixed Media Journal and I used a combination of paint from the Dina Wakley Heavy Body Acrylic and Dylusions paint.

I created a flip out with a torn out page from the journal and Grid Washi tape, I tried to match the grid on the face of the Dina Wakley "Work in Progress"Stamp.

The House on the Flip Out  is from a collage sheet I designed for Scrap FX called "Happy Houses" and I decided to use the circle and heart motif throughout the piece to bring it all together.

I added a few scribbles here and there as I usually do for no other reason other than ....it's how I roll!

For the words I got a little lazy and just used my Dymo Label maker that was sitting on my desk after unsuccessfully trying to organise my space for the upteenth time! 

I then added a few splats of colour with Dina Wakley's Gloss Sprays in Turquoise and Magenta and I called the page done!

May Moodboard Inspiration - With Karyn Schultz!

Hi Scrapping Clearly Lovelies!

It's Karyn here and today I have a page in my Art Journal that I created using lots of fun products available at Scrapping Clearly!

I'm playing along with the May moodboard challenge. We would love for you to join in with this challenge and be in the running to win a Scrapping Clearly store voucher. You have until May 31 and you need to upload your challenge here. 

I've used a calico page in my 8x10 Dina Wakley Media Journal. I find these pages a bit challenging because they react differently with paint. I started by adding a layer of clear gesso to the page. I used clear because I wanted the calico to still be a highlight of the page. Next I added a water wash of DWM Marine acrylic paint. 

I took a white DWM tag and some white cardstock and added  more DWM paints in Eggplant, Marine and Sky (colours from the moodboard). 

I stamped an Art-By-Marlene bird stamp onto some watercolour paper then painted using Prima Watercolor Confections Classics. Once the paint was dry I added some neon pencil highlights then fussy cut this bird to add to my page.

Here is my finished page. 

I've used some metal dies to cut shapes from the painted paper. I've matted the bird on the tag as well as some of the die-cuts.

I've added Tim Holtz small talk - snarky, word stickers as well as some mark making and doodling using Posca paint pens.

Dear Scrapping Clearly fans!

Today we go pretty and pink! I used the Maggie Holmes Chasing Dreams collection.

And here is the full page...

I fussy cut some butterflies (from the Monarch paper), and I machine stitched them to a beautiful Collected paper. 

To finished I added water washed white gesso and splatters, as well as splatters of Colour Blast Shimmer Spray in Punch.

I also included some fun pink brads and a small pink Heidi Swapp puffy sticker.

A simple and sweet layout - I made the page all about these amazing papers!

Hi everyone.

Here is my take on this month's mood board.

I started by brayering on some Dina Wakley paint in Heather then spreading some Nuvo Crackle Mousse in Celestial Blue through a stencil.

Once dry some lovely crackles will  appear.

I then watered down some more Dina Wakley paints in Magenta, Sky and Marine and flicked them over the background and added some Cocoa Vanilla Happiness ephemera.

For my title I used a Dear Lizzy die cut phrase and although I loved the yellow in it, it wasn't working for my page.   So if you don't like it - just change it!   Some gesso and a marker and I was all good.

May Moodboard Inspirtation

I love how the mood boards take crafters on various journeys. Our interpretations are wide and varied.

I took a white paper doily and sprayed it with some lindy's cosmopolitan pink.
I added some French Lilac Violet Lindy spray to my messy mat and spritzed with water. Then I lowered my background paper to it just through the centre.

I finished off with some old rub ons I came across, left over chipboard pieces (KinderKreations of cause) and some flowers

I am looking forward to seeing all your entries for this months. It is a joy to see what everyone comes up with.

Funky Folk Art Journal page by Michelle Logan

Hi All! Are you ready for another Friday Art Journal page?

Today I played with one of my Funky Folk designs...I know shameless plug...but hey they are fun and super easy to incorporate as a focal point on a page.

So without further ado here it is: 

In my Art BY Marlene Journal I used one of the images in the Scrap FX Funky Folk- Snarky set as my focal point.

 The background was a red hot mess to be honest, as it was a paint cleanup page. So I basically set about pushing it into the background, using numerous stamps, stencils and paint splatters, then covered that mess with the spotty paper from Kylie and sewn scraps from my desk.

  then really needed to pull it all together after attaching my fella' as it was very messy and the background was still too strong...so i then used the black marks to head the eye to the focal point....I then found them to be too strong so I headed to dotty town which kind of worked...oh well I tried! LOL!
