 Hi everyone and happy crafting Tuesday.

Today I have a page again inspired by the gorgeous moodboard and I had a head start as my base was some leftover Colour Blast paste from my last LO.

Previously I had scraped some paste through a stencil.   I gave the back of the stencil a spritz with water and then laid it on some white cardstock using the stencil like a stamp.

I did a bit of stash busting and used some very old stickers around where I thought my photo would go.

I added some Art Anthology Velvet dimensional paint (Fiji) (This stuff is fabulous and currently on special!) through a stencil and then again spritzed it and added the leftover to another piece of white cardstock. I cleaned the back of the stencil with a baby wipe and used the baby wipe to swipe a bit of the colour to the edges of my LO.

For more depth I added some Color Burst (Yellow Ochre) and Lindy's Magical shakers (Yodeling Yellow) using the packaging technique.

With my background done, I layered my photo with some paper scraps from my stash, title (Joy Parade) and some ephemera (Heidi Swapp, Amy Tangerine & Jillibean Soup). 

(My stash is coloured coordinated (of course) and huge as I keep anything that is over a couple of inches and some if I particularly love it as small as an inch!)

Here is my page!

I gesso'd the white background.

I used a soft brush to rub the Dina acrylic paint (Sedona and Tangerine) through the stencil.

Added extra water to spread some colour and splatter around the stenciling.

I painted the back of the butterflies with the Dina acrylic paint (Turquoise), and also painted softly some edges with the same colour and added some splatters.

Finished with a sticker title and the art pebbles.

May Moodboard Inspiration - With Karyn Schultz!

Hi Scrapping Clearly Lovelies!

It's Karyn here and today I have a page in my Art Journal that I created using lots of fun products available at Scrapping Clearly!

I'm playing along with the May moodboard challenge. We would love for you to join in with this challenge and be in the running to win a Scrapping Clearly store voucher. You have until May 31 and you need to upload your challenge here. 

I've used a calico page in my 8x10 Dina Wakley Media Journal. I find these pages a bit challenging because they react differently with paint. I started by adding a layer of clear gesso to the page. I used clear because I wanted the calico to still be a highlight of the page. Next I added a water wash of DWM Marine acrylic paint. 

I took a white DWM tag and some white cardstock and added  more DWM paints in Eggplant, Marine and Sky (colours from the moodboard). 

I stamped an Art-By-Marlene bird stamp onto some watercolour paper then painted using Prima Watercolor Confections Classics. Once the paint was dry I added some neon pencil highlights then fussy cut this bird to add to my page.

Here is my finished page. 

I've used some metal dies to cut shapes from the painted paper. I've matted the bird on the tag as well as some of the die-cuts.

I've added Tim Holtz small talk - snarky, word stickers as well as some mark making and doodling using Posca paint pens.

Moodboard Art Journalling - With Karyn Schultz!

Hi Scrapping Clearly Lovelies!!

It's Karyn here, and today I have an art journal page to share with you made using lots of goodies available in the Scrapping Clearly Store.

I'm also playing along with the May Moodboard Challenge. We would love for you to join the challenge and be in the running to win a Scrapping Clearly voucher - you have until May 31 and you enter by uploading your photo to the album in the facebook group here.

I'm using a Small Dylusions journal. I added some background colour using Prima Watercolor Confections and a painting with plastic technique. Then I added some stencilling using TCW black modelling paste. Next I added some background stamping.

 

Next I added elements from the Heidi Swapp Wolf Pack collection. As soon as I saw this collection I knew had to have it and it worked perfectly with this moodboard challenge. I used the ephemera and the 6x6 paper pad.  

 

I finished the page with chipboard and cotton thread from my stash and I drew around the edge of the page with a Fude Ball pen.

'Find joy...'

Hi everyone! It's a new month and so we have a new Moodboard. Today my share is inspired by this May Moodboard! 

And so this is my take on this Moodboard.

This tag was a challenge for me, as it involved lots of paying around with ideas and working with different mediums from the store.

For the background I used various layers of mediums from the store: Distress Oxide in 'Fossilized Amber' and 'Frayed Burlap'; Dina Wakley Heavy Body Paints in 'Elephant', 'Stirling' and 'Night'; and Dina Wakley Scribble Sticks.

For the next layer I used roughly applied ColourBlast Colour Paste in 'Steel' and Art Alchemy Acrylic Paint in Gold. To give a rustic look I used a heatgun close enough until bubbles formed. Then, for more depth, I stamped randomly over the surface with Stazon ink in 'Jet Black' with my favourite Prima Finnabair Vintage Vanity Collection clear acrylic stamp. 

Next, I added splatters of white acrylic paint mixed with water to allow good flow. 

Once the background was complete I set to work on my large cluster. In it I used a chipboard coloured with both ColourBlast Colour Paste in 'Steel' and Art Alchemy paint. 

From the store I used Prima Flowers; Advantus - Tim Holtz - Idea-ology - Keyholes; Heidi Swapp decorative tag - inked with Distress Stain in 'Faded Jeans'. The wood veneer is from my stash - you can find other wood veneer products to your liking in store.

I have scattered some Studio Calico Essentials - Chip Shapes Stars in black / grey around the page. 

Finally, for the title, I used the Tim Holtz Idea-ology Collection - Small Talk.

It was great fun creating this tag, with the inspiration of the colours from the Moodboard. It did take time, as was experimenting and playing around with the mediums but that's the beauty of art, right?
