Project Life Week 16 and 17 - With Karyn!

Hi Scrapping Clearly Lovelies!!! 

It's Karyn here and today I'm showing you Week 16 and 17 for my "Schultz Family 2016" Project Life Album. I've fallen so far behind with my Project Life this year that the only way I felt that I could catch up would be to try 1 week to a page. The biggest challenge is using less photos but lets see how this goes! 
I've mainly used the Crate Paper Maggie Holmes Gather collection which is available at Scrapping Clearly. For these pages I've mainly used the blue and green papers from this collection. By selecting certain papers from a single collection you can get quite a different look. My week 14 that I blogged last week used the same collection but mainly the pink/peach colours!

Here is a close up of the LHS. For this page I've used 6"x6" pockets. I love using these pockets when I dont have as many photos. The hard part about using different sized pocket designs is that you never know what photos you will have from week to week. 

I kept this next card simple with some stickers from the thicker accents and the embellishments pack.

I love to add watercolouring to my cards to customise and personalise them. For 2 of the cards I added some painted strips and splatters made using my Prima Watercolor Confections - Decadent Pies paints. These paints are just amazing - so creamy and vibrant. I like to mix them in a paint pallete to get it watery enough for good splattering! 

Here is the end result with some added paper strips, a wooden button embellishment and a foiled acetate overlay.  

Here is a close up of the RHS. On some of the cards on this side I've used Ranger enamel accents. This product is perfect for creating your own enamel dots of any size. I've used the blue ribbon colour on these pages.

Here is the other watercoloured card with an added foil acetate overlay.

I wanted to add some wood veneer hearts to my cards but they needed some extra bling. I just wanted to cover half of them with sparkle so I masked with washi tape to get a perfectly straight line!

Telepathic Scrapping

 Howdy folks , Lisa here with a Friday mixed media blog update .

Today I am sharing with you a layout I completed last week , but started in July..

Do you have layouts like that ?

Ones that you start and then , get distracted and they resurface, whenever ..

I have a few of those. 

But the story to this one is... I was sitting down to start a Louise Nelson class at a retreat in Melbourne during the year. I had gesso'd my board and had painted some Dylusions bubblegum pink onto the page-much different to Louises' colours scheme and

 was waiting patiently for the class to start.............then my friend from school days walked into the room and well catch up time was limited so I baled out to chat with my friend .

 which meant , I missed the class. :(

So this week I attacked it again, with Louise as my telepathic muse. :)

 Being a Louise Class ,it was of course, 1-a minimalist style  *err yeah,not that easy for me .

And 2-all about the Wire Trim we were working with, which unfortunately Kylie doesn't have the Prima Trim available- but if you wanted it,I am positive she would  hunt it down for you.

I started with little script and floral stamping,

using Staz on black ink in the background to add a little flow.

At one end I stapled the Trim down onto the pink painted section ,using a long armed stapler,I

then weaved some muslin in through and over the wire to soften and semi hide the ends of the trim.

Black cardboard matt behind the photo to pop it and I adhered the photo with a little express-it glue

_all good because I have matt my photo, so no warpage.

I then twisted the wire trim around to create a frame around the focal part of the photo, and pulled and twisted the bottom of the trim to create 3D flourishes to represent to base of the bouquet the girls are holding, thus, supporting the flow of the theme throughout this piece .

A little cotton thread in white, yellow and green to pop the colours in the bouquet, then a few

Me and my big Ideas chippy pieces and 

a strip word from Tim Holtz -small talk stickers complete this layout. 

Im keeping this one simple, a la Lou 

Big Love to Louise Nelson for her pure inspiration .

I had the gorgeous Kaiser Boho Dreams range this month ... that arrow stamp, seriously cool!!

I kept this page very minimal ... I used gelatos on the background to mimic the bokeh sketch.

This is Cool with Amy Prior in my Happy Place!

Hi there Scrapping Clearly fans! Amy Prior back again with you all today, this time sharing a quick layout that I created using the fabulous Mood Board Challenge for October 2016. Here is the Mood Board and you can click here to view the challenge details...

Here is the layout that I created using the mood board as my inspiration. I was really inspired by the gorgeous colours and watercolour elements on this mood board.

This layout was created by starting off with a 12x12 piece of White (Marshmallow) Bazzil Cardshoppe Cardstock that I have added some stencilling over the top using Prima - Art Extravagance - Texture Paste - Clear Crackle. Once the Clear Crackle Paste was dry, I have sprayed some puddles of water over the top of the background before sprinkling some Colour Blast - Shimmer Dust - Sunflower over the top of the water. If there is not enough water to move the shimmer dust around the page, simply spray a little bit more water over the top to spread it out. 

While the Shimmer Dust was drying, I have sprayed various flowers from the Heidi Swapp - September Skies - Colour Magic Die Cuts. I have used Colour Blast - Shimmer Dust - Sunflower, Colour Blast - Shimmer Spray - Rose Petal, Colour Blast - Shimmer Spray - Apple of my eye, Colour Blast - Shimmer Spray - Deep Water, Colour Blast - Shimmer Spray - Singin' the Blues, and Colour Blast - Shimmer Spray - Fire Engine. I have then heat dried the background and the die cut pieces so that I could continue with the layout quickly. You could leave them to dry naturally also if you preferred. 

The final touches to this layout included adding lots of gorgeous layers of Dear Lizzy - Happy Place Collection - Patterned Papers as well as some Heidi Swapp - Mini Instaframes around my photographs. Lastly I embellished with lots of goodies including Dear Lizzy - Happy Place Collection - Brads, Dear Lizzy - Happy Place Collection - Die-cut Phrases, and Heidi Swapp - September Skies Attachment Kit.

Me at 36 with Melinda

Hi there ScrappingClearly fans, Melinda here with you today sharing this page I put together using the gorgeous Pink Paislee C'est La Vie collection and a silly SnapChat photo of myself from my birthday this year!

Isn't this collection just beautiful?!

I started with a stencil from my stash, some white cardstock and some Faber-Castell Whipped Spackle for some interest in the background and then grabbed my sushine colour shimmer spray by Colour Blast and also my bubblegum colour spray and sprinkled those across the page in a diagonal from top left to bottom right.

You can see here I have layered a couple of the frames from the ephemera pack behind the photo along with one of those cute tabs from the same pack which I used my machine to a little stitching through. A doily from my stash and I fussy cut some of those gorgeous flowers from this paper from the collection. Oh, and those GORGEOUS mirror acrylic pieces which I have used in 3 places also along the diagonal.

For the title I used the word hello from the mirror acrylic pieces and also the big acetate 3 and 6 from the ephemera pack. Love how this looks and that you can see the little details through the 36!

And my little cluster on the bottom right :) I used some of the off-cuts from pushing the frame out of the paper it was in and a little tag (the mint and gold) as layering pieces from the ephemera pack under the tab. More fussy cut flowers and the 3rd mirror acrylic piece. Some more machine stitching, again with just a white thread.

When this was all assembled I cut down 2 sides and stuck this beautiful to the top and left hand side of the page for a little more interest, colour and texture. I then machine sewed around the 2 edges and distressed the card stock a little.

I am really happy with how this page came together and can't wait to get the chance to play some more with this beautiful collection!

Hello lovely people, Hope you are enjoying a lazy Saturday morning, and maybe a sleep in if you were up late last night working on the challenges for our PINK, Girls Night In???? 

I'm here with you today, to share my take on this month's fabulous sketch, by our very own, Chloe!!! (Love her sketches!!!) Check it out:

I was actually inspired by the colours in this sketch initially, and then once I'd chosen my patterned papers, the rest fell into place. I'm using PINK PAISLEE, CEST LA VIE, range this month, there are some gorgeous patterns in these papers. I chose this pattern no. 11, as my background page, then added some Distress Inks to highlight the colours of the paper in the middle! I added some white circles with some Distress Stain and then did some stamping in Watering Can Archival Ink, which is a grey colour.

Before adding my photo and paper layers, I needed something to anchor the stack, the Heidi Swapp Washi stickers, (from the Memory Planner range), were perfect and I cut some of them in half lengthways to layer them up. The other papers I used for layering behind my photo were: 

Paper 03, Paper 05 and Paper 12.

To imitate the Circle swirls behind the photo in the sketch, I used a 2 Crafty Chipboard piece, from my stash, coated with Gesso and then Some white, acrylic Paint.

How about these gorgeous Acrylic Numbers from the Pink Paislee, Cest La Vie, Ephemera pack!

My title, TINY DANCER, are alphabet Thickers by Amy Tangerine, the little hashtag is from a pack of Heidi Swapp, alphabet stickers.

I love this cute little bow from Maggie Holmes, Crate Paper, Flea Market Bows!!!!

There's a sprinkling of some other little embellishments there, some gold star sequins that just seem to float around in my stash, I really don't know where they came from!!! Some cute little gold hearts from the Heidi Swapp, Memory Planner range... & some more washi stickers from Maggie Holmes.

For my journaling at the bottom of the page, I actually ruled some lines, I wanted it to look neat. I am a bit anal about neat journaling, and don't always use my handwriting on a page for that reason.
