October Moodboard Challenge - With Karyn Schultz!

Hi Scrapping Clearly Lovelies,

It's Karyn here,

Today I have an art journal page to share with you made using lots of goodies available in the Scrapping Clearly Store.

I'm also playing along with the October Moodboard Challenge. We would love for you to join the challenge and be in the running to win a Scrapping Clearly voucher - you have until October 31 and you enter by uploading your photo to the album in the facebook group here.

I'm using a Small Dylusions journal. I love this sized journal - the page size is more manageable for me!

I've started by applying distress oxides (twisted citron, lucky clover, peeled paint) to the background pages in my journal, some white cardstock and manilla tags using the painting with plastic technique.

Then I added some stamping using some background stamps and a black ink pad. I used the Dina Wakley circle patterns stamp set to stamp on the white cardstock then I cut out the circles to use on my pages.  Next I added some stencilling in my art journal using the KaiserCraft foliage stencil and Colour Blast colour paste - apple of my eye .

I added clusters of the tags, and stamped circles to my page along with cotton thread, black German Scraps embellishments and some Tim Holtz small talk - snarky stickers. I also added some sparkly silver glitter paste in places. Lastly I splattered some black paint from Prima Watercolor confections - the Classics.

October Moodboard Inspiration - With Karyn!

Hi Scrapping Clearly Lovelies!!!

It's Karyn here and today I'm showing you Week 14 for my "Schultz Family 2016" Project Life Album. I've mainly used the Crate Paper Maggie Holmes Gather collection which is available at Scrapping Clearly
This project is also my inspiration for the October Moodboard challenge over on the Scrapping Clearly Blog. There are some awesome prizes to be won and you have all month to enter either via the Scrapping Clearly facebook group (here).

Here is the moodboard - so inspiring!!
I thought I would share a bit of a step by step on how I create my Project Life pages.

Firstly I print out my photos for the week and I organise them across my double page layout. I like to print all my photos with a white border. I also print a digital weekly card onto a white card.

Next I select the papers and embellishments i would like to use. I've chosen the Crate Paper Maggie Holmes Gather collection. I've also printed out a digital card that I sourced on the internet with the quote from the moodboard.

Using these materials and some white PL cards I fill the other pocket spaces on my pages. I cut elements and strips from the papers. I stick this down then I concentrate on individual cards to complete.

Here is my completed 2 page layout.
Here is a close up of the LHS. The photos are of Jessica's school sports day.
I've kept my card elements simple and stylish to show off the gorgeous papers and embellishments and also to keep the PL process achievable. I love this photo of Poppa pretending to steal Jessica's sausage in bread at the sports day !!
On some of the cards I've used Ranger enamel accents. This product is perfect for creating your own enamel dots of any size. I've used the yellow and light pink on these pages.
Here is a close up of the RHS. These photos are of purchasing our new car earlier this year.
A few strips of paper, a chipboard sticker and some enamel accents are a perfect complement to the page - and handwritten journalling of course!
There are so many chipboard accents and embellishments that are part of the "Gather" collection abd all coordinate perfectly together. I've also cut a polaroid from one of the sheets of paper.

Scrapping Clearly products I've used include

Crate Paper Maggie Holmes Gather collection
Heidi Swapp memory planner date stamp
Studio Calico wood veneer hearts and arrows

Becky Higgins project life pocket pages design A
Becky Higgins - white project life cards
Ranger enamel accents
