Scrapping with Diecut Ephemera.

Leonie with you sharing todays scrappy inspiration. 

I love using Diecut ephemera packs on my pages. 

I kinda designed this whole page around a packet of Ephemera. 

As well as being great value, you can add lots of little details to your page. Being part of a collection you know that they will all coordinate with each other and tie everything together. 

I used ephemera diecuts from Cocoa Vanilla Studios Hello Sunshine collection.

I've used my favourite colours in the Distress range 'Broken China' and 'Peacock Feathers' distress oxide to create this background on white card stock. 

I then added some stamping with 49th and Market square stitched stamp set and Dina Wakley Collage background papers.  I used Dina Wakley Gel Medium to adhere the collage papers.

Inspired by the December Mood Board - Christmas Cards with DT Katie Howard

Well we are in the thick of December now, how is everyone's shopping going? Me, well I have done some, but my holidays start half way through next week so I have a little time up my sleeve to finish things off!

Today I thought I would share some simple Christmas cards inspired by the December Mood Board and cards on Pinterest (who doesn't love wasting time here?!).

So here is the Mood Board:

I was inspired by the natural and neutral aspects in the pictures, the trees and the wreaths and also the darker greens and this is what I came up with:

I started with a cream base card and added a background using Maggie Holmes Gather paper in Kindred, which was perfect with it's leather look and stitching. I love that it looks like I stitched on the page! I used some more of the Gather collection in Magical, So Sweet and Beautiful to cut tall triangles to make some trees. This card is perfect for using up your scraps! I added some faux stitching through the trees using a black paint pen and topped them with stars from Heidi Swapp's glitter puffy sticker alpha set (I love when they have more than just alphas!) and a chipboard star from the Crate Paper Good Vibes collection. I finished with a Christmas stamp sentiment from an old stamp set I have and there you go one quick card.

This second card is inspired by the wreaths and in keeping with the darker greens and neutral colours. This is also a great card to use up left over scraps. I started by punching out some circles in 0.5 inch and 0.75 inch sizes from the following papers from the Maggie Holmes Chasing Dreams collection: Be Happy, Garden Club, Gold Glitter acetate and Lovely and also My Story from the Gather collection (this one is a gorgeous light wood patterned paper). Once I had an assortment of circles in patterns and sizes I drew a rough circle outline and then began layering and filling in the circle. Once I had the punched circles down, I added some sequins from the Pink Paislee Birthday Bash pack which included the gold stars as well, but pick whichever sequins suit your colour scheme! The I added a puffy sticker bow from the Chasing Dreams collection and stamped a Christmas message, and a second card is born!

Handmade Christmas Cards

Hi everyone! 

I have here some simple handmade cards from the Pink Fresh Studio 'Oh Joy' range. 

This range is perfect for these four cards, as the colours are fresh, with simple designs.

For this first card, I used the following papers: Winter Wonderland, Under The Tree, Advent Love.

To decorate the card, I used a red 'Tis The Season Bitty Bow, Cocoa Vanilla sequins, and Cocoa Vanilla Totally Rad Little Stars - all from the store.

 

With this shaker card I used Jingle Bells and Joyful Christmas papers from the Pink Fresh Studio collection. 

The buttons and snowflake were from my stash. For the sentiment, I used ephemera from the Fancy Pants 'Merry and Bright' collection. 

Here I used Joyful Christmas, Jingle Bells, Winter Wonderland - all from the 'Oh Joy' collection. 

From the store, I have used sequins from the Cocoa Vanilla 'Tis The Season Range. Across the top of the card, I have used Teresa Collins 'Tinsel and Company' decorative tape.

On this final card, I have used Jingle Bells, Advent Love, and I cut the stacked presents from 'Under The Tree' paper. 

To embellish this simple card, I have used Heidi Swapp - Marquee Love Collection - in black, Cocoa Vanilla 'Tis The Season sequins and ephemera from Fancy Pants 'Merry and Bright' collection.

Welcome to Thursday SC friends.

Emma here with you today, sharing a page and a video inspired by this months moodboard.

And here is the moodboard it was inspired by.....

I created a video for this layout as well, something that I haven't  

done for a little while, and I hope you enjoy it.

This page has some awesome products on it. For my background work I started by giving my paper a coat of Clear Gesso to act as a barrier. 

I really loved the idea of playing with gold from this moodboard so I mixed some Art Alchemy in Ancient Coin with a modelling paste.

Once that was spread through a stencil I then added some colour onto the base using 2 Distress Oxides first in Antique Linen and then a darker shade over the top in Frayed Burlap.

I wanted more gold, so I then dabbed some emboss ink through a star stencil to grab that star theme from the moodboard, and applied gold emboss powder, this gave a little more sparkle.

Once this was dry I started using some very cool stamps first one from the Old town range of  the Finnabair Cling stamps, and then layered over that with a Lavinia Stamp in the Orbs, I just love this one. I also used a script stamp over them.

Once the image was layered with some tags, I chose a few pieces from one of Heidi Swapps Ephemera packs that suited my design.

The stars are quite a bold idea on the moodboard so I decided to capture this theme more by using the metal stars from Finnabair Mechanicals.

In the centre of each of the stars I added Art pebbles in vintage.

Finally I added some quotes from Tim Holtz small talk and a splash of Liquitex ink in titanium white.

The over all feel of this page is quite peaceful and I feel I captured the moodboard.

Half a piece of paper & a cute mini

Welcome to December my friends . Last night I embarked on this little project. The paper is super cool and I have kept the right side for another project in my art journal as it had the cool faces printed on it. I have filled so many boxes with half sheets of paper - you know the one - the 'someday' box. I find that half a page is the perfect size for a cute little cut and fold mini - and it gets used up straight away. It was a nice quick little project in under a couple of hours. 

The Paper Arts - Whimsical 3 paper was super fun to use and is a really good thickness for pages in a mini book. The print on the paper is also fabulous as there is minimal prep to your page. I'm loving the arty feel and look of this paper. 

 After scoring the pages and cutting the album I then folded the pages and glued the backs together. The pages are 5cm x 5cm.  I have used Muslin to bind the outer cover, which holds the album together nicely.

I used Express it glue to adhere the muslin to the page and then used spray inks to color the muslin. A quick dry with the heat gun also helps keep this project flowing quickly.

I then added some fun bits inside the album - I decided to make it a little quote/inspiration type album. I used a range of stamps including the Inkadinkado stamping gear - branches and for those that went to the recent classes with DeeDee at Scrapping Clearly I have included a few of my favourite Viva Las Vegas Stamps.I have used some old rub-ons from my stash, some small word stickers and all pages have been bordered with my Artline black pen. 

Loving the floral stamp in the Inkadinkado range on the left of this page plus the Viva las Vegas quote stamp. As well I have added some of the silver Heidi Swapp Fresh Start washi tape.

More Heidi Swapp washi and some Heidi swapp stickers as well as the added stamps. 

 

Finally I stamped with black ink  on the front and added my title. 

So next time you have a left over half of paper why not consider making yourself a quick little mini.

Tis the season

Hi Peeps,

I have a christmas inspire layout today for you. Using a 12x12 piece of chipboard for the background.

First I took a Tim holtz xmas stencil and texture paste and added that to the background.

I sealed my photo with matt gel medium, to protect from the paint technique, then taped it to the background.

I then glued down a selection of accents metal, chipboard and resin.

Once the glue is dry I then covered the piece all over, except the photo of cause, with white gesso.

I got out my prima alchemy acrylic paints and some Lindy's spray

and added layers to the background using a dry brush technique with the prima paints. Started with the darker colours and added the lighter ones last.

December Moodboard Inspiration by Leonie

The festive season is upon us and that means a gorgeous December moodboard to create with, 

this one is filled with neutral earthy tones and textures, plus some luscious gold stars.

I've stuck with a clean and simple design for my take on this moodboard.

Using papers from Cocoa Vanilla Studios newest collection Midnight.

I chose a woodgrain patterned paper to replicate the woodgrain in the centre image.

Of course I had to add some gold stars like the moodboard.  

I used the Kaisercraft 12x12 Stars Stencil. My favourite star stencil for its different size stars plus some solid and some outline stars.

I first stencils some stars with Dina Wakley Gilt Acrylic Paint.  This is a really nice gold colour paint. The colour of gold paint can vary so much but Gilt by Dina Waklley Media is a nice pale gold colour.

I then stencilled the stars a second time with Bo Bunny gold Glitter Paste.
