Marquee Love - With Karyn Schultz!

Hi Scrapping Clearly Lovelies!!

It's Karyn here, and today I have an off the page project to share with you made using some Heidi Swapp goodies available in the Scrapping Clearly Store. 

This is quite a simple project that I did this morning with my daughter Jessica. I've used a Heidi Swapp Marquee love letter J and a sheet of Heidi Swapp Honey & Spice Kindred patterned paper. I also had a selection of Heidi Swapp Magnolia Jane washi but decided not to use them in the end. 

I used the letter template in the Marquee Love pack to cut a "J" in the patterned paper and then punched out holes for the lights. This part was a bit tricky as I didnt have a large enough hole punch and you need to get them right so that the bulb caps fit in place.

Then Jessica assembled the light according to the instructions and viola - a pretty light for her bedside table. 

We have had this Marquee light sitting in the craft stash for some time and I'm so glad we have used it. It will be easy to add a different patterned paper in the future or to decorate the edges with washi. I hope you are inspired to do some of your unfinished projects these holidays!

Simple HeART Therapy

Salutations Bloggers and Scrapping Clearly Devotees,

Lisa here with a heartfelt mixed media update,

Its been a massive week for me,a week where,

I poured my Heart and Soul into my Task,

with personally rewarding positive results.

So today, I finally had a few hours to create and unwind.

Back into my Dina Wakley Mixed Media Art Journal for some art therapy.

 HeART Therapy ,no less.

 For this creative piece , I started with this pack of AC Heidi Swapp Marquee Love pattern papers and cut myself 5 hearts different in various sizes and edged the sides in black Staz On ink.

I painted one of the canvas pages with Dylusions acrylic paint in

  Cherry Pie and Crushed Grape and placed the hearts on the page.

 After evaluation I decided to take the paint across the page and place the hearts in the middle..

 A simple Heidi Swapp Word stencil and some super fab, non stick, NOUVO shimmery textured mousse gave the mixed page background more detail and support to the main theme.

 And it sparkles .

 I always have wings,shapes, hearts , butterflies etc ,cut out and waiting for different projects , so out comes a large set of wings made on Marshmallow Cardstock with a dylusion ink background, 

a CWS wings stencil and Prima Black sand texture paste .

A central butterfly from Jollygirl to finish and add punch to the focal point.

Marquee LOVE! - by Chloe

Opening my DT kit this time was super exciting ... there was a Marquee Love Letter!!  Mine is the "N" ....

Marquee Love Kits Include:

1 DIY 8″ Tall Marquee Letter or Iconic Shape

1 LED Light Strand with on/off Battery Switch (2 AAA batteries not included)

Clear Bulb Caps (qty varies per letter or shape)

1 Tracing Template

I wondered for a while how to decorate this lovely piece .. and make it as beautiful as it deserves ... should I paint it?  Glitter it? Washi tape it?

Finally, I decided to use a piece of the gorgeous Maggie Holmes Bloom collection ... and utilise the tracing template to cut out a pretty background.

So simple!  The best thing about it is ,I can easily change the background.  Putting the bulb caps in was super easy too - then it was just a case of slipping the little lights in the back and flip the switch!

I thought it needed a little more, so I wound some flowers around some of the bulbs ... I think it looks very pretty and girly!

Fun with Marquee Love by Tania

Happy Saturday everyone, hope the weekend is full of fun, love and laughter for you all! 

I just had me some fun, playing with the Marquee Love letter kit which was in my DT kit this month. I have to admit to having to think about this one for awhile, but after surfing Pinterest, and gaining some inspiration, my Letter 'B' was transformed!

Here's a shot of my desk, which shows you some of the products I used to decorate my light!

I used some Heidi Swapp Colorshine in Mint, Georgia Peach and Pink. The yellow was Dylusions ink. You can see my colour swatches where I tested a few different colours first. I was trying to match up the colour's of my daughter's bed covers in her room, as this is a pretty little gift for her!

The gorgeous Prima flowers are from my new DT kit and I've just pinned them on the letter with some Heidi Swapp lace ribbon and an American Crafts, clothespin. (That way, she can take them off if she doesn't like the flowers!) 

I also wanted to use the Marquee Love tape to decorate the edges, which I used in Gold. It was a little bit tricky putting the tape in the middle of the  letter, but thankfully, the tape is forgiving and I was able to peel it back up a few times and re-do!

Overall, this was a really quick and simple project!! They make great gifts and you can personalise them in many ways!! Possibilities are endless, just requires a little imagination and some inspiration!!!

New Year's Eve Selfies! A layout by Tania Ballestrin

Hello lovely Scrapping Clearly followers! Today I have a layout for you inspired by this month's very gorgeous moodboard!!!!


This month I am playing with Maggie Holme's 'Bloom' Range from Crate Paper! How lucky am I!!! I started with a white cardstock background and was inspired to give the paint swipes a go. This is so easily achieved by using the Ranger paint dabbers. The paint dabber splatters, I made to mimmick the soft pink balloons in the image.
I wanted to make this layout a bit blingy, going by the gold inspiration in the image, so I added some Heidi Swapp Marquee Love tape in between the paint swipes.

I added more gold bling with the Gold foil thickers, (there's loads of extra dots in there too which you can embellish with!!!), and broke up my title with a few other alphas from my stash. I layered up my photomat, using the BLOOM papers: SWEET ROSE & MOMENTS and the HEIDI SWAPP papers from the HELLO GORGEOUS range. The butterfly embellishments were cut from the BLOOM, FLUTTER paper. (Love this, you will be seeing more of these little butterflies!!!)

I am also in love with the WASHI PAPER stickers from the BLOOM collection. The little black love heart was attatched to some cardstock to make a 3D embellishment, and I used a washi strip under the photo mat.
The little rubber shapes in the BLOOM collection are so cute, and quite chunky, so no need for mounting tape!

If you can read my journaling , you will note that I made a boo boo on this layout!!! I could have changed the photos or I could've changed the title, but then I would've wrecked a perfectly good layout, so I decided not to stress about it and have a bit of fun. I have written more journaling on the back which actually tells a bit more of a story! Scrapbooking is not meant to be stressful after all!!!

Marquee Love

Morning everyone, Michelle here, I have a beautiful Marquee Love Ampersand light in my creative area that adds to the ambiance of my room. How good are these totally customised letters from Heidi Swapp. 

I have often admired these cool letters in trendy store fronts and classy parties but thought I couldn't create that look for my room. Now I can have exactly what colours I want and it can be changed at anytime I like with total freedom. This may not stop at one I have plans to add more and use them in other rooms in my house, because why not!

                                                      

They are so easy to put together with the well thought out diagram and instructions included in the box. The options are endless and there are so many lovely washi tapes, glitters and paper pads in the Scrapping Clearly store to create with. Please take a look they are gorgeous and can also be used for other projects. 

I spray painted the entire ampersand with my favourite Gold paint and it took really well. I then added the gold glitter tape around the outside edges in one long strip starting underneath. With the tight inside corners I used a wooden skewer to smooth the tape into the corners that were hard to reach with your fingers.

The photos didn't do the glitter tape justice because it looks so pretty and sparkly in real life. I am so happy with how it turned out and how easy it was to make it my own. It looks classy and elegant with not much effort. Love it!
