Live Colorfully - by Lauren Hender

Even with crazy photos like this one I love to scrapbook and delight in them. This crazy kid of mine lost her first tooth this year. This was a big deal as all her friends had already lost multiple teeth. This fun photo highlighting that adorable little gap in her mouth makes me smile. 

In this layout I have used the super cute Dear Lizzy Happy Place range. This range has it all, from titles to papers to the cutest selection of brads. 

I began by cutting out Polaroid pieces on one of the patterned papers and layering them under the photo and on a couple of lace doilies.

I then added the brads, title, flair and enamel dots. Lastly I used some water color paints to add some flecks, journaling and black pen accent around the photo. 

I hope you love my layout and it has inspired you to grab this fabulous Dear Lizzy range from the Scrapping Clearly store.

He's a Doer!

 Howdy SC folks!
Peg here today to share a striking masculine page. Bold colours on black are always eye-catching, right?

So to start with I spread a few patches of gesso on my black card, then added some red acrylic paint for a bit of colour. I cut zig zag strips from the fabulous Hambly overlay and added it along the top and bottom edges, attaching it with my Tim Holtz tiny attacher

I used (again! on the 7th page, from the first and only pack I've got!) Bella Rouge plastic alphas and hashtag for my big title, and Dymo for the journalling.

It's blokey and grungey and perfect for my man.

Winter Mood Board

Hi All Kim here today sharing with you the awesome July moodboard, I just love the warmth of the colours in this moodboard.
I have chosen to create a Tag from the colours and warmth of the board

I have drawn the greyness of the winter and the brown of the colour of the images

 I love the silver Heidi Swapp mist I have used to colour the flowers so they appear frosted

I have also used the silver mist to create the colour on the chipboard 

You can see the silver of the mist on the chipboard bird her and the winter feel of the colours

My take on Chloe's fabulous sketch... by Tania

Hi everyone, hope you are all having a lovely Saturday morning! Today I'm sharing my take on the fab sketch that our very own DT member, Chloe, created. 

I love sketches, and this one was just too cute. I have stuck to the sketch pretty much with not too many bells and whistles, just a little embellishing and voila! 

I started with a watercolour background made with Gelatos. Then cut up some of the cute Crate Paper- 'Afternoon', from the gorgeous Maggie Holmes, BLOOM collection. I love having the sketch as a guide for this paper pieced background. I gave my layout a border at top and bottom with the Dear Lizzy TUTTI FRUTTI paper. (If you wet the edge of the paper, it is alot easier to curl!) For my paper layers, I then used a mix of the Maggie Holmes BLOOM and the Dear Lizzy, HAPPY PLACE collection.  I needed a bit of something purple to match the facepaint on my daughter in the photo, so I had a watercolour paper piece in my scraps I had made with a few Dylusions spray colours. It was perfect for just a couple of pops of purple. You can see it just under my Chippy title! (Which I have had in my stash for soooo long BTW. I painted this with some Dylusions & other acrylic paints in a few different colours to get the right shade.)

To embellish my layout, I fussy cut some more of those cute butterflies from the Maggie Holmes, FLUTTER paper, and used some of the little rubber shapes. (I'm quite a fan of these!) There's a Prima word sticker on there, (these are great, as in the pack you get alpha stickers and word stickers!) Finally, I love adding enamel dots to my pages for that final pop. These were from my stash but you can find some in the Scrappingclearly shop here:

Howdy Folks,Lisa Here with a Friday mixed media blog update .

I am on a countdown to a few weeks holidays(internal yay) and

 2 up coming retreats in Melbourne and Tamworth.Woooohooo

Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr,winter in both these venues will be a little shock to my system ,

but as long as I have creative flow(and warm clothes),I will be a happy camper .

This week I've been just doodling in my journal after creating another large dreamcatcher canvas. .

Sometimes its nice to flow and grow your style by repeating themes, adding details and trying new ideas . Remember you journal is a practice place to play and learn.

I've been playing with the new Prima Watercolour Blocks, and they are super lush to work with .

I also used my caran d'ache neocolor ii set of crayons, but one could also use gelatos , in combination with Liquitex Gesso (thats Ges-so,-pronounced JES-so, NOT Guesso people )

 to help , lighten and whiten highlight areas.

After my pages were dry, I busted out the Posca Paint Pens , my rad fude ball ,

(the best free flowing permanent ink journal pen on the market) and some Prima watercolour pencils  , to add detail and definition to her face .

 And then finish off with a quote that I've found on the day of creation. 

This Quote, I found on a FB site called Inner Soul Journey. Asha gives a wonderful daily horoscope reading that is always informative and a great start to my day with positive words .
