What a Day - With Karyn Schultz!

Hi Scrapping Clearly Lovelies!!

It's Karyn here, and today I have a scrapbook page to share with you made using lots of goodies from the Shimelle Box of Crayons collection available in the Scrapping Clearly Store.

 

For my base I've used a sheet of white cardstock cut down to 11"x11". I added some background colour using Prima Watercolor Confections and a painting with plastic technique underneath in the area my photo and in the bottom right corner.

I then matted this cardstock on to a sheet of Shimelle "outpouring" 12x12 paper. From the Shimelle "Make Something" paper I fussy cut lots of elements to include on my page (cat faces, paint brush, lolly pops, and easel. I cut the "what a day" title from the Shimelle "In the frame" paper. 

  

I backed 2 mandala diecuts (from my stash) with the yellow side of Shimelle "A new thought" paper then fussy cut around the edges. I attached this underneath my photo along with 2 mats of the green side of Shimelle "A new thought" paper and the pink side of  Shimelle "Thats the spirit" paper. 

I hope this inspires you to add some fussy cut elements to your page. It is a great way to use up paper rather than ephemera!

Bright and colourful handmade cards

Hi Everyone!

I am here with a share today with some bright, colourful and fun handmade cards. It warms the heart and brightens anyone's day when they receive a handmade card.

I have created these four cards with the fun Fancy Pants Designs - Joy Parade Collection - 12 x 12 Collection Kits from the store. This is one awesome kit that consists of patterned papers, a foam glitter alpha sticker sheet and one puffy stickers sheet set. I also used American Crafts Thickers. 

For each of these cards, I used various goodies form the kit and I also hand-punched, diecut some shapes, using the bright patterned papers from the kit. The paper doily and the stamped sentiment are from my stash. 

After putting together these simple and easy cards, I had a lot left over from this kit collection, which will allow me ample to make more cards or another form of paper craft project that might take my fancy in the future.

It was making these cards and the bonus is that I now have a few more cards ready for that special occasion - kits are available in store here!

Shine

Hi everyone.   

I'm super excited to have been invited to join this very talented DT.   So here is my 1st LO inspired by this month's gorgeous mood board.

I started with some old My Minds Eye patterned paper.   I masked off a portion of a Dina Wakley Jungle stencil with some washi tape and scrapped some modelling paste through with a palette knife.   I then cleaned the stencil, flipped it over and repeated the process.   This is a great way of making more use of your stencils.

I did some random stamping using a 49 & Market stamp with some Fossilized Amber Distress ink and some navy water based ink.   I sprinkled on some Colour Blast shimmer dust in navy and gave it a light spritz with water.

I grabbed a few wood veneer leaves from my stash and rubbed them (using my finger) with Indian gold Nuvo embellishment mousse.   I then added a touch of Viva Inka Gold in Haematite on the leaves and on the modelling paste so it would stand out.

I sprayed some cheese cloth with some Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist and then stuck it all down with a little bit of gold thread thrown in for good measure.

I finished by adding my title, a gorgeous Heidi Swapp acetate word and a scattering of Finnabair Art Ingredients Mica Flakes stuck on using gel medium.

Magazine Inspiration

I was flicking through a magazine I had set aside for collaging into my art journals

and came across this photo of an art work, which inspired me to replicate it....kind of. LOL.

I used the 8.5 in x 5.5 in art journal for this one.

Dina Paints for the background.

Gel Medium to glue down magazine image.

Texture Paste Opaque Matte for the clouds.

(or light and fluffy does the same)

I borrowed the tree stencil so not sure of the brand.

(KinderKreation has an excellent one)

The random letters and horizon trees are done with a black Fude ball pen.

I dirtied up the edges with a bit of black ink to finish off.

Take inspiration where ever you can find it.

Be prepared to be spoilt with a SALE

Welcome back to another creative Saturday -- A quick reminder to you all about the awesome sale tomorrow over at Scrapping Clearly- there is a whopping 30% off for Mothers Day -  it is a great time to stock up with such a great sale. 

I am still finding a lot of amazing inspiration from the new May Moodboard - I hope my sample can get you kick started to create your little bit of amazing over the weekend.

I started the layout on a base of white cardstock and added a Teresa Collins Something Wonderful file folder and to this I added some stamping with a Darkroom Door stamp and a Viva Las Vegas stamp. 

From this point the layers evolved very quickly.... Heidi Swapp cardstock in Emerson Lane Details was added and to that I added AALL Create stencil with Prima Art Alchemy Paint - bright sparks 

I then added a lot of loose ephemera from my stash as well as some Kinder Kreations Happy day veneer, Freckled Fawn wood chip numbers, stickers & AC badge. 

To finish off the layout I have sewn a black border around the whole page. I hope you can find a little inspiration from my layout and find yourself creating up your own amazing memories this weekend.

More Art Journalling - With Karyn Schultz!

Hi Scrapping Clearly Lovelies!!

It's Karyn here, and today I have an art journal page to share with you made using lots of goodies available in the Scrapping Clearly Store.

I've used my Dina Wakely 8x10 media art journal and this page is a calico fabric. It is different to use than I normally prefer but fun to try something different.

I've started by applying some watercolour pan paints to the page using a large flat paint brush. I also added splatters of each of these colours. Then I did some stencilling with a sponge and Dina Wakley paints (ocean, lime, and lemon). 

Next I added an Art By Marlene Mandala stamp and washi and strips of painted book paper that I had on my desk. I also added some strips of hessian cut from from one of the pages in the DWM journal and some hand cut book paper hearts.

Lastly I added some Tim Holtz small talk stickers, and I drew around the edge of the page with a Fude Ball pen.
