Great things take time - with Emma Zappone

Hello crafters!!!
Hope you are having an awesome Sunday.
Today we are going bright and simple, featuring a fantastic AALL & CREATE stamp and stencil.

I started with the the Elegance Aall & create stencil, and using a blending tool added colour. For the colour palette I used Distress Oxides in Peacock Feathers, Abandoned Coral & Wild Honey. Once happy with the colour blending I wanted to 'fade' out the edges a little, so I did this by spraying a hit of water to a couple of spots and moved them around to create a water colour effect. I then doodled around the edges of some of the pattern to add some visual dimension.

Then came the winged stamp from the Take Flight set. I set this stamp up on my stamp press and started with black ink. Next I added layers of colours while still on the press. The colours are the same as the what was used through the stencil. This technique is super easy but super effective.

I added very minimal layers apart from a few Scrap FX bold blooms and chipboard. 

The awesome chevron stamp is part of the same Take Flight stamp set. This set is so full of inspiring pieces. Finally my title is from the Tim Holtz Small talk menu stickers. 

A few flicks of the distress oxides to tie it all together and this layout is complete.

Carpool Karaoke

 Welcome to another week of creative fun with this months moodboard.

I decided to dust off the Gelli plate and have a play last night – like card making I just don’t do it enough to be good or confident with it but so glad I have had a go at it.

Having a Gelli plate is a handy item to have to give you a range of effects and Kylie has a selection in the store if you are interested in buying one. 

To the Gelli plate I added some white gesso first and rolled it out with a brayer - and pulled a print on some A4 copy paper. I added the AALL & Create stencil and Dylusions London blue with the brayer – I  pulled my first print on my cardstock. While this was drying I used a little more gesso onto the stencil and pulled the second print – this became the base for the layout.

 

I have used three little photos about the size of a passport photo for this layout & split their placement. Before adhering them to the page I drew a rectangle which I have stitched in black and added an AALLS pencil border to this. I have used a little magenta paint mixed with water to create a few splatters on the page near the photos. I have stamped some circles from the Darkroom Door stamp  Arty Circles  onto some tissue paper before adhering it onto the page with Liquitex Matte Gel. A Kaisercraft spot stamp was also added for a little more black near the photos and help frame the whole placement.

 

  Foam tape was added to the back of the photos to help them pop & add dimension to the page. I have then taken some paper embellishments from the Vicki Boutin ranges to help add interest and layer the photos. The tab at the side of the photo was from Flutterbys and some AALL & Create washi was also added for a little more interest. I have also cut a chipboard frame in half and added it under the top and bottom photos. Tim Holtz big words stickers were also added as journalling.

  

 

I have used some red butterflies to help draw the eye to the center of the page & added cotton under the photos to give a more textural element to the page. The title was created using some Jenni Bowlin stickers that I had in my stash.

   

I have bordered the whole layout by drawing a black penline with a Fudeball marker.

 Hi Scrapping Clearly Lovelies!

It's Karyn here and today I have a scrapbook page that I created using lots of fun products available at Scrapping Clearly!  

 

 

This page was inspired by a challenge at a recent "Create All Day" event held by Natalie May Scrapbooking in Adelaide. The challenge was to be inspired by the event logo. 

 

To create a background I used a sheet of heavy weight white cardstock, and I painted Prima watercolour confections across the page in the colours of the event logo. When this had dried I also added splatters of each colour. 

 

 Here is my completed page.

 

 I used the Cocoa Vanilla Studio Daydream collection 6x8 papers on the page. I fussy cut the rainbows and butterflies from 2 of the pages, I matted my photo on a paper doilie and some of the papers and I cut a house element from another page. I added a title using Glitter Foam word stickers. And I used a roller date stamp to add some random word stamping. Lastly I used a Fude Ball pen to draw around the edge of the layout.

Hi all,

And happy Wednesday! I love being the mum to daughters - especially when they dress up for a photo shoot. Gorgeous Abby in bright clothes that made it perfect for this months mood board!

I went a little brighter than the mood board (with the pink)- how could I not? I also pulled in circle designs to mimic the plates in the mood board.

Key Scrapping Clearly products:

*Prima Art pebbles

I drew some circles on white cardstock and painted them, then used the signature Lisa Oxley technique: "wipe back some colour through a stencil with a baby wipe". This accounts for the embossed floral images you can see in the pink.

I hand cut the circles, and with left over pieces, I used a circle punch to punch out more painted circles.

I layered the circles, painted some extra blue and the machine stitched (in black) around it all.

With the background done, I then layered the photo with other stickers, flowers and embellishments.

And of course, I added paint splatters!

The puffy Amy Tangerine hearts and sparkly Prima art pebbles were also easy finishing touches.

Howdy Scrapping Clearly Blog Lovers, Lisa here with a Sunday Mixed Media update.

Today I am sharing a few pieces from a  Junk Journal that once upon a time, I shared with my girl Peg.

Peg had made these 2 journals for us to pass back and forth between ourselves, and over time , they have both landed in my space.

When I am not creating for the #100dayproject,

 I really like to just play and experiment with whats on the table, or takes my fancy, and these little books of inspirational joy assist the flow.

Colourful Souls by Tracey Thorne

 Hello back to the blog and my weekend share. I hope you have all been creating your own pieces of joy. I have created a minimalist layout this week with a lot of white space. I was decluttering my mind after a hectic week and felt I just needed to wind back and release and start fresh. Fresh to me is white space, unbusy and simple. I  hope you enjoy what I have created.

Once again I have taken the prompts from the moodboard - it is a cracker!

White space needs white cardstock- an absolute fave of mine to create on. I made up a little of the Lindys flat magicals - Stormy Sky and with a wet brush flicked splatters from one corner to the other.

Another of my favourite must do's is to sew on  my creations. I worked placement of my photo and then drew a line around it so that I could sew. I have used a combo of straight and zig zag stitch.

Dylusions Creative Dyary Washi was added to the bottom and top on opposites sides. I do not use washi enough so watch this space for more washi usage on my projects.

I have sewn a black border around the inside of the photo and added a few stamped circles using the Dylusions Stamp- Creative Dyary. I have water coloured them in.

 

I have added some of the Tim Holtz Idealogoy - Big Chat stickers  and the title was created using American Crafts Thickers & Pink Paislee fashion script. I have used Cocoa Vanilla Enamel Dots -Unforgettable and cut some butterflies from my own stash. I have also used ephemera from Vicki Boutin Ephemera - paper pen.

This is the finished layout - a nice clean and clear declutter of my headspace was well worth the effort.
