Welcome back to the Scrapping Clearly blog.

Today I am sharing a bright and happy layout using the Crate Paper CUTE GIRL collection.

I just love this photo of my little girl. She is now 7 years old and those chubby cheeks have disappeared so every now and then I enjoy scrapping a photo of her when she was just a bub.

At this point you are probably thinking.. 'come on Lauren get on with the sale details'

I began this layout by playing with a little watercolour on some bazzill marshmellow cardstock. The watercolour paints I prefer to use are the Prima Marketing pallets. They are beautiful and the colours are strong.

I then added some texture paste using a small heart stencil. This just added a little different texture to the layout.

I then added my layers behind my photo using different pieces of cardstock and some embellishments including the cutest HELLO title. How cute are those tassels!!

Mixed Meida canvas with Tania

Hi everyone. I'm back again to share a Design Team post with you, with a little mixed media canvas. My inspiration came from this month's moodboard: 

I started with lots of painty layers, using Vicki Boutin acrylic paints and a stencil from Heidi Swapp.

I felt there was too much black in the background, so painted over half of it again with some of the white paint.

Then I got stuck into some stamping, with some stamps I had in my stash!!

I have lots of little left over bits from previous DT kits.. The cork pieces, chipboard sticker, brads and patterned paper bits are from Teresa Collins, Life Emporium range.

My stamped  butterflies, are coloured with the Vicki Boutin Art Crayons, which I have found to be so versatile.

Heidi Swapp Is helping my Arty Journey

Howdy Bloggers , Lisa here with a Friday Mixed Media update ..

whoops crazy morning so I am a little late at posting. 

But today I'm sharing the fun that has been happening on my table over the last few days .

I have a new fav photo journal atm.

 Still a passionate scrapper , but wanting to art journal ,

 sometimes I am in conflict about which creative avenue to take,

 this little Heidi Swapp Photo Journal of fun provides me with both those options

 and I absolutely love that.

Retreat Photos have become the focus of this little 21 pg journal , I have so many , and although I would love to do each photo 12x12 justice , its extremely hard to get to them all. I could do the project life thing, but Its not really me .. so this little baby , has allowed me some quick colourful scrappy arty fun. *oh and you get some clear stickers in the journal to add to your work

 I have kept things simple and fun, 

using Finnabair Impasto Paints ,

  Dina Wakley Acrylic  paint, 

washi tape ,

  a selections of Art stamps,

  stickers and a few pens 

Journalling about each photo experience and memory has added to the importance of the journal.

 I have used cards from past retreats as extra journalling and colour pops

(thanks Anita for always making stuff bright )

 I dug out lots of old embellies to add fun and detail.. cutting people from photos, and layering them over other elements, gives you a little depth to your piece

 sorry peg , got some paint on ya face x

 Colour can change the mood and feel to any piece ,

 so experiment with different combos , 

and enjoy the process

use those old stickers with new ones to give new life to your journalling style 

For me the most important thing about creating , is to have fun.. 

and this journal is so much fun.

How I 'Read' the August Moodboard - Peg

Good Morning Arty Peeps!

The weekend is nearly here which means arty time for some of us, yay!

I spent time last weekend avoiding the football and playing with the Scrapping Clearly moodboard for August.

It's a fun one!

I chose to go with the colours (minus the blue), the grey and white stripes, and birds (they have wings).

My background, on heavy weight card, was made with BoBunny Glitter Paste in black

through a Crafter's Workshop cherry blossom stencil.

I used up some old Heidi Swapp acrylic 'Ghost Frames' which I ran through my sewing machine,

wonky stitching and all!

You can also see my date stamp in the corner here, I always use it with Archival ink so it doesn't run if it gets wet.

I added some splats to my background, with a variety of products, to spread a little subtle colour. First I used yellow alcohol ink because it was within reach but it was a little too orange. So I added some Dylusions Lemon Zest and Tattered Angels Key Lime Pie for a nice mix.

The colours and patterns in the Heidi Swapp 'September Skies' 6x6 paper pad were just what I wanted to highlight my pic. I used a full sheet for a photo mat and cut the two arrow pieces from another. Colouring two chevron chippies black with a marker, I stuck them down in order to reinforce the patterned paper arrow bits. 

I added an acrylic banner along the bottom edge of the patterned paper arrows, then stapled on some super cute vellum hearts (some I trimmed to a nicer shape) with staples coloured with Stazon. The little staples are Tim Holtz, the regular ones are placed using a long arm stapler to reach the middle of the page.

My black marker came in handy for colouring my title stickers too.
And there you have it, all done.

July Planning - With Karyn Schultz!

Hi Scrapping Clearly Lovelies!!! 

It's Karyn here and today I have more "July Planning" to share with you, made using the fabulous MAMBI Happy Planner, Classic, The Best is Yet to Come and Fancy Pants Designs "Joy Parade" collection available in the  Scrapping Clearly Store.
I start by collecting the supplies I intend to use (best to limit what you have on your desk to reduce decision making time lol). I organise and resize my photos in MS Word then print out on an A4 sheet of paper using an EPSON XP-600 and Ilford photo paper. Each photo used on the weekly spread is 3.7cm wide x 6cm tall, and in the monthly spread 3.7cm wide x 3.2cm tall. 

I've recently purchased a planner punch (I must say I love it!!) so I decided to use it to make some inserts for my planner. I'v used the Fancy Pants Joy Parade "Brag cards" as inserts, they are like PL cards and perfect to embellish and add to your planner.  

I decided to add a card for each week. They do however make your planner more bulky so I might need to consider some expander rings now.

Here is the updated 2 page calendar for the month. Its great to see a collage of photos from the month. 

Here is my completed weekly spread for 3-9 July. I've also included some movie tickets as well as other items from the Joy Parade collection (6x6 paper pad, Brag cards, Ephemera and puffy stickers.

Here is my completed weekly spread for 10-16 July. I really love this form of memory keeping and will do it in place of Project Life for a while.
