Circle Journal page by Tania

Hi again, I'm back today, filling in for one of our other DT members, and I want to share my latest Circle Journal page with you, inspired by this month's moodboard! I love this moodboard, the colours are totally me! Here it is:

For those of you who don't know, we here at Scrappingclearly are involved in a 12 month Circle Journal swap. We have each created our own Journals out of paper bags, created a cover and title page, and then we pop them in the mail and send on to the next person in our group. At the end of 12 months, we will have them returned to us, with 12 amazing entries from other crafty peeps! I cannot wait to get mine back at the end of the year!
So I am working in another member's journal this month. This is what they look like before you begin!

And then after the first few layers of Gesso, acrylic paint and some stencil work.....

I swiped my paint on using an old credit card, I really like the effects you can achieve!  The next layer was using more acrylic paint and bubble wrap as a stamp!

I then wanted to add a layer of stamping, which I did with a coffee stain stamp and some Archival ink in black!

On the next image you can see a little more of the texture leaf pattern which was achieved using one of my favourite, Dylusion's stencils, the Leafy flourish.

I mixed a little of the powder from a Lindy's Starburst Colour shot , into some texture paste to get a shade of green!
After all the colour mediums went on, I stamped some of the cute birds from the
Dylusions, Put a bird on it, stamp set, onto a piece of Maggie Holmes, Open Book paper, PAGES. I coloured them in with markers and stuck them on the page. The strip of patterned paper is from the Shimelle Starshine scraps I had left over and the quote is also fussy cut from the Shimelle, ASTRO, paper!

You can see here, I added some detail to my stamped black circles, using a few different paint pens. I have the fine, Dylusions paint pens and a thick Posca paint pen. Just love them!!!

To finish it off, I added some journal lines with a marker, and journaled to the theme of this person's book, which is: PIECES OF ME! You will see, I couldn't help myself and added more black circles, this time using the lid from one of my paint dabbers, and some Archival ink!!! (Love getting the most out of all my stash!)
And here is the end result, all ready to pop in a bag and send it on to the next happy crafter!!!!

I hope you've enjoyed this post! If you would like any information on the swap groups we have going at Scrappingclearly, pop on over to the Community Facebook page, the link is above!!!
Don't forget we have 2 more, new challenges this month, the moodboard above and the sketch!!! Hope you can give them a go!!!

Pretty Card set by Tania

Hi everyone, I'm sharing a cute set of cards I made today, using the most gorgeous, Shimelle, Starshine and Crate paper, Open Book ranges. I still have quite a bit left in my DT kit, but before I cut into any of the remaining papers, I thought, I would use up some of the left overs and make some cards.

The flowers in the Mercury paper, are so awesome, I still have heaps of it left, and I have fussy cut so many of the flowers from it. You can get the idea here, from the card below, where I have layered quite a few of the flowers, and popped some up with foam tape!

I used some blue card bases from my stash and then used some of the striped, Years, paper from the Open Book collection. Just a stamped sentiment and a word from the Orion, Starshine paper, finished this one off nicely.

These cards were so quick and easy. The one above, just had a gorgeous cut out from the Astro, Starshine paper, added onto the striped paper, then a stamped sentiment, some alphas from the Heidi Swapp Vintage chic pack and a cute little arrow from the Studio Calico Wood veneer pack. Oh and I mustn't forget the cute little addition of the peg from, American Crafts!

For my last card, another quick and easy one, I used the striped cut out from the Odyssey paper, the hello cut out from the Astro paper and a couple more of those fussy cut flowers from the Mercury paper!!!
I really enjoyed making these cards, hope you like. Don't forget to pop back and see what all the other DT members are up to this month, TFL!

Remember this, layout by Tania

Hi again, here I am with my 3rd and final post for the month! Can't believe August is almost over, where did that go???? I am loving working with the Shimelle, Starshine, and Crate Paper, Open Book collections this month. They truly are such versatile papers, great for male, female, family, project life, cards, all types of projects!!
My layout was inspired by Nicole Nowosad, over at Big Picture Classes! Her Color mixology class was about using Tertiary colours from the colour wheel on your layout. I was also inspired to break out the sewing machine and dust the cobwebs off, and add a bit of stitching to my layout!!!

This layout is a bit brave for me, as I don't think I would normally use such a busy mix of coloured papers on a layout all at the same time, but just having a few tips about colour, really helped! I also added a piece of vellum behind my photo to soften the layers a little!
From the Starshine collection, I used these papers: HUBBLE, SPITZER, VOYAGER & ORION. From the Open Book collection, I used: PAGES, LITTLE NOTES & MEMENTO.
Some of my embellishments were cut from the patterned paper, & I also used a handful of the totally gorgeous wood veneers from Studio Calico!! They are so cute!!!

The push bike die cut is from Kaisercraft, and I added a little Heidi Swapp Colorshine in Navy, (just a few flicks from the stem in the bottle.) (Have I mentioned that I must have some Heidi on almost everything I make!!!!!!)

So that's it from me here this month, stay tuned for some more inspiration from the other DT girls!!!
And don't forget you still have a few days left to play along with either or both of our cool challenges this month!!!!

Sunday Market layout by Tania

Hi everyone, Happy Monday!!! I have my take on the August sketch for you today!!! Using the gorgeous 'OPEN BOOK' PAPERS, from Maggie Holmes and Crate Paper. Here's the August sketch as a little reminder!

Here's my layout:

I started with the 'SWEET STORY' paper as my background, fell in love with this piece instantly! To mimick the dotty background, I thought I would use some texture paste with a TCW stencil. To colour it green, I added some of the amazing Lindy's Starburt Colour Shots. (These are powders that can be added to any wet medium to give it colour.) You can also make up your own shimmer sprays with them, I love them, you can find them in the Scrappingclearly store here.

I then layered up my papers, and found a piece of Maggie Holmes Bloom, Blissful paper with the banner border to mimick the banner in the image. That was just what I needed. I added some colour to a few of the papers and word stickers with Distress ink to help them stand out. (The word stickers are from Heidi Swapp, Tim Holtz and the alphabet stickers are from Prima.)
I did some fussy cutting for this layout, from a piece of the beautiful, SHIMELLE, starshine collection. These are the hand-cut flowers, and I added a few of the Prima sugar blooms!

The cute little wood veneers are from Studion Calico, wow, there are so many in the packet!!!
For my journaling, I made a little tag from another piece of Maggie Homes Bloom paper, and added some twine for a bow.

I finished off the page by flicking some white paint from a Posca paint pen, these make the perfect paint dots on your page, love them!
I hope you find time to play along with our August sketch and or moodboard, you can upload your link here, or on our facebook page!!!
Cheers, Tania!!!

Mood Moards and Maggie Holmes......

Good Morning, Rikki here with my first post for Scrapping Clearly !!!! Today I am sharing my take on this months mood board using Maggie Holmes Open Book range which is in store now. You still have plenty time to enter so why dont you give it a go?

Dont you just love this range? the Maggie Holmes Open Book Paper pad is the perfect thing to have instantly coordinated papers.

My favourite thing to do is fussy cut but if your not a huge fan the Maggie Holmes Open Book Ephemera packs are the way to go. They have a great range of diecut blooms already cut for you.

The Maggie Holmes Open Book Frames are great value , why dont you layer them up?

For an instant title why not use Heidi Swapps Gold Glitter Stickers? They just complement the gold fold in the diecuts....
