  Hi Scrapping Clearly Lovelies!

It's Karyn here and today I have a scrapbook page that I created using lots of fun products available at Scrapping Clearly! 

 

 

 For this page I was inspired by a challenge at a recent "Create All Day" event held by Natalie May Scrapbooking in Adelaide. The challenge was to scraplift Nat's layout. 

 

To create a background I added a geometric stencil pattern (using texture paste) to a square shape in the center of a sheet of heavy weight white cardstock. Then I painted Prima watercolour confections on using a painting with Plastic technique and splatters. Next I used a Fude Ball pen to draw around the edge of the stencilled area.

 

 

 

 Here is my completed page. 

 

 I matted my photo on Vicki Boutin Field Notes "Good Stuff" paper and distressed the edges. I fussy cut lots of butterflies from a sheet of Vicki Boutin Field Notes "Take Flight" paper, then I added a selection in an ombre pattern across the page. I added a title using Glitter Foam word stickers. And used a roller date stamp to add some random word stamping.

What a great Sunday!
Is it a creating day for you?
I have been totally inspired by this months moodboard for my share with you all today.

And now lets check out the moodboard.....

WOW!!!

To create this layout I really wanted stamping to be a main feature, especially since all the glorious
Aall & Create stamps arrived. 

Choosing to use a couple of sets, they were the Lotus Clusters #441 and Take Flight #367, I overlapped and created a stamping collage onto my cardstock.

In amongst the stamps I added 49&Market Vintage Artistry rub-ons, they are the perfect colour for the moodboard.

Once happy with the stamps and rubs, then came a little colour. Using Distress Oxides in Shaded Lilac & Faded Jeans first, I added only pops of colour in amongst the stamped images.
And then to add the contrast, watered down Art Alchemy Metallique Romance Pink for that mauve/pomegranate colour. I flicked this colours around a little too.

One of the Lotus stamps was stamped onto plain white card and then fussy cut, It become an embellishment within my cluster around my image.

A few small finishing touches with some chipboard and enamel dots.

 Welcome to another weekend full of creative experimentation. I like to think every time I get paint and ink out it will speak to me and let me know how my Layout will evolve. This one was a quick one with lots of different shades of blue using inks & watercolours. This month's moodboard is an amazing mix of bold colours and I loved tying in the texture of the cotton too.

I altered my photo to bring in the tones of the twine before I started my page. I have then started with a base of White cardstock and to that I added some Dylusions in London Blue. I have stitched a black border around my photo also.

I have used the Art by Marlene stencil - Artsy Arabia with Seth Apter Izink Dye-blue moon - dropping little bits onto the hollow of the stencil with a wet paint brush. Once dry I used my stabilo ALLS pencil to draw a rectangle where I was going to put the photo. I have then machine stitched over this.  

I have added a little more texture by using the stencil again with some Liquitex modelling paste. 

I have then used Darkroom Door stamps -Number Medley - fantastic stamps designed by Rachel Greig... if you are needing some background stamps to add subtle interest or more bolder interest these are a must on your shopping list 😉

To create the layered stack for my photo I have used Vicki Boutin printed papers - Happy Spirit and Patchwork. Before adhering the photo to the papers I wound cotton in colours of maroon, pink & orange to the base of the photo - this helped to hide a portion of the photo that was unusable and added a feature to help tie in with the moodboard. 

I have used some old Making Memories metal & vellum tags under the layers as well as some muslin to soften all those dark colours. Once all the of these layers were added I added more blue inks and watercolours to add depth. I have used Prima Art Philosophy- Truth,  Lindy's Magicals- delphinium turquoise & stormy sky.

I have added some metal embellishments and Tim Holtz sticker phrases as well as a little Dina Wakley washi tape.  I have also fussy cut some Vicki Boutin printed paper - Mosaic to use as embellishments.

The title was created using American Crafts Thickers vinyl word - Capture.

Stay Wild...with Belinda Spencer

Hello Scrapping Clearly fans!

It's Belinda here today to share my project inspired by the gorgeous March mood board.

Here's a peek at the mood board.

I decided to create an art journal spread in my Dina Wakley Media 6x6 Journal. I love the cute size of this journal. It's small so it's not so intimidating when you are staring at blank pages wondering what you are going to create! Also the paper is such good quality. Super thick and sturdy to stand up to a lot of wet media and abuse.

I spritzed the pages quite liberally with water and dropped Prima Art Philosophy Concentrated Watercolour in Bright Pink, Peacock and Truth into it. The colours are so vibrant! I find it really mesmerizing and relaxing just to sit back and watch the watercolour spread and do its thing for a while. Then I picked up the journal and let the colours run down the page. I always put some paper towel underneath to catch all the drips and also to be used later for collage.

Next I used some Ranger Dylusions Paint in Blue Hawaiian and Bubblegum Pink to add some stencilling to the background. I used Vicki Boutin Storyteller Stencils for this including both the Radiate and Wild Soul Stencils. I tried the uber talented Lisa Oxley's technique where I added the blue paint with a palette knife, placed the stencil over it and then rubbed away the paint with a wet wipe. Not surprisingly, it didn't work nearly as well as Lisa's. I may need to try it a few times to perfect it!! It still gave my pages a lovely subtle effect which turned out to work really well. I swiped some of the leftover paint on the palette knife over the pages too.

Next I added a stencilled a quote on the page and then realized my book was upside down!!! D'oh!! The white 'cloud' on the right hand side is to hide the evidence! Nevermind I solved it by using the cloud later for a collaged quote. I swiped some more gesso around the page to make it look like it was all on purpose!

Tada!! The collaged quote on the cloud. It was like I had planned it. LOL I tore a quote from the Dina Wakley Media Collage Paper Faces pack and added it to the 'cloud' using gel medium. I cut a girl from the Dina Wakley Media Collage Collective Book. I stamped some wings onto some more paper from the same book using a butterfly from the Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous Specimens stamp set and Ranger Jet Black Archival Ink. I stuck the wings on the girl and added them both to the page using gel medium. I cut a circular image from the Collage Collective Book and added that too.

 I added two stamped and fussy cut butterflies. The butterflies were from the Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous Watercolours Set and stamped on some more paper from the same Dina book. I added stamping using a cute stamp from the Inkadinkadoo Branches stamp set and the Jet Black ink. I used a black Posca Pen and the Dina Wakley Media Mini Boulders Stencil to add some wonky scribbly circles. There's a whole lot more stencilling using white gesso and the Kaisercraft Fancy Flourish Mini Designer Template as well as the Darkroom Door Cascading Stars Medium Stencil. Finally I added a gold crown using a Jane Davenport stencil and the Prima Vintage Gold Icing Paste, some doodling with Posca Pens and some Tim Holtz Remnant Rubs rub-ons.

I started by painting Prima watercolour confections Tropicals on heavy weight white cardstock (using a painting with Plastic technique and splatters). Then I added lots of Cocoa Vanilla Studio Daydream collection 6x8 papers. I fussy cut the rainbows and butterflies from 2 of the pages. I also added a Scrap FX chipboard element under the photo. The page was completed with some Tim Holtz word stickers and using a Fude Ball pen to draw around the edge of the page.

Punishment for the Flamingo! by Tracey B

 Hi everyone and happy crafting Tuesday.

It's another month and another delightful mood board.

 

I started by getting my Google on and searching for spade shapes.   I then used my silhouette Cameo to trace the shape, resize it and copy it multiple times.   I then stuck the spades onto a piece of white cardstock and randomly covered them with some Light & Fluffy through a stencil.

I forgot to take more photos as I was going but I added some background colour with Distress Oxides (Picked Raspberry & Salty Ocean) using the packaging technique;

matted my photo using some Fancy Pants patterned paper and a Pink Paislee puffy sticker.

I fussy cut some flamingos from Heidi Swapp patterned paper

then typed my journalling and added it in strips along with my title and a little washi tape to ground the flamingos.

I think this page is a little chaotic but that goes with the vibe of Paddy frantically chucking flamingos around!
