Just a few flowers

The weekly challenge went up yesterday and it is all about flowers - that within itself is a challenge for me as I don't really use many flowers - if any on my layouts. I say - challenge accepted!

I started with a base of white cardstock and added some Lindy's magicals -Alpine Ice Rose. This was applied using the infamous Kiss technique whereby you pop your product on plastic - spritz - and then lightly touch it to the page. 

Next were some layers - I started with some stamping - I have used  a line and text stamp.  Maggie Holmes Gather - pure joy printed paper was added  under the photo, sprayed tissue paper and a little white muslin.

I fussy cut the flowers from the Maggie Holmes Gather - Favourite printed paper. I placed three of these on the layout. I have used more stamping - label stamps from purple onion (they were an old set in my stash), I have also used Heidi Swapp label and words stickers under the flowers to help layer the layout and add more interest.

Foam tape was used to help lift the flowers and give them 'body'.

I have then added some metal embellishments and a little black stitching. I have also stitched a rough border of black around the outer edge of the layout. 

The final touch was just a little hand journalling

"We're all Crazy..." Friday Art Journal by Michelle

Hi All....yep It's Friday.....time for some Art Journal fun.

So here is my latest, using some Scrap FX "Graffiti Peeps - Snarky" (yes, designed by yours truly!)

So I have called this page.....

"We're All Crazy..."

I used an old clean up page to start with, out of my Art By Marlene Journal so it really was a bit of a red hot mess.....! The paint colours were DW Sky and Lemon.

I worked with a Dina Wakley Stencil, "Soul Shines" and some DW Fuchsia Gloss Spray trying to give the page some cohesion before using the Graffiti Peep as a focal point.

I added a few scribbles and spotty circles to draw the eye to the focal image.

I added some more scribbles because well thats how I roll, including some gold on the Peep, using a gold paint pen.

I added some extra embellishment to the peep using some scraps I had left over from my Tab Journal a few projects ago.

I then grabbed an appropriate saying from Tim Holtz and a few Splashes of 

DW Night Gloss Spray  and the page was done.

Be Your Own Kind Of Beautiful - With Karyn Schultz!

Hi Scrapping Clearly Lovelies!

It's Karyn here and today I have a scrapbook page that I created using the Heidi Swapp Art Walk collection and lots of other fun products available at Scrapping Clearly!

 I usually like to add an element of mixed media to my pages but the papers in this collection are already quite arty looking so there was no need to add anything else. 

For my background I have used the Pinks paper - isnt it so cool!
 

 Underneath my photo I have used mats of other papers from the collection including Tropics, and a card cut from Story Art. I've also added a jumbo paperclip, HS paper flower and Studio Calico wood veneer. The word strip was cut from the Story Art paper.

 

  

 At the bottom of my page I have used another HS paper flower, Studio Calico wood veneer, A MAMBI puffy word sticker and a HS embellishment frame.
 

  

 At the bottom left of my photo I've included an embellishment cluster with HS paper flower, A MAMBI puffy word sticker,  HS Ghost Alphas, and Studio Calico chipboard heart stickers.

Weekly May 8th Challenge, by Amanda Hartmann

 Hi all!

This week we had some awesome inspiration for our weekly challenge.

 I created this page. This page then inspired a Facebook live video last Saturday night.

Today I share both pages!!!!

How I made them:

1. Patterned paper - collaged with tissue paper, book paper and Kylie's spotty paper with gel medium.

2. Stencil work with light modeling paste

3. Added colour with Colour Blast Shimmer Dusts.

4. Inking through stencils and stamping

5. Black page edge doodling.

6. Extra colour added, plus splattering.

7. Embellish!

Epic Adventure

Hi everyone,

back again with another share inspired by this month's mood board.

I started by adding what I thought would be a little black paint to some Colour Blast Just Blue paste.   I've learned a little black paint goes a very long way but decided to use it anyway.

I added some watered down Dina Wakley paint in Lapis.

I matted my photo with some Teresa Collins Urban Market patterned paper.   

I then busted out the Cocoa Vanilla ranges I had been hoarding.   What I like about Cocoa Vanilla is that every range just works together.

Morning Peeps

I hope you  had a lovely Mother's Day full of love and family.

Sorry I am a bit late this morning but I was finishing off my lady. I am still wondering if she needs something else but I will ponder on that for a bit and maybe add to her later.

You would have seen her in the raw at the cyber crop. I have been procrastinating about what colours to do her. Then this weeks challenge popped up and I went OH YEAH.

So the first thing you need to do after you have glued down all your bits and let it dry is cover with black or white gesso. I chose black for this project. Don't freak out and think you have wrecked it. LOL.

I ordered some of the new Dina Wakely acrylic spray paints this week so I took the lime green one for a test ride. I usually use Lindy's spray but I thought why not. Now I only use a spray to get into the hard spots under all the layers that you can't reach with a brush. Let it dry completely before adding any more colour.

These colours are wonderfully vivid. I added some of the lemon as well but forgot to take a photo.

I then started with the alchemy paints. I chose Fresh orange and Brass hardware to start to bring in some shadow.

I used emerald green and dark forest for my deep green tones.

I then added a couple of lighter shades of green to blend into the background.

I used about 3 shades of opal magic paints too next to add some contrast and extra shine.... green/gold, violet/green and blue/gold

I used the white pearl on her lips and lined with the emaeral green and also on her eyes.

I brought some of the pure sunshine in at the end to give more of the yellow gold tones as in the challenge picture.

May Moodboard is for boys...

I had a look at the moodboard for May and thought it was perfect for a boy layout - it had blue right? 

Then I saw purple - yeah okay... I dropped the peach though for this little project though as I wanted to keep this layout in that zone of colours. 

I have used Vicki Boutin mixed media paper as a base and then used the Dylusions Creative Dyary stamps with Ranger Archival ink to add to the page. I have used one of the border stamps to create a frame for around my photo & added a couple more frames to that.

Using the same stamp set I pulled out the star and stamped it at the top and bottom of the frame. I have then added some Art Alchemy Sparks in Iris Potion. I used the kiss technique to add this by popping a little onto a plastic sheet, adding water and then 'kissing' the plastic sheet to the page. The shimmer of those paints are amazing. 

I gathered another stamp from the package - a little row of circles and inked up one and stamped sporadically on the page. I used Vicki Boutin crayons to color in the stars and added water to disperse the color.  

To finish off my page I have added some blue spot washi tape, Thickers alpha letters, American crafts epoxy word sticker 'FUN", Kinder Kreations flair, and a ruled border using the Fude ball pen.
