December Sketch Challenge.... Summer Love

Yippeeeee!!!
December is here and summer along with it.
Summer to me means longer days, late night walks on the beach, ice-creams from KIWI in Newcastle, and lots of memories to be made with the fam-bam...

To celebrate summers arrival I've used my first selfie of the summer with my daughter Trinity-Jewel in this fun, colourful page using this months sketch challenge as my basis...

I've used 3 different mediums in pink to create this background. First was some Dylusions Bubblegum Pink paint scrapped on with a credit card. Next was some Dylusion Bubblegum Pink Ink spray. I pooled it onto the page them blew it around using a straw. Lastly was some Colour Blast colour paste in Lipstick.

I've layered up several of the Dear Lizzy papers with some Black Stazon Ink brushed along the edges.
To embellish the page I have used the Dear Lizzy 'Happy place' Accent and phrase stickers with a couple of handmade flowers.

Simple, cute and girly scrapping that screams 'Summer Love'

Hope you come on over and play along with our sketch challenge too! Don't forget to upload onto the Facebook challenge page to be in the running to win some awesome prizes.

Happy scrapping!

Art Journalling - With Karyn Schultz!

Hi Scrapping Clearly Lovelies!!!

It's Karyn here, today I have some Art Journal pages to share with you and a little step-by-step, made using lots of goodies from Scrapping Clearly.

I'm part of one of the "Circle Journal" groups organised by Scrapping Clearly where we have all made a journal out of brown paper bags (yes! can you believe it!!). We have decorated the cover and a page inside then we send it on to other members of the group. In 12 months time it will make its way home to me with pages decorated by all the other lovely people in the group - how fun!!!

I thought I would share how I made one of the pages in one of the circle journals.

In the first pic you can see the blank paper bag pages. I've put a sheet of copy paper under each page to minimise transferring of paint to other pages in the journal. I've laid out the Dylusions paints I wanted to use (fresh lime, cut grass and calypso teal). I've used a Ranger mini-ink blending tool to apply each of the paint layers. I use the blending tool to take some of the paint off the lid and apply it to my craft mat - this allows for a more even coverage of paint.

In the next photo I've applied fresh lime paint over all of my pages. I use a circular motion to apply using the foam blending tool.
I use a similar technique to apply the green and blue paints randomly across my pages.

Next I use 2 different stencils and apply the lime and green paints through the stencils across the pages.
Next I applied texture paste through a stencil. Then I added some background stamps over my page and a Darkroom Door "Leafy Lady" feature stamp. I added some black gelato around the edges of my pages and rubbed them in with my finger.
Here are my completed pages.
I printed out a quote onto some copy paper, cut it out and stuck on my page.
I added some glitter glue accents on my "leafy lady".
Scrapping Clearly products I've used include

Dylusions Paints
Ranger mini ink blending tool
Ranger Dylusions brick Stencil
The Crafters Workshop 6x6 Mayan Calendar
KaiserCraft stamps
Darkroom Door Leafy Lady stamp
Texture Paste

Simply Wonderful

Good Morning Arty Peeps!

Peg here, playing with the mood board colours again.
I'm really loving this mix, much more than I thought I would!

So to start with I used teal, lime, and red mists on a base of heavy weight cardstock.
Then I applied some ink with a blending tool through a punchinella stencil.

I cut a small piece of patterned paper to go under the left of my matted photo, and added a couple of paper clips to the top corner. Then stuck it all down on a strip of punchinella and some pulled muslin
attached to each other with a strip of bling.

To create a better flow I stamped some circles with this ink from top left to bottom right down my page.
My title 'Simply Wonderful @ Christmas' came from lots of different packs,
click on each word to find out where it came from.
I added some bling dots and vellum stars (which I outlined with a marker and stapled on)
to embellish my page.

Some black splatters finished it all off.
I'm pretty happy with how it came out.

Here is the mood board for this month, I hope you get a chance to play with it.

Chill Time

Good Morning Arty peeps!

Peg here today, standing in for Bernii, sharing a page sort of inspired by the mood board for December.
I got the greens right anyway, haha.

This page will be winging it's way to Queensland shortly.

I used the divine and vibrant Dylusions ink sprays for my background on a piece of heavy weight cardstock. Then to add some more depth I inked through a couple of stencils using this awesome tool and these inkpads. I also used the same ink pads to stamp a light patch under the photos. I mounted foam thickers on white card to make them pop for my title, and added Motex journalling. The edge of the page I coloured with Distress Stain that had been applied to my craft mat. I have also used that particular mat as a gelli printing plate, it works quite well. This is my go-to sticky stuff for photos and paper.

Here is the mood board for December, I hope you can find time at this busy time of year to play along.
We love seing your creations!
