First Haircut Mixed Media Scrapbook Page by Amy Prior

Hi there Scrapping Clearly fans! Amy Prior back with you all again today, this time sharing a quick tutorial on how I created the background for this fun page...

Step 1: Trim your photos to size and mark off a piece of American Crafts 12x12 Double Thick White Cardstock where you would like them to be positioned using a lead pencil.

Step 2: Doodle some random circles with little stitched patterns around the page using a permanent archival quality black pen. Make sure you place these circles where they will be visible once you have adhered your photograph with any layers added around.

Step 3: Use a paint brush to add some Colour Blast - Shimmer Spray- Sunshine by roughly colouring in the circles. I do messy circles so I did not want to colour within the lines either! Add some splatters around the page as you go. Dry with a heat tool.

Step 4: After the yellow is dry, repeat Step 3 using Colour Blast - Shimmer Spray - Fire Engine and dry with a heat tool.

Step 5: After the red is dry, repeat Step 3 using Colour Blast - Shimmer Spray - Deep Water and dry with a heat tool.

Step 6: When all of the Shimmer spray is completely dry, layer some Simple Stories - Life in Color Collection - Assorted 12x12 patterned papers around the photograph and adhere onto the page. I have also added a couple of different sized doilies from my stash underneath these layers.

Step 7: Add a title to your page using stickers from the Simple Stories - Life in Color Collection - Expressions Cardstock Stickers Sheet. I have added some white doodling around the edge of some letters to help them stand out on top of a darker background.

Totem Pole Twits LOL with Amy Prior

Hi there Scrapping Clearly fans! Amy Prior back with you again today, this time sharing a layout featuring lots of gorgeous products available from the Scrapping Clearly store including Teresa Collins, Heidi Swapp and Colour Blast brands to name a few.

Step 1: Place the Heidi Swapp - Art Screen - Mixed Media Maze over the background piece of Kaisercraft - Black 12x12 Cardstock and scrape through some Heidi Swapp - Silver Metallic Art Screen Print ink. Be sure to go back and forth a few times with nice pressure to avoid uneven screen printing.

Step 2: Repeat Step 1 on the opposing corner of the Kaisercraft - Black 12x12 Cardstock.

Step 3: Sprinkle some Colour Blast - Shimmer Spray - Fire Engine over the background by simply taking off the lid to the spray bottle, then splattering here, there, and everywhere.

Step 4: Layer various sized rectangles of Teresa Collins - Something Wonderful Collection - Assorted 12x12 patterned papers underneath the photograph along with some Teresa Collins - Something Wonderful Collection - Ephemera Tags, and Teresa Collins - Something Wonderful Collection - Ephemera Pack among the layers. I have inked around the edges of everything with black ink to help them pop!

Step 5: Cut some thin strips of yellow chevron pattern from the Teresa Collins - Something Wonderful Collection - 12x12 Patterned Paper - Cards, ink the edges and adhere along the edges of the screen printed ink pattern.

Step 6: Embellish the page with various items from Teresa Collins - Something Wonderful Collection - Chipboard Buttons Teresa Collins - Something Wonderful Collection - Ephemera PackTeresa Collins - Something Wonderful Collection - Chipboard elementsTeresa Collins - Something Wonderful Collection - Decorative BradsTeresa Collins - Something Wonderful Collection - Decorative Stickers Teresa Collins - Something Wonderful Collection - Enamel Dots, and Teresa Collins - Something Wonderful Collection - Word Stickers.

Step 7: Cut some letters out of the Teresa Collins - Something Wonderful Collection - Printed Paper 12x12 paper to use for the title. I have then used some letters from the Teresa Collins - Something Wonderful Collection - Chipboard elements pack to finish off the title "Totem Pole Twits".

Bottoms up by Amy Prior - February Mood Board Challenge example

Hi everyone! Amy Prior back with you all again today, this time sharing my take on the February mood challenge which was designed by the amazing Peg Hewitt! Here is the current mood board and you can view the full details by clicking here

Here is my take on the mood board. I was inspired by the pretty flowers as well as the gorgeous colours and hearts!

I added lots of gold to this layout also because I just love this fabulous patterned paper from the My Minds Eye - My Story Collection - Patterned Paper. The gold is so hard to photograph successfully sorry but in real life this is so breathtaking!

Among the gorgeous layers of My Minds Eye - My Story Collection - Patterned Paper, I have also added various stickers from the My Minds Eye - My Story Collection - Paper Goods Stickers and My Minds Eye - My Story Collection - Story Stickers. I have inked the edges of all the papers, stickers and flowers to bring more black into the layers using Ranger Archival Ink Pad - Black and a Mini Ink Blending Tool.

I had so much fun playing with the Heidi Swapp - Wanderlust - Gold Alphas Foil sticker kit. It was so easy to use and I have added extra texture to the gold letters by squishing them down a little with my fingers. If you just want to keep the smooth gold finish, all you have to do is press the foil onto each letter. It is just so easy, I definitely recommend giving it a go! To help the letters pop off the background a little better i have doodled around the edges using a black archival pen.

Once all the layers were stuck down, I have splattered some Colour Blast - Shimmer Spray - Lipstick around the background however this step could be done first if you are afraid of splattering the photograph.

A few flowers from my stash finished this layout off perfectly.
