Lucky Life - Scrapping Group photos

Hello Scrapping Clearly readers, Leonie here with you.
Sharing this page featuring a single 6x4" Group photo.
It's been a while since I scrapped a page with this size photo.  Usually I go for 4x4" or 3x4"
But I guess when the photo contains more than 20 people, big is probably the way to go!
Any sort of family get-together is a chance at a group photo for my big loud family and the occasion of my Niece returning from a 9 month deployment in the Middle East was an extra special event so I went with a photo larger than my usual.

The background was made using Distress Inks and Distress Oxides and layering various stencilled patterns splats and splatters.  I also added some of my favourite washi tape of the moment. This pack of Dina Wakley Media Washi has some gorgeous patterns so I've layered some ripped pieces of washi under the photo.

The papers I used to matt my photo on are from the Heidi Swapp Wanderlust 5x7" paper Pad.
The Chippie title and embellishments were from my stash.

All about the {Kraft} base

Hello Leonie here today.
Do you love Kraft Cardstock? Use it sometimes? or Never touch the stuff?
Today I'm sharing a scrapbook page based on Kraft Cardstock.

But first....

Ok back to the Kraft issue.
I know we/I often go straight for white cardstock as a base for my pages but Kraft, I think, is often underrated. I find there are certain things that go so well with Kraft that I really should consider it more when choosing a background.
I wanted to use the papers from the Heidi Swapp Wanderlust 5x7" paperpad for these
photos of a girly night on the town and I thought a Kraft 
Cardstock base would suit them perfectly.
There are some lovely Neutral tones and Kraft patterns in the Wanderlust range so a Kraft cardstock base made sense.

I added some Cracked Pistachio Distress Oxide ink splatters to the Kraft.
I really like the opaque/milky look of the Oxide inks on the Kraft paper.
Just something a little different to the effect of oxides on a white base.

I found the colours in Dina Wakley's Media Washi Tape suited my colour scheme so I've added some strips under the Heidi Swapp Wanderlust Papers.

White always looks so good on Kraft Cardstock it's just one of those classic combos that looks perfect no matter what.
So I added the 'Simply' Heidi Swap Acetate word in white and some doodling to my page with a white gel pen.

Some Studio Calico Heart Stickers complimented my background so they found their way to embellishing my page.

August Moodboard Inspiration using a Grid Design

Hello, Leonie with you and today I'm talking about grid designs in your scrapbooking. 

Do you ever use them? I like working with grids I find it helps to break a page down to 6 or 9 squares and then go about filling each square with little bits and pieces.  

It can be a great way to utilise lots of embellishments.  Hands up who has loads of those?

My page today is also based on our August Moodboard - join in our challenge for a chance to win a store voucher. You can load your entry HERE.

My page is a based on a loose 9 square grid. Some elements overlap and take up two grids, I like how there's lots for the eyes to see. You can wander round the page and pick out all the little interesting elements added to each grid. 

My main grid featuring the photo of my twins is lifted slightly with a chipboard window frame from Heidi Swapp's Color Pop range.

Other elements I've used are September Skies Color Magic Die Cuts.

I coloured these with Distress Ink Stormy Sky and Distress Oxide Cracked Pistachio.

The Die Cut words were coloured with a grey ink. 

Heidi Swapp WanderLust Window Slides and Color Pop Tags were also used in some of the grids on 

this page.  I placed some sequins behind this Window slide to create a little shaker pocket.

Lastly I used a Heidi Swapp Outline Sticker in the centre square..

Brilliant Life layout with Tania!!!

Hi everyone, hope you had a relaxing Anzac Day and a spared a thought for those who served for our Country! 

Today I'm sharing a layout made with the Heidi Swapp, 'HELLO GORGEOUS' paper range. I absolutely love these 12x12" paper pads, they are so versatile.There are so many different colour options and patterns, you can create many projects to suit your style!

 I used 7 different papers, (they are double sided too!!) You can see some of the layers below in this photo. I also used the tear off piece on one of the pages to match my fussy cut flower cluster.

 Yes, I actually fussy cut this flower piece from the black and white dots piece to place it on a lighter background.

 In my cute little flower cluster, there's a gorgeous Prima flower and some leaves, which you can find here:
(Don't be afraid to alter your embellishments. The one leaf I had left in the packet was too large for my project, so I cut it in half and re-shaped it, dabbed a bit of ink on the edges and then I had 2!!!)

My title is a mix of Heidi Swapp word stickers, which I adore! So simple, they finish off the page beautifully. I loooove these gold 'Wanderlust' glitter stickers.

I want to mention the photograph, it's less than perfect I know, but it was taken with a mobile phone camera, and it is all I have of this occasion. I love the sun flare in between my Husband and I. I could've easily pushed this pic aside and scrapped another, but at the end of the day, I wanted to record this memory, and truth be known, I haven't scrapped nearly enough photos of just the two of us. Something to think about!!!

WANDERlust

Hello everyone, Michelle back this week to share a layout using the wonderful WANDERlust by Teresa Collins. Do you ever have those moments when you get new products and you just can't wait to use them and you know exactly how you want to create with them?

It doesn't happen that often for me but I had the perfect photo my 16 year old son took in our City and I knew it would be brilliant with those large Wood pieces. I spray painted them with my favourite gold spray paint and love how they look. I used a panel of pattern paper called Paper Tiles and the large gold foil Wanderlust word on the right side was on the bottom of the packaging from the chipboard. 

 Here is a close up of the wood piece Cityscape I spray painted gold, the chipboard with some gold thread and one of the Brads with added Gold Heidi Swapp Color Shine mist.

Create a beautiful life

Hi everyone, Michelle here to share my take on the October Sketch Challenge. I love a new challenge to keep me focused and creating. I have the privilege this month to be scrapbooking with the Gorgeous WANDERlust range from Teresa Collins. Of course it has a good dose of Gold and I love how it's teamed with black and white so any colour photo will go with it.

I love taking food shots but don't always use them on their own on a 12 x 12 layout but like I said the classic colours of this range will go with a lot of different photo subjects I feel. This sketch worked perfectly with the focus on the one photo.

I cut the Hello World tag to a flag shape and machine stitched with black cotton around it and the outer edge of the white cardstock. The black and white stripe paper mat behind the photo is called Paper Tiles from the collection. 

My gold title Create a beautiful life was cut from the packaging from the top of  the wood veneer packet. I didn't want to miss any of the gold words.
