'Be Yourself' - with Emma Zappone

Hello Everyone!

It's been a little time between projects for me, but I'm popping in to share a mood board inspired canvas with you today. You have all enjoyed an amazing Long Weekend of creativity with all the awesome challenges, but have you had a chance to play with the April Mood board yet?

Here is my take....

And here is the beautiful Mood board.....

The colours are simply stunning and totally my vibe!
I also used a couple of sheets from the 'Industrial Revolutions' Foundations Pack.

I focused on the circles from one of the sheets, this really helped my composition come together well.

I even repurposed some packaging from some ribbon I had used up.

The fabrics used are also from Lucky Findings Fabric Shreds I have used some from Earthly Riches & Very Peri, I love the softness they add to a project.

I just adore this months board and the it was a joy to create this project after quite some time of not feeling any creativity.

I hope you get the chance to create along with this challenge too.

I love seeing all your creations.

Till next time, Stay Creative!

Em xx

Hello there!
Em with you today. Sharing my take on this months moodboard.
Plus I have a video for this one too 😀

I hope you enjoy the video

This piece has many different products used together.
Starting firstly with the awesome Imagery Sheets by Lucky Findings
I used one from the Monarch Blue sheet.

Then I started my background.
Choosing a Tim Holtz collage paper and of course a mix of 49 & Market Rub ons.

You can see the whole canvas come together in my video.

Still plenty of time to join in the fun with all the challenges here at ScrappingClearly.
So much to choose from, I'm sure your creativity will be flowing.

I will catch you all again very soon.
Happy crafting.

'Dream Big' by Emma Zappone

Hey everyone, Em with you all today.

Today's share is a mixed media tag that compliments this months Palette play board. And there is a small video of it coming together.

It's a gorgeous palette, soft with a pastel vibe. I did use brighter versions of this palette though, with my background more muted.

I used a mixed bag of products to create this piece. Mostly 49&Market and Ideaology.
You can see more products here in the video....

Even though it had some brighter pops of colour, it still has that overall soft feel.

I used distress oxides for my 'watercolour' paints and added it to my resin casting as well.

I really like working with white. I find the vibrancy of colour easy to work with and balance out.

I hope you get the chance to play with palette this month. I love the variety of colours.
And I hope my video inspires a little too.

I will catch you all again soon.

Em xx

Whimsical Monsters and Junque Journalling

 Why hello there Saturday morning...

Let's start of Saturday with my take on this week's ATC prompt.

Whimsical Monsters - Invent your own whimsical monster and bring it to life.

well... I didn't create my own, instead I used a stamp. so, you know, same same but different.

Keep it Real

an Octopus Bride is whimsical and monstery isn't it...
I started off by sticking down some Rice Paper from the Lucky Findings Butterfly Effect pack.
Then I got out my crackle paste (it's almost dead so I'm trying to resurrect it) and used it like I would with Gesso and scrapped it on in places.
then I stamped the image onto some tissue paper and added it to the background.
Coloured it in using watercolour pens and some distress oxide inks (supply list at the end).
stitched around the outside and added a title.
ATCs don't need to be complicated just fun.
and here is the whole piece.
and of course.. what does it look like in my little album/book.

I also thought I would jump on and tell you about the Junque Journal Kits.

I purchased the January one. You see I'm still finding my way back to creating regularly and I've found that kits/instructions have been helping.

and well the January Junque Journal Kit is freaking awesome.
I'll share my completed one in another post

(Code for once I've actually finished it).

but.. what I wanted to say is that even though there are instructions and majority of the items needed. You only have to dig into your own supply for the mediums and glues really - unless you're like me and go off on a tangent.

and just so you can see what I'm talking about, I thought I would share a page from it.

on the left is the image that was to be created...
on the right is where I ended up.
I mostly followed the instructions, but I will be totally honest. When colouring the flower, I broke it (as in, I absolutely freaking hated what I did). So, I had to come up with an alternative.
I looked through my stash and found this image that was from a Banksy calendar that I was given. I just cut it down to size (it still has a flower) and added it along with my usual words. For me a creative piece isn't finished unless it has words...
Then, the background wasn't grungy enough, so I added black paint, washi tape and some other bits to get to a stage where I liked what I had created.

As you can see, even though you are following an amazing kit there is still lots of room to add your own personal flair. If you're looking for a little something to kick off your creativity, then I highly recommend them.
Junque Journal Kits are released monthly and they are amazing!!!!!.

Supply list:
keep it real (ATC)
There's only 1 left.. but pre-order for any other month!!!. do it.

until next week
Live with Respect

'Dream Chaser' by Emma Zappone with VIDEO

Welcome to my Thursday share.
I have an 8x10" canvas with VIDEO for you today.
It is based on this months Palette Play 'Natures Bounty'

I'm not going to lie, this Palette excited me, as I love browns and greens. The earthy feel this has is sensational.

You can check out my YouTube Video here to see it all play out.....

I had fun mixing and matching some of the Lucky Findings papers for this project.
And I love the effect the transparency from the 'Earthly Riches' collection has for the background.

I love how it looks like a large stamped area.
I also added papers from the 'Velveteen Elk' collection, they matched the Earthly Riches range just beautifully. There is also a layer of a 'Ciao Bella' rice paper to compliment all the layers.

I loved adding all the textural elements also. Like the resin wings and gear elements.
They added a little edge to the project.

The ticket elements are a variety of pieces from all different Tim Holtz Ideaology tags, tickets and ephemera. I just rummage through and choose pieces that compliment the colour scheme.

And my project wouldn't be mine if it didn't have some 49&Market on it. Leaves & Butterflies are always a must.

Grab a cuppa and enjoy the process video too.

I hope this project inspires you to create something unique.

Until next time, Em xx
