Everyday - With Karyn Schultz!

Hi Scrapping Clearly Lovelies,

It's Karyn here, and today I have a scrapbook page to share with you made using lots of goodies from the Fancy Pants "Golden Days" collection available in the Scrapping Clearly Store.

I've used a photo of one of the beautiful sunrises we enjoy at our house! I love seeing the sun rise - especially just as it is coming over the horizon. Spring and Autumn sunrises are the best when the sky is clear and I don't have to get up earlier than 6am lol. Isn't this amazing!!

 

I've used papers, flair and ephemera from the Fancy Pants "Golden Days" collection and added some Cocoa Vanilla Studio cut files.  

I've added some chipboard from my stash and left it in its raw state to complement the tones of the papers.  

Clean and Simple was my motto for this page :)

My background is 2 sheets of patterned paper from the Golden Days collection. I've matted my photo with more of these papers and a feature of my page is a gorgeous cutfile from Cocoa Vanilla Studio . I've then added ephemera and puffy stickers from the Golden Days collection and wooden hearts, tags and gold arrow embellishments from my stash.

Stash Busting with Leonie

Hello, Leonie with you today and I've gone back to one of my favourite collections for this post.

I created a heap of pages with the Fancy Pants Designs Golden Days collection earlier this year.

I still had some papers and embellishments left so decided to do some stash busting. 

We all have bits of left over collections and kits in our stash so I was on a mission here to use up some of mine.

My Tribe

Falling Leaves was one of my favourite papers in this collection so I used it as a base for this page.

I used an old store card to swipe some Dina Wakley paint across my page.  The Night colour was a great match for the charcoal leaves in the paper.  

I used lots of papers from the collection kit to layer under my photo.  This fancy pants collection has so many wonderful embellishments and I used plenty of them on this page.

There are Puffy Stickers, Flair Buttons, Diecut Ephemera, Tags and Labels and Puffy dots.

For a little extra interest I used a real feather on my page along with the diecut feathers from the ephemera pack.  I used Heidi Swapp Color Shine to add some colour to the feahter.

I've also added some other bits and pieces from my stash to embellish my page. 

A doiley, sequined heart and wood veneer.

Gold Fever and February Sketch with Leonie Neal-Dawson

Hello from Scrapping Clearly.

 Leonie with you today on this Valentines Day.

Today I have a little inspiration for our readers using our February Sketch.

It's a lovely multi-photo sketch with plenty of room for Journalling designed by DT member Peg Hewitt.

I've taken a fair bit of creative licence with this one as you can see below! In place of the title I used another photo and in place of the two photos I added a heap - err well 7 actually- albeit quite small photos but they take up the same space as in the sketch.  Do you follow a sketch down to the last flower or do you like to change things around a little? I like to use them as a guide and they certainly do help to get things started. It can make creating so much easy especially if you are stuck for a beginning place. 

After laying out my photos it was just a matter of finding all the pretty decorative pieces I wanted to add to my page. I went with a Gold theme, inspired by the golden glow in my main photo.

I've been using the Fancy Pants 'Golden days' collection over recent weeks and there were some gorgeous gold accented embellishments in the range. The Golden Days puffy Stickers title and the acetate flourishes are from the Ephemera pack, and a button from the Flair Button pack.  

The layered Die-Cut borders including that gorgeous glittery scallop are by Teresa Collins. If you're a fan of Teresa Collins products the Scrapping Clearly store has a fabulous collection of her products HERE.  

In my recent Design Team Pack Kylie sent me a pot of Vicki Boutin's Golden Glaze.
Have you seen or used this product before? Wow!! It is so lovely to use, I spread it through a stencil
and love the result, it dried with a beautiful shiny gold finish.
I also watered down some of the glaze and used it to add some splashes and drips of gold to my page.
Because I hadn't seen this product before I did a little YouTube surfing, as you do, and found a heap of different uses for this glaze so I will definitely be playing with this product again.

Lastly I used puffy Dot Stickers and phrases from the Ephemera pack and Cork Stickers to embellish my cluster of smaller photo's

Crazy Bunch..Scrapbooking Background Techniques

Hello, Leonie with you today on the Scrapping Clearly blog. 

I'm using the Fancy Pants Designs Golden Days collection.
You can see some of my previous projects using this range HERE and HERE.  Today I will also show you how I used 

Dina Wakley Heavy Body Acrylic Paint to create the background on my page.

I wasn't sure where I was headed with this page so I began by playing around with a couple of different techniques on several pieces of Marshmallow card-stock and then, when I had a better idea of what I wanted on the background, I ended up combining a couple of different techniques to create this background.

The first layer I added was with some watered down Dina Wakley Acyrlic Paints.  I squeezed a small amount of paint onto a craft mat and sprayed with water until I had a thin fluid consistency. Then I used the ever faithful 'plastic bag stamping' technique to stamp the fluid colour onto my cardstock. I know I probably use this method too much, but it always works so well to create lovely water colour splats and splashes, so I figure when you're onto a good thing why mess with it?

I repeated this process with three different colours in the Dina Acyrlic Paint range until I was happy with how the page was looking. I chose colours that I knew would match the Golden Days papers. I especially like the metallic sheen the 'Penny' colour gave to the page. 

I knew I wanted to add a contrasting colour for the next layer so I decided to draw some circles with the fine tip applicator of the 1oz bottles of paint.

There are some pictures below showing this on a 'practice page', I wasn't quite brave enough to add it straight to my background without trying it out a few times first!

Then it was time to pull out all the lovely Fancy Pants papers and layer them behind my collection of photo's (yes as you can see we went a little crazy taking selfies at this family birthday event).

 I'm really enjoying the large Printed Alphas  in this collection. I've created 3 titled pages with them so far and haven't got to that stage where I'm running out of any letters.  

The Fancy Pants ephemera pack has a large selection of die cuts, both paper and clear acrylic; tags and words.  I also added a flair button from the Fancy Pants collection.
