May sketch, LIVE, LAUGH, LOVE layout by Tania

Hello again lovely bloggers!! For this post, I'm sharing my take on this month's sketch by the fabulous, Peg! I really loved this sketch and found it so easy to put my page together using it for inspiration. I really just did grab my papers and cut, without too much thought process, which sometimes is all we have time to do. Gotta love a sketch!

I am once again using the Teresa Collins, Something Wonderful Range. This kit collection has produced so many projects for me, and honestly, I still have so  much left!!

The backing paper, from both the 12 x 12" stack and 6x6" stack, washi tape, stickers and chipboard buttons, are all from the range. I also added a tiny bit of colour on my background page with some Vicki Boutin Art Crayons. I did this by colouring onto my craft sheet, and using a wet sponge, dabbed it through a stencil to create some subtle splats.

Hope you like my page and you have a couple more days left to play, hope you find the time!!!

Going Green

 Good Morning Arty Peeps!
Hope this morning finds you well and happy, and ready to rock another week.

I'm going bright and green today in celebration of my Hippy child.
We had a trip out to Gostwyck Chapel for some Mother's Day photos, it's such a pretty place in Autumn!

For the background I used a piece of 'resist' paper, similar to these ones (but much older!) and coloured it up with Dylusions spray inks. I added some stencilling with Stazon inkpads and a foam applicator.

Under the photo, I used a piece of Hambly transparency with an inked edge, and my title is cut from a transparency overlay and the word outlined with a Slick Writer. I stapled both the transparencies to my page.

I coloured these stickers black for my sub-title, added some Dymo and journalled on strips of correction tape outlined with black.
With all the pattern details in the background my page needed no further embellishing, pretty quick.

Hope you have a creative week. There are still a couple of days to play with our mood board and sketch challenges, entries close at the end of the month. Upload to our Facebook albums (click on the links).

Thanks for coming by,
'til next time,

More Distress Oxide Cards - With Karyn Schultz!

Hi Scrapping Clearly Lovelies!!!

It's Karyn here and today I'm showing some more cards I made using Distress Oxide's available in the  Scrapping Clearly Store.

I wanted to continue experimenting with how they worked and other colour combinations.

For the first card I swiped the inkpad direct to my cardstock then spritzed with water. I dried this off then I tapped the card gently back down on my craft mat to soak up the remaining ink.

For the next card I stamped the ink pad direct to my craft mat, then spritzed with water, then smooshed my card on the inks. I did this a few times, drying off between each smoosh.
For the last card I used a paint brush to splatter the watery inks across my page. I decided that I would use this card to stamp some circles onto. I then fussy cut all the circles to use on my cards.

Here are my finished cards. I matted my background card onto a piece of patterned paper from the Pink Paislee Moonstruck collection. Then I attached a strip of gold foil velum, also from the Moonstruck collection, with a tiny attacher. Then I added some of the stamped circles and a sentiment from my stash.
How awesome does this background look! and I love how the splatters show up on the stamped circles.
I assembled the second card in a similar way.
I love the way this background looks like it has been watercoloured but has more of a matt chalky appearance.
Scrapping Clearly products I've used include

Cardstock
Distress Oxides ink pads (Fossilised Amber, Spiced Marmalade, Worn Lipstick, walnut stain)
Darkroom Door Arty Circles stamp
Pink Paislee "Moonstruck" collection (papers, and gold foil velum)
Tiny Attacher

Keeping it Simple Scrappers- My Kiss approach to scrapping Masculine Photos.

Howdy Folks , Lisa Here with a Friday mixed media blog update .
I've been up in the beautiful New England region of NSW, Australia,
getting arty with some super creatives and I do have to say ,
there is something about that region that does something to your creative mojo.
Well for me it got my flow happening and I pumped out 5 layouts ,2 art journal pages, one mini album and happily taught class with some very lovely, eager country ladies.
Today I am sharing 2 simple layouts completed for my old mate Erico and his boys.
We met just under 20 years, when he, an actor and his Belgian director mate were in Australia.
Now the internet and various social media platforms keep us all connected like never before and they share photos and stories with me , which makes scrapping extra fun.
When I am scrapping I like to keep it simple, the photo is the story,
especially on some of his impact shots.
a simple Joggles stencil with a little Dina Sky paint,
a random doodle or 2 with my ,must have, Fude ball black journal pen
a few simple embellishments and this baby fell together.
I really do love this photo of Rico and his boys ,
the eldest is already following his dads lead and has joined the acting profession and will be
featuring in The Happy Prince , an upcoming British biographical drama film about Oscar Wilde,
written and directed by Rupert Everett
The film stars Everett, Colin FirthColin MorganEmily Watson, and Tom Wilkinson.
I am very excited and do hope that it come this way, so the family can check it out ,
and I can see him work with the amazing Beatrice Dalle ( Betty Blue )

Just sliding another simple layout in , another featuring my entertaining friend,
during a trip to Ibiza.A seriously cool underwater photo that has to be scrapped .
Starting with Marshmellow Bazzill cardstock and a few smears using my awesome heavy duty Liquitex palette knife from Scrapping Clearly with gorgeous Dina Wakley Media acrylic paint ,I laid a lovely painty foundation, then laying a Wing stencil over the paint I rubbed back
,spread and removed the wet paint to fill the stencil image .
When dry,my white posca pen, and black fude added some extra background interest points, before matting the photo, adding some fun embellies,a title and an little journal details

Thanks so much for dropping by the SC blog ,
I'll be back next week with a burst of colour , using my new Vicki Boutin Journal and inlays .
I'm in a colourful creative frenzy atm, and had to be dragged from the table to sleep last night .
Back to it today and lots of bright fun coming your way.
Stay tuned Bloggers

This Made Me Laugh with Melinda Sweetman

Hi there ScrappingClearly followers, Melinda here with you today with my take on the very fun May 2017 mood board. This was also designed by the very talented Peg and after much deliberation I came up with a fun page that I am really happy with!

First up, the mood board

And here is the page I created

This is a photo of hubby from our honeymoon (back in 2008) and one of the King Prawns we enjoyed at one of the places we ate out at. I chose this photo because I really wanted to challenge myself to somehow incorporate that fish!! Easy enough to run with the colours but man that fish stumped me for a while! My mind started wandering and wandered right along to this exact photo and the story I wanted to tell that goes along with it. My husband DOES NOT eat prawns!! Haha! But this night I think between the 2 of us we ate 2 or possibly 3 of these King Prawns and we both loved them!

Here you can see all that messy fun in the background!! I love how it came together and I used the awesomely cool and fun Scribble Sticks by Dina Wakely in Ruby, Tangerine, Lemon and Night. These things, if nothing else, are super fun to work with. I watched another scrappers tutorial process video which gave me a couple of ideas but I did play a bit too to get the feel of how best they work! And indeed, dipping the scribble stick into some water and scribbling onto the page was the best way to get a vibrant colour!
Oh, and I did apply a quick coat of white gesso to help the colours move.

I've also used some of the fun watercolour stickers by Vicki Boutin, the arrows and the word Laugh. Love how they came out, however, a heads up, don't add LOTS of water, the paper will pill up!! Lesson learned ;)

I have used the gorgeous Teresa Collins Nine & Co range for all my embellishing and all the paper layers. Oh, and that cute camera paper clip by American Crafts.

There is a process video for this page, just click below and enjoy!

That's it for me for today, so have fun and remember you still have a little over a week to get your entries in for both the sketch and the mood board challenges!!

Thanks for stopping by,

Melinda

Planner Girl by Lauren Hender

Hi Everyone! Welcome back to the Scrapping Clearly blog.

Today I am sharing with you some embellishing of my brand new Websters Pages color crush travellers notebook (TN). I have recently fallen in love with this style of creativity. I think it's suited to my busy life raising children and working.

I just love having tassels and pretty bit's and pieces hanging out of my TN.
But I soon realised that if these pretties are not sturdy they get destroyed by me throwing it around my handbag and scrap room. Heidi Swapp came up with a solution..

All you need is a minc or laminator & a set of these Heidi Swapp tags to create these super cute and sturdy tags for your planner or TN.

SHOP HERE

I will tell you the truth, putting these cute little tags through my minc was freaking me out. I had this fear that they would get stuck inside. But, there was no reason for fear as they popped out the back to the minc with ease looking beautiful.

I then added some sweetness to them by using some ribbon, and Heidi Swapp glitter words.
SHOP HERE

To punch the holes in the top of the tags I used a standard hole punch with ease.

I hope my tags have inspired you to vamp up your planners or TN's. I encourage you to stop by the Scrapping Clearly store and check out these cute tags and glitter words.
There is a variety of colours and styles that would make a great sturdy feature.

Happy Creating
Lauren xoxo

May Moodboard cards with Tania

Hi all!! For my post today, I made some cards, and the papers I had from the Pink Paislee, ATLAS range, worked perfectly for the colours in this month's moodboard! Here it is if you haven't yet seen it!!!

Here is my little preview of the cards with some detailed pics below!!!

So all the papers are from the Atlas range, and I made the tags from the papers and added some eyelets and tied some twine around them!!! Then I jazzed them up a little with some enamel dots and a flair from my stash!

The 2nd card also has a little Washi tape added, from the Teresa Collins, Something Wonderful range, and a few flicks of ink from my Dylusions' spray.

The last card, I made for a friend, who turns 50 on Sunday! I wanted to make a background which resembled splashes, so got out the Distress Oxide inks and played around with them on some black card and got some pleasing results. I flicked some more Dylusions spray inks. (Including the Mica sprays, which have an amazing sheen to them.)

Hope I've inspired you to play along with our moodboard this month!!! I really loved the bright colours in this one!!!
