Mr 17 by Lauren Hender

Hi Everyone,

Thanks for checking in with the Scrapping Clearly blog.

Today I am sharing a layout highlighting the beautiful Teresa Collins range 'Something Wonderful'.

I love the versatility of this range. It is perfect for both scrapping our boys and girls and with great accessories to match.

My Mr 17.
I am so proud of the young man my step son has become. I hope that his life is full of joy and happiness. I hope that life with throw struggles at him that he can cope with and rebound well from. I hope that he falls madly in love and has children that adore him (not too many though lol)

This layout is a simple laying layout. Nothing too fancy going on. Sometimes I think not to much is needed to make a fabulous layout and I am struggling with space in my albums so I am trying hard to reduce the bulk on my layouts. lol

There are a couple of splashes of pink paislee, crate paper and Kaiser craft also..
Crate paper was the 'loved' , Pink Paislee is the little flower and the '&'. Kaiser Craft was the 'Young, wild and free' phrase.

So lets go shopping:

Thanks again for stopping by the blog. I hope my layout has inspired you to scrap your teenage boys with this stunning collection.

Love this Boy layout by Tania

Hi there friends!!! I'm back with you today, with my take on the Feb sketch, you still have until midnight tonight, if you wish to play along!!!! Check it out below!!!

Now, I know I've mentioned this before, but I am a huge fan of the Golden Days collection by Fancy Pants!!! Seriously, what a great kit, the colours are something I would not normally go for myself, so it has been very refreshing moving away from my comfort zone and having the opportunity to scrap another boy page!!!

Look at these adorable, puffy stickers from the collection, love the gold ones!!! (Which have some cool words you can use in your titles!)
I cut a few little arrow pieces out as extra embellishments!

I'm also a fan of the large paper alphas, I really don't use enough of all the alphabet stickers and thickers I have. This kit makes it all so easy when even the alphas match the papers!!!

And there you have the complete layout. The only extras I used from my stash were: cardstock, the negative of a large die cut heart I did on my Silhouette Machine, some paper punches, ink and tiny alphas.
Everything else is from the Scrappingclearly store listed below!!!

Thanks for looking and don't forget to keep an eye on our Community Facebook page to check out all the other entries for this month's challenges, and upload your own if you have time to play!!!

Birthday Cards - With Karyn Schultz!

Hi Scrapping Clearly Lovelies!!!

It's Karyn here and today I have 2 cards to share with you made using the Crate Paper Maggie Holmes "Chasing Dreams" collection  available in the Scrapping Clearly Store.
As soon as I saw the gorgeous papers in this latest collection by Maggie Holmes I instantly knew I wasted to make cards. Isn't it funny how some collections inspire you to make scrapbook pages, or do project life, or use more mixed media! The tag shapes on the 12x12 adventure paper sheet inspired me to make more tag shapes using paper in the 6x6 pad and these tags were a focal point on my cards.

I've matted various papers from the collection onto my card base (14cm x 14cm card front) then layered the doilie, tags and other papers. Lastly adding stickers, puffy stickers and these gorgeous mini tassels!! I also used my flair maker to make my own flair using paper from the collection.
Scrapping Clearly products I've used include

Cardstock
Crate Paper Maggie Holmes "Chasing Dreams" collection   (adventure 12x12 paper, 6x6 paper pad, sticker sheet, puffy stickers)
Crate Paper Maggie Holmes "Gather" mini tassels

Thanks so much for stopping by

Something Wonderful!

Hello Arty Peeps!
Hope you're all having a fab weekend and enjoying the lower temperatures!

I have been playing with the Teresa Collins 'Something Wonderful' range over the last week and want to share a couple of my pages with you today.
It's a pretty range with lots of pink, but not specifically girly. The tones were exactly right for this page of my youngest getting heat stroke at school, see how it matches his face perfectly, haha.

A very simple layout with some typed journalling on a piece from the 6 x 6 paper pad, embellished with a few decorative brads, chippies, and stickers.

Teal is the other featured colour in this range so I highlighted it on this page, adding some Heidi Shine to a layered paper background to blend it all together.
I matted my title alpha stickers on black and went over the white with a black pen to give them some punch.

I wrote over the Bingo word on the patterned paper, and framed it with some washi tape and a sticker cut in half to make it stand out. Some sticky chippies help to ground my photos.

I'm really enjoying this range, more than expected, and have plenty left, so next month I'll be sharing some more pages using Teresa Collins' "Something Wonderful".
Stay tuned.

'Til next time, stay crafty,

The erotic art of Alpha Channeling , Naked Swimmers-A day trip to the Olsen Gallery

Howdy bloggers, Lisa here with a kind different mixed media blog update .
Just back from a dash to Sydney yesterday to catch up with my amazing 94 yr old grandmother,a visit with my mans bestie and to check out a few artist at the Olsen Gallery in Woollahra,my hometown in the 90s,one of the more upmarket areas of the eastern suburbs of Sydney. When I lived there in my 20s ,I worked as an nanny for a wealthy business family, whom bought art regularly and it was always a treat to check out the pieces and rub shoulders with the art set.
Today I want to share with you a few artists and their pieces that are beautifully inspiring and just a heads up... everything they use to create, is in your stash or can be purchased at Scrapping Clearly .

"How light gets in " Julian Meagher .
His work is beautiful. I was lucky enough to get to the Archibald Exhibition last year and Julians piece of Daniel Johns-from the Australian band Silverchair(check out his Talk album, its a masterpiece)..was definitely my favorite hanging on the walls in that showing .
This man is training to be a surgeon-from what we heard from the gallery curator.
Seriously, can one man really have so much talent.

Martine Emdur
We walked up stairs to the large loft gallery and we were transformed
into an underwater world of beauty and light, intimacy and weightlessness.
These incredibly large majestic pieces of naked underwater swimmers created a for me a feeling of
serene calm and how she plays with light and dark,
with oil paints on linen, well it was utterly inspiring
average price for one of these babies.. $30,000.
 Wonderland 2- Martine Emdur
 Glide- Martine Emdur
 title unknown

And the reason we initially ventured to the Olsen Gallery was for this showing,
by one of our favorite Instagram artists AlphaChanneling ,
a Swiss artist who draws erotic art with Pencil on watercolour paper.
Simple, colourful, beautiful erotic art with gorgeous line work and flow.
Paul being a draftsman and artist himself really relates and is
inspired by this amazing Instagram artist work.

"There’re all these themes and content that most people would
put up an immediate barrier against because they feel like it’s shameful or embarrassing to like.
But because it’s kind of hidden in this graphic, protective aesthetic,
I think people can be more open to it. It seems acceptable."
--- quote from the artist

How many galleries are in your area?
Have you visited one in the last 12 month?
If you have some free time this weekend, why not head out and
find a gallery and check out what the local artist are creating.
I know you will be inspired to make more art.
Thanks for dropping by..
I am off to play in my art space.
See you next week.

Cards using Cocoa Vanilla Studio's Free Spirit with Melinda

Hi there scrappy friends!! Today I am here with you sharing a few quick cards I have put together using mostly scraps from the last DT kit that Kylie sent me. I had been sent the gorgeous Free Spirit collection by Cocoa Vanilla studio and had used a lot of the bits previously in a PL spread so thought I would challenge myself to use up the off cuts I had left!

Here are the 3 cards I came up with and I think all up it took me less than hour, though I wasn't timing myself!! I have had spent the last few days getting my computer up and running again thanks to a virus so I wanted something to do while I waited for the next screen to click, next, yes, no, blah, blah, blah!! And, as a total side note, PLEASE remember to back up!! I was fortunate enough that though I lost everything almost everything was backed up in my most recent back up!!

Now, onto the fun stuff!

My cards

I really had so much fun playing with all the little bits and pieces. And, aren't those flowers just beautiful!? I am currently trying to decide how (well, actually IF!!) I'm going to use the last 2 from the pack!

And here is a close up shot of each card

As you can see I have used the same floral in the background for all 3 cards. I started with a 6"x12" piece. The 3 bases measure (from top to bottom) 14.8cm x 10.5cm, 14.3cm x 10cm and 13.8cm x 9.5cm. One sentiment is from the sticker sheet while the other 2 were fussy cut from one of the papers and all of the other bits are off cuts or stickers.

I hope this inspires you to look at your scrappy left overs in maybe a little bit of a different light and get those scraps used up!

Here is a list (including links) of all the products I have used:
CVS - Free Spirit - 12" x 12" Paper - Dreamy
CVS - Free Spirit - 12" x 12" Paper - My Way
CVS - Free Spirit - 12" x 12" Paper - Wildflowers

Thank you, as always, for stopping by and happy scrapping!!

Bottoms up by Amy Prior - February Mood Board Challenge example

Hi everyone! Amy Prior back with you all again today, this time sharing my take on the February mood challenge which was designed by the amazing Peg Hewitt! Here is the current mood board and you can view the full details by clicking here

Here is my take on the mood board. I was inspired by the pretty flowers as well as the gorgeous colours and hearts!

I added lots of gold to this layout also because I just love this fabulous patterned paper from the My Minds Eye - My Story Collection - Patterned Paper. The gold is so hard to photograph successfully sorry but in real life this is so breathtaking!

Among the gorgeous layers of My Minds Eye - My Story Collection - Patterned Paper, I have also added various stickers from the My Minds Eye - My Story Collection - Paper Goods Stickers and My Minds Eye - My Story Collection - Story Stickers. I have inked the edges of all the papers, stickers and flowers to bring more black into the layers using Ranger Archival Ink Pad - Black and a Mini Ink Blending Tool.

I had so much fun playing with the Heidi Swapp - Wanderlust - Gold Alphas Foil sticker kit. It was so easy to use and I have added extra texture to the gold letters by squishing them down a little with my fingers. If you just want to keep the smooth gold finish, all you have to do is press the foil onto each letter. It is just so easy, I definitely recommend giving it a go! To help the letters pop off the background a little better i have doodled around the edges using a black archival pen.

Once all the layers were stuck down, I have splattered some Colour Blast - Shimmer Spray - Lipstick around the background however this step could be done first if you are afraid of splattering the photograph.

A few flowers from my stash finished this layout off perfectly.

Complete product list for this layout includes...
My Minds Eye - My Story Collection - Patterned Paper
My Minds Eye - My Story Collection - Paper Goods Stickers
My Minds Eye - My Story Collection - Story Stickers
Heidi Swapp - Wanderlust - Gold Alphas Foil sticker kit
Colour Blast - Shimmer Spray - Lipstick
Ranger Archival Ink Pad - Black
Mini Ink Blending Tool

Well that is it from me today, thanks so much for stopping by and until next time, happy scrapping!

Follow Your Dreams by Lauren Hender

Hi Everyone!
Welcome back to the Scrapping Clearly blog.

Today I am sharing with you a layout of my beautiful son many years ago.

It was a quick and easy layout to create using some Heidi Swapp color shines, some stamps and a few pieces of ephemera.

To build this layout I started with flicking some different colours of the color shine in a clustered area. This was surprisingly fun. The gold color shine is just stunning. It gives an almost foiled effect on the page.

I then adhered the photo to the page, added some stamps and drew a double edged frame around the photo. I then added some ephemera. The trick is keep it simple and then you will draw people to look at your photo.  Finally used a fine paint brush to fill in some hearts and added some journaling.

So let's go shopping:

I hope this simple layout has inspired you to get creative.

Happy Scrapping,

Lauren xx

My Tribe layout, using Fancy Pants Golden Days collection, by Tania

Hello lovely scrappers! Today I'm here to share another layout using this gorgeous, Fancy Pants collection- Golden Days. I love it so much!!! I've managed to use about 8 of the different patterned papers on this one and some matching ephemera and embellishments, without too much pattern clash...(I hope!!)
I've used this month's moodboard for inspiration! Here it is here:

And here's my layout!!

I love all the different elements in the ephemera pack, there's some gold embellishments in there, which match perfectly with the Puffy stickers, and the gold, acetate words, the paper clips too!!! (The paper clip is holding my hidden journaling behind the photo!!!

The gold arrowheads are awesome for adding another focal point on your page, and when I wanted to tie it all together, I added a few of the gold hearts from the puffy sticker pack. There's also some numbers from the Paper alphabet pack.

This layout came together in a few hours, (that was including getting dinner in between!!) That's what I love about having matching bits from a complete range, it comes together quite easily, without too much thinking.

Here is a list of the products used, all from the Scrappingclearly store.

Thanks so much for joining me and I hope you find time to play along wtih our challenges this month!!!
Be sure to upload them over on our Community Facebook Page to be in the running for a fab prize from the Scrappingclearly store.
See you next time,
