Celestial Wonders - ATC

 Good morning Saturday.

I'm back with another share. Today I will share my take on this week's ATC prompt:

Celestial Wonders - illustrate a scene from outer space, galaxy, or starry sky.

I'll be honest, I didn't quite know where to start with this, so I thought I'd just start with Crackle Medium for some texture and antiquing cream for the black. (I'll add the product list to the bottom of this post)

I then sprayed some glimmermist for some sparkle, oxide inks, and Lindy's Magical shakers for colour. I finished off the background with some splatters of ink.

I found a resin moth and painted it with metallique acrylic paint.

Then I added some stitching to the ATC prior to adding the moth. I found a Tim Holtz chipboard word and coloured it with some of the background mediums that were left overs.

To bring it all together, I found some thread and purple fabric to mount the word on. PS. lucky for Tracey Thorne supplying purple fabric - anyone who knows me, knows that I really don't like purple.

Here are some close ups.

and the final overall look.

'Dreamy Landscapes' ATC by Emma Zappone PLUS Video

Welcome everyone to another ATC share from me 🤗
I must admit I am having so much fun playing with these tiny cards.

And I've had fun creating these fast little videos of them coming together too.....

Dreamy Landscapes had me scratching my head a bit, wondering how I could incorporate my own challenge of using 49&Market products and using them with this theme.
So came the concept of peering through a window to the outside 'landscape'.

I started by painting the card with some ABM acrylics in greens and blues, (you can see this process better in the video)
And then proceeded to layer some 49&Market Rub-ons to add dimension to view from my 'window'.

Next came some layered die cut elements, again from a couple of different 49&Market collections, using up more from the stash.
The window is an old Tim Holtz one, I love that you can use these for so many different types of projects.

I hope you get a small slice of inspiration to join in with the ATC challenge.
I look forward to seeing all your creations.

Catch you again next week.
Em xx

Time of Our Lives - Palette Play + next ATC

 Hi all, Welcome to Saturday.

I am back with my take on the January Palette Play, where Scrapping Clearly provide a palette of colours and you create your own take on that with only using additional monochromatic magic.

YEP.. I forgot to add the steps. So, I will just include the close ups and add the Supplies list to the bottom. but I did start with some texture paste through a dot stencil and then smooshed some of the distress oxides into it.

see, I told you the last post that I like to add wings

and the final image all together. oh and Don't forget to add black.... that's another of my favourites and I know that Black scares a lot of people but it really isn't that bad....

so that is my take on the January Palette Play. Don't forget to add your take the album on Facebook. We love to see what you create..

as promised (well it says it in the title) my next take on the next ATC.
this one is 3. Dreamy Landscapes: create a surreal or dreamlike landscape.
I kind of remembered process photos for this one....
I started off using some Liquitex Texture Paste to cover this old Kinder Kreations mask of a forest.
how it ends up is the actual image that I am creating will be lower than the rest of the card. I then added a couple of colours of the Lindy's Stamp Gang magical shakers (product list below) and spritzed with water to activate them.
I then went over the modelling paste - top was with the Speckled egg and bottom the Hickory Smoke and lightly spritz with water, this helps to create that dreamy feeling.

then I stitched around the edges and added my quote....

Just a little close up so you can see how the shakers ended up. I love how random and uncontrolled these are. It is so freeing to leave it to the products to do their job and waiting to see what happens.

and to share how it looks in my album....

'Nature' ATC by Emma Zappone with VIDEO

Hi there!
Em with you today.
How good is the ATC challenge! I personally am loving it.
It's a small project that whets the creative taste buds.
This weeks prompt is 'Nature'. Oh how I adore this prompt. I just knew I had to play with the 49&Market 'Nature Study' Rub ons!

You can see my creation come to life via my video here.....

I love how you can create layers without the bulk (even though I adore bulking 😂😜)
This ATC also has some Laser cut elements from the 'Plum Grove' collection. It's awesome how you can use different collections but they all compliment each other.

I have decided that my 52 ATC's will use/incorporate 49&Market products as I have sooooo much.
It also spurs on the creativity.

These are my 15-20min of creating time, even when time is poor, these wonderful little cards spring excitement into my art.

I hope you enjoyed my little video and it inspires you to create little.

Keep your projects coming through on the FB page, as we all love seeing your versions of the theme.
Plus the monthly Palette Play is the wonderful blue tones, so join in the creative fun.

I will catch you all again soon.
Em xx

ATC week 2 - Nature's Bounty

 Hi all, Welcome to Saturday....

This week I am going to share another one of my ATC for the 52 ATC prompts.

But first, I thought I would run through what is an ATC - Artist Trading Card. ATC started as a conceptual art project that was initiated by Swiss artist M. Vanci Stirnemann in 1997 - called a Collaborative Cultural Performance. ATCs are 2.5 x 3.5 inches in size and are self-made unique works of art or small series. Typically, these were signed and dated by the artist and then traded/exchanged and collected by people who wanted to participate. BUT.. for Scrapping Clearly 2024, it is more a small-scale jump start to creativity where there will be 52 prompts shared to get the mojo started.

So, in saying that, let's start off with the next prompt: Nature's Bounty - depict a natural element (e.g., flower, tree, animal). Here is my take: Souvenier

I totally forgot to take process photos. I started off with some Distress Oxide - Lucky Clover that I smooshed onto the ATC. After it had dried, I then added some Liquitex Modeling Paste through an old Kinder Kreations stencil. I love how you can still see the oxide ink through the dried paste.
I then added the frame which was cut in half from a 49 & Market - Plum Grove Ephemera Bits pack.
If you know me, you'll know that I add butterflies, moths, or even just their wings to a lot of my projects. So since this prompt was all about nature and animals, I transferred a Dress my Craft - transfer me - Vintage Butterfly to the project and it cracked and filled the lumps and bumps. Now some people might not like that but I love how it came out. I then stitched the edges (one of my ATC rules that I set myself) and added a very very very old Tim Holtz (I think) sticker word and .... done.
a little close up

and here it is sitting in my book/album that I shared on the previous blog post.
Next week I will be back to share my take on the January Palette Play.
and here is a little sneak at my take..

I'll share that next week.
So, until then.
Live with Respect.

'Little Details' by Emma Zappone plus VIDEO

Hello everyone,

Today I share a small project with you.
You are all enjoying the awesome ATC challenge that has begun. And I too have made it a goal to get creating also. ATC's are not something I am super familiar with.
I love creating small, but this is all new sorts of small.

And I did create a little video.....

This weeks prompt is 'Self Portrait', and this made me think hard.
So I decided I would see it in a different way.
I love the small details on my creations and so because ATC's are small, I have decided to use small elements on my ATC.

I started simple with some Distress Oxides, and decided to follow this months Monochromatic theme as well. And then added 49&Market rub-ons. These have become a huge part of my details in my art and so it was only fitting to create with these.

And I finished it off with a butterfly and some splash ink.
It's pretty rare not to find a butterfly on my creations, so it was a fitting representation of my self portrait also.

I do hope my video was a little bit of inspo also.

I hope that you join us creating these little pops of art.
Make sure to add them on the FB page so we can all see your magic.

I will catch you all again soon

Em xx
