Hi Scrapping Clearly Lovelies!

It's Karyn here and today I have an art journal page that I created using lots of fun products available at Scrapping Clearly!

 

This page is created on a kraft page in my 8x10 Dina Wakley Media Journal.

I started by creating a watercolour background using Prima Watercolor Confections - Classics and Decadent Pies (silver, black, white and grey). I then added splatters of each of these colours.

Next I added white crackle texture paste,  Black modelling paste, and Bo Bunny Gold glitter paste  through stencils across the page.

 

 

I added a photo that I found on Pinterest and printed on photo paper. I matted the photo on some 13 Arts Industrial Transparent sheet.

 

 

 I added white gauze, burlap and white diecuts from my stash as well as some Tim Holtz Snarky word stickers and a Heidi Swapp acetate word.

Hi everyone!

Who else ADORES the Vicki Boutin ranges? I have the "Let's Wander" collection and that is what I have used for today's page.

With some AMAZING papers and a dedicated amount of fussy cutting... this page came together so perfectly!

Here are the products I used:

* Hello adventure 12x12 paper (as the main background - thanks for being a rainbow to match my photo)

* Sunshine and Smiles 12 x12 paper (fussy cut the flowers from this paper)

* Lets Wander 6x12 cardstock stickers

* Lets Wander sticker book

* Prima - Finnabair - Art pebbles

I layered all the fussy cut flowers (some on foam tape) with stickers and the art pebbles.

So pleased with this page - simple, but made perfect by this collection!

Lockdown Hair

Hi everyone,

Hasn't this been a challenging year.   In Victoria, I think we became a little complacent, doing so well social distancing and self isolating when required - the first time around.    To go back into lockdown again for another 6 weeks is a shock.   Should have made that hair appointment when I had the chance!

This layout has been inspired by this month's mood board.

Prima Moulds

I just recieved some new prima moulds and I thought I would try the resin.

I did have a couple of hiccups. I mixed too much for the first batch and it sarted to set before I got it into the moulds. So first lesson keep it to a quick workable amount. I found 100mls of each part worked fine.

Also do not over fill your mould as you then have to file or cut off extra bits.

I used 49 and Market papers, flowers and ephemera. KinderKreations cut file pieces in black to finish off this layout.

Friday Fun Day!

Hi All!! 

In these crazy times we are living in at the moment I hope this post finds you all safe and well!

Living in Melbourne has been a challenge lately as we are back in lock down once again. 

 Last time we were in this situation I created up a storm, then flatlined with my motivation and avoided my room like the plague! Well this time around I have started with the flatline.....arghhh!!!!

 I am totally unmotivated, and struggle every time I enter the black hole that is my "room"!

What to do? What to do?

I would love to hear how you break that cycle of apathy toward creativity.....I really need it right now!

So what do I have for you today? 

Well, as I hate to let people down, all I have been attempting, is my DT commitments, so I do have something for you today...a very simple Art Journal page created in my Dina Wakley Mixed Media Journal out of scrap paint and after cleaning off a stencil.

So here is the page called 

"Wild & Free"

Such an appropriate title really as I totally dream of being so!

I knocked back the busy background with white paint and a palette knife so that it did not hurt your eyes LOL! This made it a lot more appealing and manageable.

Now the colours I found in the background were Dina Wakley acrylic in Turquoise, Cheddar, Fuchsia and Eggplant. Also I added some Liquitex Acrylic Guache in Fluro Opera Pink, this colour is freaking awesome and a little goes a long way so don't be tempted to add too much to a page!

I then dragged out a stamp I have not used in a while from Dina Wakley "Scribbly Birds in Flight" and stamped them on to old book paper with Archival Black Ink. Now I do know that Kylie has not got this stamp ATM but I am sure if you ask she will be able to get it in for you, and if you do have this one in your stash rip it out and have a play!

After cutting them out I then grabbed the coordinating Dina Wakley Chipboard Shapes- Flying and sprayed the shape with Gloss sprays in Eggplant, Cheddar and splashed a bit of Turquoise.

If you do this in stages it works fab!

I attached it all on my page chose a title and the page was done!

I started by using a palate knife to swipe DWM acrylic paints across the page in places (white, medieval, mineral).

Then I added torn strips of Heidi Swapp Emerson Lane washi and Magnolia Jane washi across the page in places. 

  

Lastly I added and some Bo Bunny Silver glitter paste, Heidi Swapp Wolf Pack Ephemera and white diecuts from my stash.

Hi all!

A few new things in my kit in the last month and they feature on today's page:

• Finnabair stencil - Floral net
• Tim Holtz embossing glazes - Fossilized Amber and Fire Brick and Walnut Stain
• Prima watercolour Confections in Terrain

Here is a glimpse of my project....

And here is the full project and an explanation of how I created the page.

I started with some wood paneled patterned paper for the background.

I used the Finnabair stencil - Floral net with some white modeling paste in the centre of the page.

For colour I used my new Prima watercolour Confections in Terrain - I painted colour over the stenciling. I also painted some white flowers and muslin.

Now here are some close ups, where you can see my finishing touches.

I layered the photo on a doily, with muslin underneath and chipboard title along the top of the photo.

My flowers got some extra treatment. I added some versamark to them and dipped them into Tim Holtz embossing glazes - the yellow flowers into Fossilized Amber and the orange flowers into Walnut Stain. Created colour variation and interest to the flowers.

Don't forget some thickers for your titles!

For the title on the photo, I had a Dutch chipboard word (got from a craft shop on my last trip), which I painted in the watercolours, before dipping in both Tim Holtz embossing glazes - Fossilized Amber and Fire Brick, so I had both colours on the chipboard - ombre-style!

Included in my clusters are some stickers from the Pinkfresh Escape the Ordinary collection, as well as some charms from my stash.
