Fresh Fish Anyone

Hi everyone

I just love this month's mood board.  

 

So much so that I was inspired by just about everything in it: the wreath, twine, leaves, wooden Christmas tree, gold and of course the turkey!

I started with some old Kaisercraft paper from my stash that I had been hoarding and traced around a bowl with some Scribble Sticks.

I added some more scribbles and then blended with an aqua brush.

I used some double sided tape to stick my wood veneer leaves and chipboard scrolls onto my very messy mat (to stop them running away - the slippery little suckers) and then painted them with some gesso then Prima water colours, finished off with a tad of Nuvo Embellishment Mouse for a bit of bling.

I stitched on my wreath using my sewing machine, matted my photo and then started adding my painted leaves and scrolls and beads to the wreath using some gel medium.   

I then created a Christmas tree using some jute braid, beads and a star  from my stash.

I used a Heidi Swapp word as part of my title.

Hi everyone

Back with my first post for the month, inspired by this month's mood board.

I started with some old patterned paper from my stash which  I added the waste from some punched circles I had used for another LO just to add a little subtle texture.   I lightly covered the lot with gesso using an old credit card.   I then used a baby wipe to take some of the gesso off and lighten some areas.

I then used some gelatos (Cotton Candy & Orange Soda), smooshed onto my messy mat , spritzed with water and added to my background with a brush and some Lindy's Stamp Gang Starburst spray.

I added some stamping using a Colour Blast stamp and the some Colour Blast paste in Deep Water using a Darkroom Door Stencil.   I coated a few Darkroom Door chipboard pieces with gesso, then Dina Wakley Acrylic paint in Turquoise and rubbed on a little Nuvo Embellishment Mousse with my finger to highlight it in places.   I used Dylusions Squeezed Orange spray to colour some gauze.

I matted my photo with some We R Memory Keepers patterned paper from the Crush collection and then assembled my layers using some plaster tape, washi tape, Hambly Screen Prints and ephemera from the Cocoa Vanilla Happiness Is collection, Nuvo Crystal drops and finishing off with my title with a sticker from the Tim Holtz Small Talk pad.

Always in my heart

Good morning everyone.   

Hope you're getting plenty of crafty time.   I'm busy working on an album for my youngest nephew who is turning 13 soon.   Hard to believe where that time's gone.

I started with some plain pale blue card stock and added some Colour Blast shimmer dust and a spritz of water.   I did some random arrow stamping using Ranger archival ink.   I wasn't quite sure where this LO was going and how much other mixed media I would be using.   By using archival ink, my stamping would stay put if I did add more wet media offer the top. I added some modelling paste through a stencil and some Colour Blast pastes through a couple more stencils.   That was my background done.

I coloured some Darkroom Door chipboard with a black posca pen (so much easier than getting out my black gesso!) and rubbed in a little Nuvo Embellishment Mousse.   

I used some Simple Stories patterned paper to mat my photo but before I did  I used my craft knife to cut out the heart as I wanted to use this as an embellishment and my title.

I added some Ranger Glossy Accents to the words in the heart to give it a bit of shine and thickness as this was my title.

I inked the edges with some Distress Ink, added some Heidi Swapp chipboard stickers, some thread, beads and Michelle Grant Design Pebble Rock and I was done.
