Embrace the Journey with Emma

Welcome to the first Friday of August.
Only one more month of Winter....Yay!! Don't get me wrong I love winter, but I'm hanging for some warmer days to just thaw off.
Today I'm sharing a layout that is inspired by the new moodboard for August.
It's gorgeous, with it's muted soft palette. Here is how I interpreted it.

The corals and apricots add a real romantic vibe.
I also saw the hexagon background in the board and thought I would do a subtle ode to that in my background.

I also wanted to capture that real apricot colour so I used a thick paint and spread it through a TCW stencil - distressed lace this one and put it over the layers as well as the background t get that contrast.

Within my background work I also used a variety of stamps including this adorable Lavinia stamp that was inked with Abandoned Coral Distress Oxide.

My paper layers were tags cut out of a few different sheets of paper from the Golden Days Fancy Pants 6x6 pad. They matched perfectly with the colour tones of the board.

And like all my pages, I need quotes, so I again turned to Tim Holtz Small talk stickers.
These always seem to be spot on with the mood I want to create.

And that's me done!
I'll catch you all again a little later on in the month.
Happy scrapping friends.

Fluffy Slime - With Karyn Schultz!

Hi Scrapping Clearly Lovelies!!

It's Karyn here, and today I have a scrapbook page to share with you made using lots of goodies from the Shimelle Box of Crayons collection available in the Scrapping Clearly Store.

For my base I've used a sheet of white cardstock. I added some background colour using Prima Watercolor Confections and a painting with plastic technique underneath in the area intended for my photo. To add more interest to the painted background I added some stamping and stencilling with texture paste. The stamps I used were Lavinia stamps dandelions and stones. Along the bottom of the page I added a barcode strip from Shimelle Box of Crayons paper.

I  created a range of tags from the Shimelle papers and added under the photo.

I also added some glass elements, metal embellishments, a paper flower and cotton thread. Finally I added some alphas to form my title.

Thanks so much for stopping by

Own your dreams - with Emma.

It's Tuesday which means it's my share today.
And I have drawn inspiration from the SC mood board for the month of March.
Have you seen it yet?
Check it out here...….

And here is how I interpreted it...…

I really focused on the colour from the board for this one.
I used a mix of ingredients including Dylusions Ink Spray in Crushed grape, a Lindy's shimmer in Silent night Silver, Ranger Enamel Accent in Caribean coast.
I also flicked a little Distress Oxide around and I chose Hickory Smoke.

I used the purple and turquoise shades to really enhance the Fairy Orb stamp. Love this stamp!!

The Metals I painted with a black gesso and then rubbed some Art Alchemy Wax over the top to add some depth and sheen.

Behind my image I layered one of the Heidi Swapp Decorative tag that I added colour to, which you can see me do in my video that I have created. Plus I cut a tag out of a sheet from Heidi swapp die cut paper.

Lastly a couple of Tim Holtz Small talk quotes and a few art pebbles thrown around for good measure.

I will be back next week with another interpretation of the mood board for you all.

I cant wait to see how you play with the board.
I would love you to check out my video here....

Till next week, Em xx
