June Moodboard Inspired - With Emma

Hi SC friends,
Emma here with you all on this last Friday of the month. And today I'm sharing a layout that was again inspired by the monthly moodboard.

Those soft pinks, grey's and hits of purple really are stunning and can be interpreted any way.
This is how I felt it this time.....

I used some awesome products for this page.

 Firstly I Stamped a large Floral flower which is part of the Art by Marlene stamps, this one is named Floral Escape, onto a piece of white card stock. Then I started to add my colour. 

Using Art Alchemy in Romance pink and Distress Oxide in Victorian Velvet, I "water coloured" over the image and once dry cut it in half.

My background work also consists of the above mentioned colours plus a Lindy's Starburst spray in silver, just to add a few grey notes to the background.

Once these were dry i added a Stone effect paste through a stunning 6x6 TCW stencil, choosing the Distressed Lace pattern.

My stamping is one of the awesome Stamps from Studio Light this one being from the grunge collection.

So very very cool!

The tags are a combination of what i had in my stash and mixed with some i made myself with a sheet from Fancy Pants designs 6x6 paper pad Golden Days.

All these layered up behind my photo.

Beautiful 2Crafty chipboard tucked in my layers painted with that gorgeous Metalique Art Alchemy paint. I also chose to paint the glass dome with this paint to create an embellishment unique to this page.

Final touch is the Small Talk stickers by Tim Holtz. 

That's pretty much it for this page. 

I have been loving the creations that have come through so far.

Next month another stunning board for us all to play with will be revealed.

Live Your Life - with Emma

Hi SC friends,

Emma here with you for this first Friday of the month, sharing my creation inspired by this months mood board.

It's an absolutely gorgeous board this month, very soft very feminine.

Stunning isn't it? Just makes you want to get creative.

Here are a few of the items I was inspired to play with in my layout, available now in the shop.

I started with the TCW Stencil Script Dots using a cement paste for my background interest.

Once this was dry I started to add a hint of colour. I did this my using Distress Oxides in Victorian Velvet and Tattered Rose. I smooshed it around with a piece of plastic packaging, which you can see my do in the video.

The Oxide grabbed to the paste and dried very quickly.

I really wanted to keep the background super soft just like in the board, so I only did a very light layer of the inks.

Next I attached a few pre-made layers from off cuts that matched the colour scheme. 

Folding and adding a couple of the Heidi Swapp flower trimmings and rubbing a little of the oxide ink colour to blend in with the background.

Beautiful and simple items to use to create a whimsy and floral vibe.

The Tim Holtz Idea-ology acetate wings make a great layering element being transparent as well as adding that fine detail that creates height and a 3D effect.

I added a few awesome quotes from Tim Holtz small talk stickers to finalize the page. Helping to tell the story a little.

I hope this page inspires you to find the soft side and create something pretty.

Create - with Emma

Emma here on this awesome Friday!

Today I grunge things up a bit, really letting a bit of the inner artist out.

And here are some of the awesome products used to create this page.

Ok, so lets start with the background. For this i used the very cool TCW Dahlia Blooms stencil with the Jo Sonja Black Texture paste.

OH it spread through that stencil just perfectly! 

Once dry, I started using a little colour. Firstly some of the Dylusions Shimmer Spray, using Polished Jade I smooshed this into my background, flicked it as i went.

Then I dripped a little water colour ink to make the drips down the page.

Behind my image (which I found on Pinterest) I tore sheets of the Heidi Swapp wanderlust 5x7 paper pad. I used only the ones I thought would best compliment my image and the grungy/arty vibe I wanted. But I did fussy cut the flowers out of one of the sheets to add just that every slight feminine charm into the page.

The 2Crafty chipboard in this above image and the 'create' title are both coated with the Distress oxide in Peacock Feathers.

If you look closely you can see that I have torn and teared the Art by Marlene washi, and then layered amongst the paper layers.

Adding interest and texture.

Finally I flicked some liquitex titanium white ink over the top of everything.

Totally Awesome

Welcome back to the blog and the new April moodboard… isn’t she a stunner….

I found that the Avery Elle Celery & Ken Oliver ColourBurst Turquoise watercolours work so well together. The richness of colour from that turquoise is amazing and the celery was used as an undertone. I dropped a few drops of the celery colour first and spritzed it with water then dropped my white cardstock on top. I dried this with my heat tool before I added a little of the Turquoise powder to my mat and spritzed it and followed the same process. I chose the Floral Eclipse TCW stencil for this layout to help give more depth.

 

Liquitexmodelling paste was used with a spatula to push through the stencil.

 I placed it in three zones on my page .

I used a large range of different embellishments for this layout. On this page I loved the Heidi Swapp frames and the Cocoa Vanilla BoysRule stickers. I also used a few acetate pieces from the Heidi Swapp Minc ephemera pack. To complement all this goodness, I had some fabulous Pink Freshtiny words to create the title. I teamed the Cocoa Vanilla sticker ‘totally’ and the Heidi Swapp timber word ‘awesome’ to help create another title and set the mood for the page. 

I have also added a teal diecut from my stash.

For some extra touches I added some Heidi Swapp ric rac  and a Ken Oliver light bulb embellishment on top of some black cotton. Also a Ken Oliver key was added on top of the Pink Fresh word ‘Captured’ which comes from the Live More range.

Finally I added a stitched border around the layout to help tie it all together.
