Gel prints, by Amanda Hartmann

 Hello SC fans!

Who has a Gel printing plate? And how often do you use it?

I was determined to get mine out over the weekend, to try with the NEW Dina Wakley Paint colours.

I used my very awesome Studio Light Jenine’s Mindful Art Journal 8.25″X7.5″, as the pages clip out so it is easier to use on the Gel plate than a bound art journal. I also had some sheets of A4 white cardstock ready to make a few prints - if you are doing it, you may as well make a few as you experiment!

Check out the new DINA colours here:

For texture I used these wood Clay rollers that I picked up for cheap at Kmart.

Here are a few pictures of the printing process.

Use a Brayer to roll Sage on to the plate.

Clay rollers ready....

Roll through the paint to leave an impression.

Press cardstock on and peel back to reveal an awesome print!

Sage combined with Fir for this print.

Go again with Orchid and the other design in the clay roller.

Another print made!

Add some Tangelo to the mix for these prints.

Now to look at my final projects!
