Messy Magical Creativity by Tracey B

 Happy New Year!

 I hope everyone has a fabulous creative year.

I've been inspired by this month's fantastic mood affirmation and created this using lots of goodies from the Aliferous Foundations pack.

I started by tearing the Design paper & taping that down.   I then sponged on some Dina Wakley paints (Aloe & Olive) through a couple of TCW stencils (Petal Splash & and Flourish Tile).

I then spritzed the dirty stencils and pressed them onto a small piece of Design Base paper as the start of my tag.

I then used Art Anthology Sorbet dimensional paint (Leaf) and scraped through the Petal Splash stencil with a palette knife.

Love these paints - they have a really lovely shine and shimmer. (And they're on sale!) 

I used a compass and pencil to draw a half circle for the placement of my title (although a dinner plate would work just as well) which I carefully rubbed out once my title was down.

I fussy cut the butterfly from the Design paper and die cut a couple more from the Base paper.

I used a little of the washi tape, a stamp from the stamp collection, a reinforcement, lace from my stash (which was a perfect match to the lace frame on the paper - happy accident!) and my clunky typewiter to finish off my tag.

A little stamping using a script stamp and Kaisercraft permanent black ink and some more reinforcements finished off the page.

 Hi everyone

I've been away from my craft desk for a month tripping around the countryside so I needed a quickie layout.   I started with some Vicki Boutin patterned paper where pretty much all of the mixed media work has already been done for you!   I don't think of it as cheating - rather an effective use of my time!

 

I cut a large star from chipboard and give it and a couple of other chipboard starts from my stash a couple of coats of Dina Wakley paint (Lapis and Tangerine)  

I drew a circle on the back of my page and used a pokey tool and a mouse pad to poke some holes around it.   I then stitched through the holes using blue and orange embroidery floss.   (I find it much easier on my fingers to poke my holes first rather than just use a needle)   

Then all I had to do was matt my photo and add some clusters of embellishments and stickers including

The break that refreshes

Hi everyone.

I finally made it onto the blog today.    I've been out of my craft room for 5 days whilst it was getting painted.   All my stash got moved into the lounge room so I  had to leap over everything to find stuff.   Lucky I'm so fit and agile - not!   I unearthed a Teresa Collins Urban Market paper pad which I absolutely love so I based my LO on that.
