Weekend Memory

The second week of Spring and another chance to work on the new moodboard for your chance to win a store voucher.... I am so loving these colours... you have no excuse not to enter!

My layout this week is of some awesome pics of my kids.... we were working at our house and the kids really came to the party and helped pull up the driveway - they built themselves a few chairs with the uplifted pavers and then decided our beautiful dog needed to be queen of this - so they built her a chair in the middle... I love my thoughtful children...

I added some Liquitex Modelling paste to the Darkroom door stencil 'polka dots' to my base cardstock.

I then sprayed some Distress spray ink in 'peacock feathers' on to a messy mat and then laid the dried page on to that so it picked up the ink on the Liquitex stenciled elements.

Time for placement to see if everything worked -- NO IT DIDN'T -- so I added a little black stitching around the outer edge.... I really felt this still did not work -- it just seemed too busy and too many elements... only one thing to do....

Time to Gesso the whole layout.... I pulled everything off the layout and then used some Liquitex Gesso to go over the different colours and elements I had started to used on the page.

Once everything had dried I used the Jane Davenport stamps to add a little stamping in two places... I used the stamp near the Dina Wakley Collage paper  that I added to the top and bottom of the photo line.

I used the same Jane Davenport stamps to stamp out some of the flowers in two sizes. Once stamped out with some black ink I used a little Dylusions paint in Calypso teal to colour them, then cut them out and layered on the layout.

Time to add some timber words ... I have used Heidi Swapp wood words

... and some Heidi Swapp acetate words and epoxy stickers

So once I had decided on the elements and after my change of mind - this is my finished layout...

have fun creating this week ... I look forward to your uploads in our Facebook album for September  - have fun creating this weekend!
